The Green Tea is Always Targeting The Wrong Person (GREENTEA)
"What are you doing?!"
A furious roar shattered the silence of the square and drew everyone's attention.
It turned out that Xinuo, who was walking too fast in his anger had collided with Salu, a low-level maid who was walking with her head down and hadn't seen him.
Logically, with Xino's abilities, such a collision should have been impossible, yet it had happened in a bizarre twist of fate.
Salu was startled and the bottles and jars she was carrying fell to the ground with a series of sharp, piercing sounds that echoed across the square. The little maid was so frightened that she almost burst into tears. She hastily knelt on the ground and hoped to beg for forgiveness, only to realize it was Prince Xino she had collided with.
Salu's chubby little face lit up with surprise, and she clapped a hand over her mouth to stop herself from crying out Prince Xino's name in her excitement.
Her panic subsided; after all, it had been an accident, and given Prince Xino's nature, he probably wouldn't punish her harshly.
But what happened next shocked her to the core.
"A mere E-rank maid dares to run around the castle like this? Where are your manners?"
Xino stood there coldly as his crimson eyes filled with simmering rage, like molten lava that were ready to erupt. His power lifted Salu by the neck into the air, and no matter how she struggled or pleaded, his grip didn't loosen in the slightest.
Feilin frowned slightly and a flicker of disapproval in her eyes. She wanted to step forward and intervene but stopped herself.
She nudged Dila: "You go."
Dila pointed at himself, nearly breaking down: Me? Are you sure you want me to face the prince's wrath?
"Your Highness, please calm down."
At that moment, a clear voice rang out, like a spring of cool water descending from the sky onto the scorching, steaming sand.
Yue Chu had somehow appeared.
The silver moonlight seemingly favoured him as it cast a beautiful halo over his jet-black hair.
Even in this situation, his smile remained gentle and composed. Though he was a Blood Clan member from the wilderness, he carried an air of nobility and grace that outshone many of the royal Blood Clan members, making the nobles standing beside him seem dull in comparison.
"Your Highness, do you remember who she is?"
Yue Chu's question left everyone puzzled. Xino, who had expected to be reprimanded, grew suspicious and loosened his grip slightly to examine the girl.
He truly didn't recognize her.
Xino: "A mere maid, how would I know her?"
Yue Chu chuckled, because it was expected.
He knew it was Salu's wishful thinking.
Watching the despair on the little maid's face, he shook his head inwardly with pity.
The Cinderella dream was just a fairy tale; after all, even Cinderella was of noble birth.
Yue Chu bowed respectfully and performed a standard noble salute to Xino. "My deepest apologies, Your Highness. She is my maid. If she has offended you, I beg your forgiveness."
Xino was momentarily stunned—this was Yue Chu's subordinate.
A shadow passed over his face.
All his recent troubles had started since Yue Chu's arrival. He didn't dare vent his anger on his father, but he didn't take Yue Chu seriously at all.
He casually threw the maid to the ground and watched her clutch her chest and spit out blood in pain. He coldly smirked: "If you don't teach them manners, I'll have to do it for you."
Yue Chu remained calm and his bowed posture unwavering as he spoke steadily: "Thank you for your guidance, Your Highness. It is our honor."
Yue Chu's demeanor was so humble that even Feilin couldn't bear to watch and turned her gaze away.
Everyone knew Xino was just using this as an excuse to vent his anger, but no one wanted to stop him.
After all, the life or death of a mere maid meant nothing to them.
People are like that—they don't understand pain until it's their own. Using someone else's life to curry favor with the beloved prince seemed like a good deal to them.
If Xino stopped now, it would show his grace and magnanimity, but Yue Chu knew he wouldn't.
He was a spoiled brat who was used to his privileged position, and any minor inconvenience would set him off. Moreover, he didn't want to control himself.
Yue Chu subtly curled his lips.
Some people want to have their cake and eat it too, always feeling constrained by their heir status while being accustomed to the superiority it brings.
Xino flexed his wrist and a flash of bloodlust in his eyes: "You know your place."
But as he spoke, he moved.
His formidable power surged mercilessly toward Salu with a vicious grin on his face and eager to see if Yue Chu's calm facade would crack.
