Online Dating Fiasco with the Campus Heartthrob (DATING)
Back in the dorm, Ji Su had just placed his backpack on the table when he heard a loud shout.
"Ah! Zhou Yang accepted my WeChat request!" Qiao Jin excitedly threw his phone and lunged at him. "I really love you, Susu baby!"
Ji Su turned and blocked him with his elbow. "Calm down."
Qiao Jin, failing to get a hug, just settled for blowing him a kiss before rushing back to his desk and typing away on his phone.
Ji Su unzipped his backpack, took out his textbook, and casually remarked, "Though, I thought you liked the school heartthrob."
"Huh? The school heartthrob?" Qiao Jin turned his head. "You mean Gu Zhao?"
"Didn’t you say he was your male god?" Ji Su chuckled. "You know his profile better than the key points for finals."
"Hey! A male god is meant to be admired from afar and not to be touched," Qiao Jin said while shaking his head. "Besides, I’m not so delusional to think someone like me could ever win over Gu Zhao."
Ji Su shrugged. "Alright, then I wish you luck in winning over Zhou Yang."
He thought for a moment and added, "But Qiao Jin, I think Zhou Yang seems pretty straight."
Qiao Jin muttered, "Straight my ass. Would a straight guy blush just looking at you?"
Ji Su didn’t catch it. "What?"
"Ah, I mean he’s not as straight as he looks," Qiao Jin said with a grin. "Don’t worry, if he’s really that straight, I’ll back off in time."
"Alright, I believe you." Ji Su didn't continue the topic and instead pulled out his phone from his pocket then opened his WeChat.
Lin Yan: [Little Susu, have you added that scumbag on WeChat yet?]
Ji Su: [Not yet, senior. I need to create a fake account first.]
Lin Yan: [Good luck! I believe in you!]
Ji Su turned and asked, "Xiao Qiao, do you know how to register a fake WeChat account?"
"Easy. Just open a secondary phone number, and you can use that to register a fake WeChat account," Qiao Jin replied without looking up. "But why are you asking about this?"
Ji Su gestured, "Come over, I'll tell you."
Qiao Jin, sensing gossip, immediately put down his phone and moved his chair closer. "What's up?"
Ji Su briefly recounted the whole situation, though he omitted the senior's name.
"Holy crap! That's as shameless as an old lady eating porridge!" Qiao Jin jumped up in anger after hearing the story. "I, Qiao Jin, curse him to suffer from erectile dysfunction for life, and may his junk just snap off!"
"Uh... I'll thank the senior on your behalf," Ji Su paused, then continued, "If I can trick the scumbag into sending his private photos, the senior will feel more at ease."
He and the senior were from the same high school and had crossed paths a few times before.
After enrolling in university, the senior had helped him a lot and treated him like a younger brother.
Now that the senior was going through this, he wanted to do whatever he could to help.
Qiao Jin stroked his chin, "Honestly, this is a great plan. It’s both revenge and a way to get leverage on the scumbag. I’m all for it."
Ji Su frowned, "But I have no experience with online dating, let alone pretending to be a girl to flirt with a scumbag."
Qiao Jin rolled up his sleeves, "Don’t worry, I’ll help you with this too."
He swiftly applied for a secondary phone number and registered a fake WeChat account in one go.
"Disney Runaway Beauty," Qiao Jin typed in the WeChat nickname. "Let’s use a little kitten as the profile picture. Girls love using those."
Ji Su nodded beside him, "Yeah, that does look like a girl’s WeChat account."
After successfully registering, Qiao Jin carefully set the Moments to be visible for only the last three days.
He switched back to his main account to note down the scumbag’s WeChat ID, then returned to the fake account to add him as a friend.
"All done!" Qiao Jin handed the phone back to Ji Su. "Now we just wait for the scumbag to accept the request."
"Alright," Ji Su took the phone. "As a thank you, I’ll treat you to some spicy chicken at the second cafeteria tonight."
Just as he finished speaking, the dorm door was pushed open from the outside, and a tall, burly guy strode in energetically. "Who’s treating me to spicy chicken?"
"Sorry, you misheard," Qiao Jin shrugged. "It’s me."
"Eating alone is just too much!" Zhao Ziyun lifted the hem of his jersey to wipe the sweat off his face. "Li You and I were sweating it out on the court for the honor of our architecture department, and you guys aren’t even taking us for spicy chicken!"
