Chapter 1: Let him know the dangers of online dating

Online Dating Fiasco with the Campus Heartthrob (DATING)

On Wednesday afternoon, Ji Su went alone to the music club.

The sunlight was just right, and the handsome and tall young man wore a hoodie and blue jeans, walking down the corridor with a single-shoulder bag.

The breeze from outside brushed through his slightly long black hair, and even the shadow cast on the wall was breathtakingly beautiful, causing passing students to frequently turn their heads.

Ji Su was a sophomore in the architecture department at A University.

When he first entered the school as a freshman and before he could even figure things out, he was pulled into the music club by an enthusiastic senior, thus becoming the club's poster boy and face.

Fortunately, he had learned various musical instruments since childhood and picked them up quickly, so he didn't just end up being a mascot in the club.

As Ji Su approached the music club's door, he heard a familiar piano melody inside. A rendition of "Wedding in the Dream" that was full of twists and turns, and was extremely sorrowful.

He paused as he sensed that something was amiss.

Pushing open the ajar door, he saw a long-haired girl sitting at the black and white piano with her fingers flying across the keys.

The piano music suddenly halted for a few seconds, and in the next moment, seamlessly switched to "Croatian Rhapsody," as if the air was thick with the smell of gunpowder.

Ji Su blinked and prepared to quietly exit the music room.

At that moment, the girl playing the piano turned to look at him with her tears falling like broken strings of pearls: "Little Su Su, your senior has been dumped….wuwu..."

Ji Su was stunned for a moment, then stepped forward to comfort her: "Out with the old, in with the new. Senior, don't be too sad."

"Though that's true, I can't accept it!" Lin Yan suddenly raised her voice, "That bastard scammed me out of money and sex, and then dared to block me, ahhh!"

"Senior, calm down!" Ji Su hurriedly soothed, "What exactly happened? Tell me slowly."

Thus, Lin Yan, with tears and snot, recounted her brief and tragic experience of online dating while mixed with countless curses for the scammer.

"Online dating?" Ji Su widened his eyes slightly, not quite understanding, "You've never even met, and you were willing to spend so much money on him?"

Lin Yan choked up: "I admit I have a bit of a love-struck brain..."

Ji Su: "..."

Just a bit?

"You have transaction records of the money you spent on him, he can't deny it." Ji Su thought seriously for a moment, then offered advice, "How about this, you ask him for the money back first, and if he refuses, then I'll help you think of other ways."

"I don't dare because he has something on me." Lin Yan lowered her head as her voice was as soft as a mosquito's hum, "I sent him... those kinds of videos, I'm afraid he'll expose them, and I won't be able to face anyone."

Ji Su didn't react immediately: "What kind of videos?"

Lin Yan continued to hum: "Just those..."

Ji Su's heart skipped a beat as his brow furrowed: "Senior, how could you dare to send those to an online lover—"

Lin Yan was even more aggrieved: "At that time, I didn't know that bastard was a bastard..."

Having been scammed out of money and sex was already miserable, and Ji Su couldn't bear to scold her further, so he could only continue to comfort her: "He probably wouldn't dare to do something illegal, even if he really posted something, you could still find him."

"But by then, I wouldn't be able to face anyone." Lin Yan covered her face with her hands, "I really hate myself. I want to die.…wuwu..."

"Senior!" Ji Su was startled and his tone turned serious. "Do you think it's worth dying over a scumbag?"

"No, it's not worth it..." Lin Yan wiped her tears fiercely as her voice filled with determination. "Ji Su, you're right! I want revenge!"

Ji Su remained silent for a few seconds before asking, "Senior, how do you plan to get revenge?"

Lin Yan's blurred gaze slowly shifted to his face, and a bold idea suddenly emerged in her mind.

The boy in front of her had sharp and delicate features, and his fair skin was glowing like a polished jade.

His straight nose was complemented by full lips, with a small lip bead on his upper lip that softened the coldness in his eyes and added a hint of allure.

In four words, he had the kind of appearance that men loved the most—pure yet seductive.

Lin Yan grabbed Ji Su's arm and spoke rapidly, "Little Susu, go have an online romance with him for me. Help your senior get revenge by tricking that scumbag into sending his nude photos!"

"Ah?" Ji Su looked utterly bewildered. "Senior, I'm a guy."

Lin Yan glared fiercely, "Exactly because you're a guy, and because you're bigger than him, you have to show him the dangers of online romance!"