A loud bang echoed as the force struck the ground that created a spider web of cracks. A thick cloud of smoke rose that obscured what had happened.
Xino smirked in satisfaction and straightened his sleeves then stepped back to admire his handiwork. His golden hair shone brighter than the moon, yet it was strangely blinding.
Feilin bit her red lip and her long nails digging into her palm. She wasn't mourning the fate of a mere maid but sensing that something was subtly shifting.
Dila scratched his head and opened his mouth to speak but found himself at a loss for words.
But undoubtedly, Xino's actions were not well-received.
As the smoke cleared, a figure emerged that was kneeling on the ground and was covered in wounds. His bloodstained hands had formed a protective shield around the two of them.
Yue Chu stood up slowly.
His black robes riddled with small cuts and dust settled on his hair and clothes, making him look somewhat disheveled. Yet his calm smile remained radiant.
He had protected Salu.
Yue Chu chuckled softly: "Your Highness is truly formidable. My maid has learned her lesson. Would you be so kind as to spare her this time?"
Xino's face darkened.
In his anger, he had unleashed at least half his power and was expecting a fatal outcome, only for Yue Chu to block it. This was a blow to his pride. But if he attacked again now, it would make him seem overly aggressive.
Xino adjusted the crimson gemstone ring on his finger while his sharp gaze sweeping over Yue Chu: "There won't be a next time."
Yue Chu bowed his head respectfully once more: "Thank you, Your Highness."
………..
Back in the castle
"Salu, are you okay? If you're scared, I can call another maid to stay with you."
The Blood Clan's healing abilities were strong, and Yue Chu had blocked the fatal blow, so Salu's injuries weren't severe. But the girl was trembling and curled up in a ball while her eyes filled with disbelieving tears. Her soul seemingly had fled to the heavens.
Salu grabbed Yue Chu's sleeve while tears streamed down her face as she shook her head. She wasn't scared, but...
Why had Prince Xino become like this?
The beautiful memories shattered into pieces, and the image of those crimson eyes filled with murderous intent etched into her mind, suffocating her. Only by facing Prince Xino directly did she realize how terrifying those eyes were. She had thought she was doomed but she never expected that Yue Chu, whom she had often defied, would step in to protect her.
She wiped her tears with her sleeve.
The elder who had transformed her had once said that appearances could be deceiving, but she hadn't taken it seriously. Only today did she realize that sometimes those who seem good aren't, and those who seem bad aren't either.
She sniffled, and with her nose red, she choked out: "Thank you for saving me, my lord. I've been disrespectful to you before, yet you never held it against me. This time, you even risked your life to... to stand against Prince Xino. I will remember your kindness forever and will serve you diligently to repay you."
Salu couldn't think of anything she could do for her lord, because she was weak. All she could do was take care of his daily needs.
Yue Chu smiled faintly: "You're my subordinate, so naturally, I'll protect you. As for Prince Xino... he didn't mean it. He seemed upset during the exam today and might have taken it out on you."
Salu bit her lip and lowered her eyes then nodded slightly.
Only someone as kind as Yue Chu would always consider others' feelings and was afraid she might be hurt by that hypocrite. Remembering how her noble lord had bowed deeply for her today, Salu's fingers dug into the bed frame.
Yue Chu didn't say more and just tucked her in then blowing out the candle before leaving.
The little bear burst out in fury: "You… big brother, dad, what are you doing???"
Was it necessary to use Green Tea Skills on such an insignificant maid? And instead of focusing on the main quest, he was off starting some strange side quest—what was he thinking?
The little bear was utterly confused.
If it had a CPU, it would probably be overheating by now.
Yue Chu calmly adjusted his sleeves while his gaze sweeping over the dimly lit corridor, and said softly: "If you don't understand, don't ask."
The little bear was so angry that it almost started whimpering.
It was the system! The system! How could a host be so arrogant?
The little bear: "I will ask! I will!"
Yue Chu pushed its head away: "Did you complete the last world's quest?"
The little bear was instantly speechless. It seemed like it hadn't done much...
Yue Chu glanced at it: "So, keep quiet and go watch your anime."
Fine, you're the boss.
The little bear silently zipped its mouth and decided to be a hands-off observer and go watch its anime.
