The Green Tea is Always Targeting The Wrong Person (GREENTEA)
Yue Chu opened his eyes and forced himself to sit up despite the dizziness. He heard the clinking of metal and realized his wrist was chained to the bedpost.
He raised an eyebrow in amusement and turned to the man who had been sitting there like a statue.
"Du Guzhou, what do you mean by this?"
He had to admit he had underestimated Du Guzhou. The man had shrewdly detected his escape attempt and patiently waited for him on the way and directly kidnapped him.
Du Guzhou remained silent with his eyes shining like stars in the dim light, yet covered with a thin layer of ice, radiating a chilling aura.
He spoke with voice hoarse: "Sorry, it was my negligence."
He had promised Yue Chu he wouldn't be in danger, but things had taken an unexpected turn.
Not only going wrong but going terribly wrong.
Du Guzhou knew he couldn't let Yue Chu return to the shelter, so he could only temporarily lock him up at home and keep a close watch.
Yue Chu rattled the chains on his wrist as a mocking curve formed on his lips.
Du Guzhou was still too naive.
He thought his actions were unseen, but the Du family had already learned of his intentions. Not only did they not intend to stop him, but they had also taken drastic measures to avoid further trouble.
His gaze shifted, and he said calmly, "Then release me."
Du Guzhou slowly shook his head.
He couldn't.
If he let Yue Chu go now, he would return to Wei Xiayang's side and continue to influence him.
Yue Chu sat up straight while rubbing his throbbing temples.
The side effects of the medication were giving him a headache, and half his face was numb.
"What you're doing is pointless," he said. "Even without me, Wei Xiayang wouldn't be with you. The problem between you two isn't about outsiders, it's about you."
Du Guzhou's jaw tightened, and his eyes flashed with defiance.
‘What was wrong with him? He loved Wei Xiayang so much, respected him, protected him, and ignored other Omegas who came to him. In his life, besides his career and family, the most important thing was Xiayang. Wasn't that enough?!’
Yue Chu laughed but his laughter was interrupted by a cough due to the pain in his chest that forced him to lie back down and cover his chest to stop himself from laughing further.
Looking at the ceiling, he sighed before turning his head to look at Du Guzhou. His eyes filled with a faint pity and provocation.
"Did you succeed?"
‘If you succeeded, what about Zhou Ran? If you succeeded, why didn't you support Wei Xiayang in the competition? If you succeeded, why would you leave an Omega alone by a remote lake?’
Love and respect aren't just words, they require concrete actions.
Moreover...
Yue Chu leisurely curled his lips into a smile, "So you lost, because in my eyes, Wei Xiayang is the first."
Du Guzhou rose to his feet in a fit of rage and strode to the bedside before looking down at Yue Chu, his eyes filled with a turbulent storm of denial.
"Stop talking nonsense!" he said. "You're just using these words to deceive Xiayang. I know your intentions."
Yue Chu was stunned before helplessly covering his forehead with his hand.
‘Was it the protagonist who was too stupid, or was it the world setting? Why couldn't Du Guzhou get it? Why did he insist on believing Yue Chu liked him?’
He reflected on his own actions.
Except for the punishment mode, he had never shown any affection for Du Guzhou. Why did he insist on clinging to this delusion?
"An alpha like you, arrogant, and stubborn, even if I were blind, I wouldn't look at you."
Du Guzhou didn't listen at all.
He became even more convinced that Yue Chu was cunning and scheming, and the word "hypocritical" couldn't be more appropriate.
Yue Chu helplessly spread his hands because he knew it was useless to argue with him.
‘Forget it, why bother arguing with him?’
"Then I'll put it another way." he said. "An alpha like you, who is arrogant, and stubborn, Wei Xiayang wouldn't look at you even if he were blind."
Du Guzhou's breath hitched as his face turned pale. He pursed his lips but was unable to retort.
He took two steps back before leaning on the chair as his eyes dulling.
