Chapter 36: Bai Xiaoyin

The Paternity Guard (PATERNITY)

So, under Lin Canghai’s earnest persuasion, Xing Beiming finally agreed to confront the Blood Demon Sect with the Martial Arts Alliance. Therefore, Lin Canghai proudly followed Xing Beiming into the World’s Supreme Fortress but that’s a story for later.

For now, Lin Canghai, the current Martial Arts Alliance leader, felt victorious.

Outside the fortress, Hou Jia and a group of guards were lined up neatly to welcome the return of their Master.

The spirited faces, pleasing guard uniforms and shiny sharp swords made a striking sight, all calling out “Welcome back, Master!” in unison, even impressing Lin Canghai and others standing behind Xing Beiming.

This kind of commanding presence made one submit, truly impressive!

I, who was a renowned Martial Arts Alliance Leader, have never experienced such grandeur.

Truly worthy of envy and jealousy!

Lin Canghai’s heart was tinged with sourness.

Xing Beiming, still coolly composed, acknowledged the greetings but instead of entering further, he walked to the front of the carriage and lifted the curtain. Everyone stared at the carriage while imagining if their Master would step out with a stunning beauty, perhaps the Future Lady and filling the long-vacant position of the Lady of the Fortress.

It was an exhilarating moment as it was filled with anticipation, excitement and different emotions from all the guards and onlookers in the corner.

A hand hesitantly reached out and landed perfectly on Xing Beiming’s extended hand.

While everyone was excited, they were also puzzled.

This hand, though slender, lacked the fair complexion and was slightly larger, yet it didn’t lose to the Master in any way. Could this person also be from the Martial Arts World? Right! After all, how could an ordinary girl match their Master!

Then, Shi Qi was pulled out of the carriage by Xing Beiming in front of everyone and exposing him to all eyes. For a moment, there was just silence while everyone’s eyes widened.

Shi Qi felt uneasy under such circumstances and looked at his Master with a signal of help in his eyes.

He did not feel sleepy since approaching the World’s Supreme Fortress, despite the cold winds outside. Instead, he was excitedly watching the approaching gates then he saw the guards waiting outside. Just when he thought the carriage would go straight in, the curtain was lifted and revealed his Master’s handsome face which clearly indicated “come out.”

Why?

Shi Qi subconsciously looked at the slightly bulging abdomen under the cloak, hesitating a bit. But with his Master patiently lifting the curtain, he had no choice but to tighten his cloak and step out and meet Xing Beiming hand outside the carriage. Before he could retract, his fingertips were held. And so, Shi Qi was led down from the carriage by Xing Beiming.

What was this situation?

Their Master was so careful in supporting a male person.

Could it be that the Future Lady is actually a man? My goodness, this is big news!

Of course, Shi Qi didn’t realize that he had already been labeled with the four golden words “Lady of the Fortress” on his head. He awkwardly followed Xing Beiming while enduring various gazes cast upon him.

In the rear carriage, Ke Weiqing had seen enough drama, so he got off the carriage first then he extended his hand like Xing Beiming while thinking of casually helping anyone, after all, they were all beauties.

However, Gu Weijing completely ignored this younger generation and directly jumped off from the other side and landed lightly while completely ignoring the outstretched hand as if it didn’t exist before lightly walking away with Xing Beiming towards the fortress.

Ke Weiqing clenched his fist while trembling and felt that this was too much! How could he embarrass him like this!

Shi Qi, who didn’t know what happened behind but felt that the eyes that had been staring at him had diminished a lot. Finally, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Being a Shadow Guard, he always acted in the shadows and has never tried to be so high-profile.

Then he realized that he had been walking side by side with his Master all along and exclaimed, “Master!”

Supporting his waist as he tried to step back, Xing Beiming said expressionlessly, “What’s wrong? Do you want this Lord to hold you?”

No, this is fine!

Shi Qi lowered his head and continued to walk seriously.

Ordering Cheng Bo to arrange accommodations for Gu Weijing and others, Xing Beiming directly took Shi Qi back to the main house.

He took off Shi Qi’s cloak to examine the slightly swollen abdomen that had always been hidden before he reached out to touch it and asked, “Are you tired?”

Shi Qi nodded while feeling moved that his Master would ask such caring words. But then Xing Beiming spread out the bed and opened the blanket. “Go lie down and you can get up when it’s time to eat.”

There seemed to be something stuck in Shi Qi’s throat but he couldn’t speak.

He just stared blankly at his Master’s eyebrows and eyes, as if it were natural. Xing Beiming saw this and quickly took off Yimg Shi Qi’s outer clothes before carefully holding his waist to lay him down on the bed, he even removed his shoes and socks.

When Shi Qi finally reacted and tried to resist, he was pressed down by a hand. Xing Beiming said in a deep voice, “You’re slow to react, Shi Qi. What are you thinking?”

Shi Qi panicked, “I beg the Master’s pardon but I didn’t dare think of anything…”

Xing Beiming snorted coldly then released his arms and got up, “Just sleep!” He took a step angrily but didn’t forget to throw the blanket over Shi Qi tightly before leaving.