As he spoke, the tall and slender Li You squeezed in behind him. "Wait, I’m going to take a shower first."
Qiao Jin chuckled, "Don’t train too hard, you two. It’s not like we’re going to beat the law department anyway."
"What?" Zhao Ziyun wasn’t having it as his eyes were widening like copper bells. "Qiao Jin, are you even part of our architecture department? How can you boost their morale and dampen ours!"
"Ah, I don’t want to either," Qiao Jin sighed, then posed a soul-crushing question. "But Gu Zhao is playing in the next game. Do you guys really have confidence?"
Zhao Ziyun: "I, I, I—"
He wanted to talk tough, but he just didn’t have the confidence.
His slightly rugged face turned red.
Qiao Jin was about to add more salt to the wound when Ji Su interrupted, "I’ll treat everyone to spicy chicken tonight. No one’s left out."
"Ha! Ji Su’s the best!" Zhao Ziyun revived instantly and reached out to pat Ji Su’s slender shoulder. "You’re a true bro!"
Ji Su, caught off guard, swayed slightly from the force of the pat but pretended nothing happened as he steady himself by holding onto the edge of the table.
...........
The next morning, as soon as Ji Su woke up, he opened the fake WeChat account and was surprised to find that the other party hadn’t accepted his friend request yet.
After some thought, he figured it was probably because the scumbag had just recently wronged the senior and was feeling guilty, so he didn’t dare accept a stranger’s friend request so easily.
Ji Su sat on his bed and opened Baidu to search for "how to add strangers on WeChat."
After reading through several guides, he decided to try adding the friend again and this time, it include a verification note: "Hi, senior, I’m Mengmeng~"
He also added a cute emoji at the end.
After sending it, Ji Su got up to wash up and get ready for class.
Just as he reached the classroom, his pocket buzzed.
Ji Su breathed a sigh of relief, took out his phone, and opened the chat window between them.
He carefully selected a cute sticker from the emoji library and sent it.
Disney Runaway Beauty: [Peeking cat.jpg]
G: [?]
Disney Runaway Beauty: [Hi, senior, I’m Mengmeng, a freshman in the music department.]
G: [What’s up?]
Disney Runaway Beauty: [I saw you playing basketball the other day and thought you were really handsome.]
After sending this, Ji Su looked at the chat window while feeling like his tone might have been a bit stiff, so he sent another sticker.
Disney Runaway Beauty: [Shy cat.jpg]
According to the information from the senior, the scumbag was also a college student from a nearby school who loved playing basketball and had even swindled several pairs of limited-edition basketball shoes from the senior.
Using basketball as an entry point should pique his interest, right?
However, after sending this message, there was no reply for a long time.
Ji Su bit the end of his pen while wondering which part of his message had gone wrong.
That couldn’t be it.
He had only sent two sentences and two stickers after adding him.
At this moment, Qiao Jin leaned over and whispered, "Susu, why do you look so troubled early in the morning?"
Ji Su replied in a low voice, "I added that scumbag on WeChat, but the conversation isn't going well."
"Let me see," Qiao Jin looked at the phone screen and chuckled, "Wow, this jerk is putting on quite the aloof act."
Ji Su felt a bit more confident: "Right? I thought my opening line was fine."
"Just chat casually for now. These players will quickly reveal their true colors," Qiao Jin poked the screen forcefully, "Let's see how long he can keep up the act."
.........
Over the next few days, Ji Su kept switching between his two WeChat accounts and racking his brains to keep the conversation going.
He even went online to study how girls chat, and even added some cute filler words to appear more adorable.
But from morning greetings to goodnight messages, the scumbag never replied.
On the weekend evening, Ji Su opened his alternate WeChat account again and stare at his one-sided chat history with a headache.
"Qiao Jin," Ji Su had to seek outside help, "Come take a look. Do you think he's blocked my messages?"
Qiao Jin, who had been getting cozy with Zhou Yang these past two days and hadn’t paid much attention to Ji Su’s progress, hurried over, "What’s up? Trouble with the scumbag?"
Ji Su lit up his phone screen: "More than just trouble."
"Damn!" Qiao Jin took the phone and scrolled up, "He hasn’t replied to a single message?"
Ji Su sighed helplessly: "So I’m wondering if he’s blocked me."
Qiao Jin’s eyes sparkled: "Let me analyze this. This scumbag might be more popular than we thought, and his WeChat list probably has more girls than we imagined."
Ji Su was a bit annoyed: "Even so, not replying at all is really rude."