Ji Su blurted out, "Senior, how do you know I—"

Lin Yan let go of his arm while her voice slightly faltered. "Once during a club gathering, you wore white pants, and someone accidentally spilled water on you. I accidentally saw... just a glance..."

Ji Su instinctively looked down while his snow-white face instantly turned bright red.

"Please help your senior, Little Susu." Tears welled up in Lin Yan's large, doe-like eyes. "It doesn’t matter if I get the money back, but if I don’t get revenge, I’ll be tormented, unable to sleep or eat, and then I’ll die with regret!"

Ji Su: "Is it really that serious..."

Lin Yan’s tone was resolute: "Yes!"

Ji Su sighed softly while weighing his words. "I can try, but I can’t guarantee success."

"Ahhh, Senior Sister loves you!" Lin Yan chose to ignore the latter part and excitedly lunged at him.

Ji Su subtly dodged to the side before pulling out his phone from his pocket. "Senior, send me his WeChat ID."

"That scumbag blocked me, and in a fit of anger, I deleted him too." Lin Yan thought for a moment. "But I remember his WeChat ID."

Ji Su nodded. "Then send it to me first. I’ll add him with a side account later."

Lin Yan nodded repeatedly. "OK, OK."

Ji Su took out his phone and noticed his roommate had sent him several messages.

Qiao Jin: [Susu, where are you?]

Qiao Jin: [The basketball game is about to start!]

"Senior, I have to go." Ji Su replied briefly and turned off his phone. "I won’t be attending today’s meeting."

"Alright, go ahead." Lin Yan made a cheering gesture. "Little Susu, you must add that scumbag and give him a taste of his own medicine. Help your senior get revenge!"

Ji Su: "I’ll do my best..."

...........

In the afternoon, it was the interdepartmental basketball match between the Finance and Law departments of University A.

The presence of two departments filled with male idols significantly boosted the game’s appeal.

As Ji Su approached the gymnasium, Qiao Jin, who was standing at the entrance, spotted him and immediately waved. "Susu, come quickly!"

Ji Su quickened his pace. "Why didn’t you go in first?"

"It’s fine, I asked someone to save us seats." Qiao Jin grabbed his arm and hurried inside.

"Hurry, hurry!"

The gymnasium was packed.

The two of them squeezed through the crowded aisles and finally made it to the second row.

"Qiao Jin, you’re finally here!" A short-haired girl picked up the bag she had placed on the adjacent seat. "If you hadn’t come soon, I wouldn’t have been able to hold the spot for you."

"Thank you, thank you!" Qiao Jin clasped his hands together in gratitude. "Beautiful, I’ll treat you to milk tea later."

As soon as they sat down, the atmosphere in the gymnasium suddenly became even more electrifying.

Ji Su turned his head toward the source of the commotion.

In the crowd, a tall boy was walking in their direction.

He was dressed in black casual wear, which couldn’t hide his broad shoulders, narrow waist, and long legs.

He was at least 190 cm tall.

But what was even more striking was his face—handsome and deep, like a sculpture, with a detached and cold expression.

Among the lively college boys, his handsomeness stood out.

"Ahhh!" Qiao Jin got excited and kept gripping Ji Su’s arm. "Gu Zhao! It’s Gu Zhao!"

"Ouch..." Ji Su inhaled lightly. "Who’s Gu Zhao?"

He thought his voice wasn’t loud, and the gymnasium was noisy, but the boy suddenly looked up with his dark eyes locking directly onto Ji Su’s direction.

Ji Su unconsciously pursed his lips, but the boy only glanced at him before sitting down in the first row.

"Gu Zhao, haven’t I told you about him?" Qiao Jin lowered his voice and started explaining. "Gu Zhao, the treasure of the Law Department, voted as the campus heartthrob on forums and public accounts. He’s 193 cm tall, the main player of the school basketball team and a swimming champion, with eight-pack abs and a perfect V-line. Rumor has it his family is also very wealthy. Aside from his aloof personality, he’s practically a flawless male god!"

Ji Su glanced at the figure sitting diagonally in front of him and nodded in agreement. "He does seem pretty cold."

That icy gaze earlier felt like it could freeze him into a human popsicle.

"Originally, I heard Gu Zhao wasn’t on today’s game roster, so I was disappointed." Qiao Jin’s voice unconsciously rose again. "What a pleasant surprise! Seeing him up close, he’s indeed so handsome that it’s almost infuriating!"

Ji Su chuckled softly. "Qiao Jin, calm down a bit."

"Calm down?" Qiao Jin’s eyes were practically glued to the back of Gu Zhao’s head. "Be honest, Susu, don’t you think Gu Zhao is handsome?"