Shi Qi stared at Xing Beiming’s back until his figure completely disappeared at the door and even when the door was closed, he still didn’t retract his gaze.

His hands were tightly gripping the blanket with his eyes showing a hint of panic, confusion and hope.

………

Xing Beiming went to the Main Hall to exchange information with Lin Canghai and others.

The conclusion they reached was that the Blood Demon Sect was very similar to the one that was destroyed years ago. As for the current Palace Lord, his style was more daring, cruel, and arrogant compared to Yin Haoyue from the past.

Many wealthy households in Yueming City had suffered.

This Palace Lord never showed his face from beginning to end but according to Shi Qi, this person’s face was beautiful and sinister, neither male nor female and was somewhat similar to Yin Haoyue from back then.

The Yueming city does not disclose everything under its control but the increasing chaos within the city is becoming more evident. At this moment, All of them are already at the World’s Supreme Fortress and are just waiting to see how the Blood Demon Sect Master takes the first step. Xing Beiming casually tossed the obtained information on the table and returned to the Main House.

Pregnant people should move frequently as it can be beneficial for childbirth.

Following Gu Weijing’s suggestion, Xing Beiming has been taking time these days to accompany Shi Qi to walk around the Fortress and near Yueming City. However, today they encountered people from the Qi family.

The Qi family in Yueming City is a renowned family of literature and art. They are usually friendly and are not involved in any conflicts. They even treated everyone in their household with kindness, making them highly respected in Yueming City. When something happens to the Qi family, many people are filled with righteous indignation. Since the authorities cannot interfere in Jianghu matters, their hopes rest on Yueming City’s prized possession—the World’s Supreme fortress.

As this place is not far from the Qi family, Gu Weijing, who went with them, suggested waiting here.

Finding this discussion boring, Xing Beiming went alone and instruct Shi Qi before leaving but he didn’t forget to leave Ying San and Ying Shi to watch over Shi Qi before walking away, even though he was not completely at ease.

Leaving the mountain for the first time, everything seems novel. Gradually, Si Fang moved out of Gu Weijing’s sight.

Gu Weijing regrets bringing Si Fang to such a place and apologizes to Shi Qi then instructing him to wait around while Gu Weijing goes to fetch that child. Shi Qi just stands there and watches Si Fang happily exploring each stall with his long white hair tied up and hidden under a furry hat. Gu Weijing, anxious and frustrated, rushes around with him and almost catches him each time but still misses, much to Shi Qi’s amusement.

“Watch out!” A person pushing a cart rushes past and almost collides with a girl on the side of the road. The woman narrowly avoids it but stumbles towards Shi Qi.

Shi Qi frowned while holding the woman’s arms to steady her and intended to help her to stand upright. Unexpectedly, the woman stumbled again, immediately falling into his arms with a fragrant and intoxicating smell. Shi Qi’s frown deepened as he let go of her arms wrapped around him while taking several steps back.

The girl, startled by the incident, was surprised to encounter someone avoiding her like a snake for the first time. Though her expression was not pleasant, she still gracefully bowed and looked directly at Shi Qi with captivating eyes, saying, “Thank you, Young Master. If I had fallen, I wouldn’t be able to dance for half a month.”

This is a stunning woman with pink attire and cascading long hair slightly disheveled from the vigorous movements earlier, accentuating her alluring and bewitching aura. Shi Qi thought of someone named Bai Xiaoyin from Yiqing Pavilion, who appeared in Yueming City after the Flower Festival.

As if sensing the thoughts of the person in front of her, Bai Xiaoyin smiled seductively, “Young Master, it seems you are quite knowledgeable about the ways of the world and you recognize me, Bai Xiaoyin. I came to Yueming City at the invitation of Meng Yuan and if there’s a chance, you can come and watch my new dance as a token of gratitude.”

Shi Qi was far from being the worldly person she described.

Seeing Gu Weijing getting further away, he was afraid something might happen to them, so he hurried to catch up. Bai Xiaoyin remained standing there while holding the hand that had touched a certain place earlier, with a mischievous smile, “Hehe, it seems there’s indeed something fun to hide. How can I let you enjoy it alone?”

Gu Weijing finally caught Si Fang who was running amok and scolded him while pointing at his nose. Si Fang’s expression remained icy but his flushed cheeks betrayed his happiness from running around. Gu Weijing tightly held his hand and turned around to look for Shi Qi, only to be surprised to find no trace of him. He searched all the way back to where they parted ways but found nothing.

……..

Shi Qi stopped in front of an alley and suddenly sensed that something was wrong. Besides the vendors at the stalls, there were more pedestrians passing by and gradually obstructing his view. He tried to use the lightness technique quietly but his dantian felt empty. In an instant, he realized something was amiss.

When did he fall for an ambush?

The instant that he thought of Bai Xiaoyin’s scent and her hidden allure rushed into his mind, he collapsed weakly.

The vendors and passersby near the alley gathered around to swiftly carry him away and disappeared into the depths of the alley.

Bai Xiaoyin stood at the corner while smiling as she looked at the Shadow Guards in front of her, “Who dares to stop me from taking away the person I want?”

Translator thought:

Oh no! Xing Beiming!! Your husband is being snatched!!