"But looking at your chat history, it is a bit dull," Qiao Jin pondered, "Ji Su, you need to bring up topics that interest scumbags."
Ji Su humbly asked: "What topics?"
"Of course, something spicy!" Qiao Jin smirked mischievously, "No man can resist that, especially straight guys whose minds are wired that way!"
"Are you sure?" Ji Su wrinkled his nose, "Wouldn’t starting with that seem too…"
"Look, your moments don't have any pretty photos, and he doesn’t even know what you look like. How could he be interested in chatting with you?" Qiao Jin said with certainty, "So now, we need to pique his interest!"
Ji Su: "…"
"Come on, come on!" Qiao Jin exited WeChat and opened the camera, "Let’s take a live shot."
Ji Su instinctively raised his hand to cover his face: "No way, it’ll be obvious I’m a guy."
"Relax, I won’t take your face," Qiao Jin moved the phone, and the lens captured two long legs in jeans, "Let’s take a leg photo to tantalize the scumbag."
Ji Su’s gaze followed downward: "What’s so special about legs?"
"Ah, you don’t get it!" Qiao Jin looked like it was hard to explain, "You have no idea how much your legs align with men’s aesthetic preferences!"
Ji Su: "…"
"Wait, Ji Su, change into shorts but not too long," Qiao Jin meticulously controlled the details, "Preferably white ones."
Ji Su: "Why?"
Qiao Jin: "Do you still want to avenge your senior?"
After a few seconds of staring at each other, Ji Su expressionlessly pulled out a pair of white shorts from the wardrobe and went to the bathroom to change.
When he came out, Qiao Jin’s eyes were glued to those jade-like long legs, and he couldn’t help but whistle.
Ji Su: "Get lost…"
Under Qiao Jin’s guidance, Ji Su sat on a chair, posed, and took a leg photo from a top-down angle.
After taking it, he didn’t even want to look at it much.
He opened his alternate WeChat account and sent the photo directly to G: "Sent it."
"Damn! You didn’t even show me first!" Qiao Jin snatched the phone, then clicked on the photo on the screen, and instantly gasped.
The person in the photo is wearing a pair of white cotton shorts, revealing a section of their slender, well-proportioned thigh. The skin is snow-white and smooth with a slight softness, so tender that a light pinch seems to leave a mark on it.
But the most provocative was the red mole on the soft flesh of the inner thigh and faintly visible in the gap, as if intentionally leaving room for imagination.
If one were to gently touch that red mole, would these flawless jade legs tremble sensitively…
"Truly… absolutely stunning," Qiao Jin licked his lips, "Not just straight guys, even a pure-blooded guy like me can’t resist."
Ji Su, feeling even more embarrassed by his praise, snatched the phone back: "Aren’t you a bottom? You should like guys with eight-pack abs."
"Oh, my dear Ji Su!" Qiao Jin made a heart-holding gesture, "If it’s you, I’m willing to be a top for love!"
Ji Su: "…"
A "buzz" sounded, and WeChat received a new message.
G: [Is that your leg in the photo?]
Ji Su looked at the phone screen: "He replied."
"I told you!" Qiao Jin laughed heartily, "Whether he’s a straight guy or a scumbag, this trick definitely works!"
Ji Su glanced at the photo in the chat box as his ears faintly warming. Before the time limit, he clicked to retract the photo.
Qiao Jin panicked: "Hey! Ji Su, why did you retract the photo?"
Ji Su typed with his head down: "He only needed to see it once."
Disney Runaway Beauty: [Sorry, senior, I sent that photo to the wrong person.]
"Wow…" Qiao Jin’s expression changed and his tone filled with respect, "You’re a master, Ji Su. You’re actually a hidden master!"
Ji Su raised his eyelashes: "What?"
"Playing hard to get and leaving him wanting more, making the scumbag drool while also making him think you might be playing with other men. It can create a sense of crisis," Qiao Jin analyzed seriously with his chin propped, "What an ultimate push and pull!"
Ji Su: "…"
What on earth is all this? He just didn’t want some sleazy guy fantasizing over a photo of his legs.
As he spoke, two new messages popped up on his phone.
G: [It’s fine.]
G: [Are those your legs in the photo?]
Even though Ji Su couldn’t see the other person’s expression through the screen, the tone of these two messages was noticeably softer than the initial.
With just a partially revealed photo of legs, the "Disney runaway beauty" received the most enthusiastic response ever.