Du Guzhou struggled to hold back, "You two Omegas won't last..."
Yue Chu chuckled lightly and did not take the issue to heart.
"If you can't change yourself, then change the world. I believe Xiayang has the ability to do that."
Du Guzhou couldn't help but glare with his fingers clenching, and a roar escaped his throat, "He's an Omegan! He needs protection, not to protect others!"
Yue Chu fiddled with the chains on his wrist with a glint of sharpness in his eyes, he retorted without hesitation, "You're wrong. He needs to be protected, and he can also protect others."
Yue Chu suddenly felt a bit bored as a hint of disinterest flashing in his eyes. He silently lowered his eyelids and stopped looking at Du Guzhou.
Du Guzhou's thinking was simply on a different level than his.
They were completely on different wavelengths, and every conversation ended in a stalemate.
He closed his mouth then lay back down, and closed his eyes, implying that Du Guzhou could leave.
Du Guzhou was so angry that his face flushed red.
The bulging veins on his neck twisted and spread.
He wanted to say something to retort, but he realized that no matter what he said, it would be beneath him. He could only clench his lips tightly with his anger trapped in his chest with nowhere to vent.
After sending Du Guzhou away, Yue Chu opened his eyes and summoned the system. The stage was set and all that was left was for the protagonist to appear.
Lu Yang's death had once again pushed the shelter to the forefront. After the previous scandal of seriously injuring a top Omega and falsely accusing a civilian Omega of being forcibly detained, the "murder to silence" charge was now being pinned on them.
Although Lu Yang wasn't a top alpha, the Lu family he was backed by was one of the great noble families. Their son was dead, and if they didn't react, they would truly be trampled upon.
When the walls crumble, everyone pushes.
The director and leader of the shelter were all dismissed, and they would face prosecution in the future.
They were truly surrounded on all sides.
At the same time, the legitimacy of the shelter was also questioned, not only by Omegas but also by betas from the middle class who sympathized with them.
Even though everything was developing for the better, Wei Xiayang was still frowning.
The large brown rectangular office desk made him look even thinner. His originally clear black and white eyes were now filled with bloodshot veins, sharp to the point of being intimidating.
Beep…
His communicator rang.
Wei Xiayang froze for a moment the rubbed his temples, and slowly opened the communicator. However, the message inside made him instantly widen his eyes in disbelief and stand up.
The heavy wooden chair scraped against the dark marble floor that made a grating sound that made one's scalp tingle. The hurried footsteps revealed the urgency of the person, causing one to involuntarily cast a questioning gaze at the figure rushing away.
"You can't go in! This is a private residence!!"
The security guard who rushed over anxiously tried to stop Wei Xiayang who was barging in, but he was ruthlessly pushed aside by the strong guards.
Wei Xiayang didn't even spare them a glance and just rushed forward, as if he wanted to shrink the distance to his destination in an instant.
His heart was racing, as if it were about to jump out of his chest and to find Yue Chu first.
He couldn't imagine what he would do if the final outcome was worse than he expected, because every time he thought about it, his heart ached as if it were being stabbed, making it hard for him to breathe.
Bang!
He burst through the door, and the scene before him made his eyes widen in horror and almost made him shed blood tears.
Yue Chu lay on the bed with his eyes closed with the white sheets contrasting with his pale skin and it was impossible to tell which was whiter and more dazzling.
The thin eyelids covered those star-like eyes, and up close, one could even see the faint purple capillaries on them. The long eyelashes cast a fan-shaped shadow under his eyes, fragile like a butterfly in winter that with a slight movement, it would cause its wings to fall.
Wei Xiayang trembled as he held Yue Chu's wrist, which was shackled with heavy black shackles, to his face and gently rubbed it against his cheek before leaving a kiss on the pale pink fingertips.
Yue Chu opened his eyes groggily, and upon seeing someone in front of him, his first reaction was to shrink back, but Wei Xiayang grabbed his wrist.