Ji Su hesitated for a moment before replying softly, "He is quite handsome."

The boy in front of him had a kind of handsomeness that hit you head-on.

The type that both guys and girls could appreciate.

No wonder he was the campus heartthrob.

"Just like that?" Qiao Jin asked.

"Mm?" Ji Su responded.

"Sorry, I forgot you're straight," Qiao Jin said while patting his thigh. "If you were even a little bit gay, you'd understand the fatal attraction of the male god!"

Ji Su casually replied, "Well, I still prefer gentle and cute girls."

As soon as he finished speaking, Gu Zhao, sitting diagonally in front of them, suddenly turned his head and glanced at him.

Even though Gu Zhao was sitting lower, there was an indescribable sense of pressure when he looked up.

Ji Su pretended to remain calm as he avoided his gaze, and whispered, "Qiao Jin, stop talking. He's looking at us."

"Really?" Qiao Jin excitedly looked down, only to be met with the back of Gu Zhao's head.

Fortunately, the game started, and Qiao Jin's attention quickly shifted to the basketball court.

The players on the court were all over 180 cm tall, with one team in white jerseys and the other in black.

The match was evenly matched and fiercely contested.

Ji Su wasn't particularly passionate about basketball, but he patiently sat through the entire game to accompany his roommate.

"Yay!" Qiao Jin stood up excitedly as the game ended and even cupped his hands around his mouth to cheer. "The Law Department is amazing!"

Ji Su reminded him, "We're from the Architecture Department."

The next basketball game would be between the Architecture and Law Departments.

"So what?" Qiao Jin was already grinning from ear to ear. "My future boyfriend is in the Law Department, so I'm practically half a Law student!"

Ji Su: "..."

"Old Gu! How was the game?" At that moment, several boys in black jerseys, drenched in sweat, ran toward Gu Zhao.

One of them glanced at the second row and couldn't help but exclaim, "Holy shit!"

"What's up, Wang?" another boy asked while lifting his jersey to wipe his sweat. "Did you see a beaut—"

Before he could finish, his eyes met Ji Su's face, and he nearly bit his tongue.

Ji Su noticed they were all looking at him and tugged on Qiao Jin's sleeve. "Let's go, Qiao Jin. The game's over."

"No," Qiao Jin remained in place. "I haven't gotten his WeChat yet..."

Ji Su turned to him. "Whose WeChat do you want?"

Qiao Jin was too embarrassed to say it out loud and could only hint with his eyes.

Ji Su smiled and silently teased, "All talk and no action."

Qiao Jin was bold in front of him but couldn't muster the courage to speak up in front of the person he liked—a classic case of being all talk.

Qiao Jin made a pleading gesture, but his feet remained firmly planted.

Ji Su took his phone, opened the WeChat QR code, and walked straight up to a boy with a buzz cut. "Hi, my roommate has a legal question and was wondering if he could add your WeChat?"

Zhou Yang was stunned, pointing at himself in disbelief. "Me?"

His teammates started teasing him, but Gu Zhao remained calm while sitting in his chair with no expression.

Ji Su asked sincerely, "Is it inconvenient?"

"No, no, it's fine!" Zhou Yang quickly fumbled for his phone from his bag with his tanned face turning red.

After successfully adding WeChat, Ji Su politely thanked him and pulled the dazed Qiao Jin out of the gym.

The other teammates quickly gathered around to tease Zhou Yang.

"Not bad, Old Zhou! Your luck with the ladies is unstoppable—even guys are asking for your WeChat now!"

"Don't get too excited. He said it was for legal advice!"

"Who was that guy? He’s really good-looking. I suddenly think guys aren’t so bad..."

"You don’t know Ji Su?" Wang Mingzhe loudly explained. "He’s the beauty of the Architecture Department. Last year, a freshman was so mesmerized by him that he rode his bike straight into the Lovers’ Lake—instant fame!"

"Holy shit! That’s insane!"

"Wait, I didn’t see him. Is a guy really that good-looking?"

"I think Ji Su has a beauty that transcends gender—what they call ‘appealing to all.’" Wang Mingzhe smacked his lips and turned to Gu Zhao. "What do you think, Gu?"

Gu Zhao, with one hand in his pocket, replied coldly, "He’s alright."

Wang Mingzhe clearly wasn’t satisfied with the answer and pressed, "If he asked for your WeChat, would you give it to him?"

Gu Zhao slightly lowered his eyes and ruthlessly said, "No."