Wei Xiayang's voice trembled, "Xiao Chu, it's me..."
Yue Chu finally saw the person in front of him as a hint of uncertainty flashed in his eyes, and only after touching Wei Xiayang's skin did he realize that it was really him.
He smiled as he stretched out his arms to hug Wei Xiayang's neck, which caused the movement of the chains on his wrist clinked together and made a crisp sound.
"Xiayang, I knew you would come to save me."
A flash of blood appeared in Wei Xiayang's eyes, like a sharpened blade and emitting a dazzling chill. But his voice was gentle, even with a hint of undisguised choking.
"Don't be afraid, I'm here."
He had someone bring tools to cut off the shackles on Yue Chu's wrist, and he held him tightly in his arms and felt his warmth.
"I'll take you out first, and after you rest for a while, tell me who took you away."
Hearing this, Yue Chu hesitated as a hint of difficulty appeared between his brows, and after a moment, he slowly nodded, as if he had something to hide.
Wei Xiayang subtly frowned in his heart.
‘Who could it be that made Yue Chu even hide it from him?’
"Who are you? Who allowed you to break in?"
A familiar voice rang out that instantly caused Wei Xiayang to turn his head, and he saw Du Guzhou standing at the door.
It was Du Guzhou!
A surge of anger rose in Wei Xiayang's chest, making him ache, as if he had been scorched by a hot iron, emitting a sizzling sound of burnt flesh.
He glared and wished he could eat the tall alpha in front of him alive.
‘How dare he?!’
‘Why did Du Guzhou hide Yue Chu? Did he discover that as a top Omega, Yue Chu was more gentle and beautiful, and realizing that their engagement might not last, so he took the initiative? He was truly... despicable!’
Wei Xiayang was also momentarily blinded by anger, so he fell into the common misconception that alphas only have love for Omegas, and not anything else.
In fact, if you think about it carefully, Du Guzhou had always only had disgust for Yue Chu and not liked him at all.
Yue Chu seemed worried because he gently tugged on Wei Xiayang's sleeve before softly comforting him, "Maybe... Du Guzhou didn't mean to..."
However, the red mark on his delicate wrist made those words seem particularly pale and powerless, and just by listening to them made one feel sad.
Wei Xiayang felt heartbroken and wished he could hold the person tightly in his arms as the two of them curled up together, back to back, until the end of the world.
Perhaps that way, Yue Chu wouldn't be hurt anymore.
Wei Xiayang reached out and covered Yue Chu's small, delicate face with his hand with his cold gaze carrying a chilling chill while looking at Du Guzhou. It no longer held the warmth and affection of the past.
The undisguised hostility made Du Guzhou almost unable to stand as he staggered back a step, until he leaned against the wooden frame to stabilize himself.
He took a deep breath and opened his mouth to explain something. But in the face of this situation, it seemed like all explanations became cover-ups.
Yue Chu leaned his head against Wei Xiayang's chest before subtly curling his lips into a smile. His one hand tugged on Wei Xieyang sleeve to shake it because he did not want to have Du Guzhou any chance to explain.
"Xiayang, let's go. I don't want to see you two argue for me."
Wei Xiayang's heart softened like water as he gently stroked Yue Chu's soft black hair and pulled him closer to his chest.
He held Yue Chu and walked towards Du Guzhou with his eyes indifferent and devoid of emotion, as if looking at a stranger, no, not even as good as a stranger.
They had become enemies.
Wei Xiayang said, "Our engagement is broken! If there's a next time, there will be a battle between us!"
Du Guzhou opened his eyes in disbelief and try to reach out to grab Wei Xiayang's sleeve to hold him back, but he only caught air.
He stood stiffly at the empty doorway with his face pale as snow, and finally he could only slowly clench his fingers and hang them by his side with his tightly pursed lips revealing a hint of stubbornness.
He would absolutely, absolutely not break off the engagement!
