The Green Tea is Always Targeting The Wrong Person (GREENTEA)
Lafa lowered his gaze and forcibly shifted his attention.
Yue Chu was indeed exceptionally talented because with just a bit of guidance, he could grasp the essence of things. It was no wonder the usually strict Lutz was so fond of him.
He couldn’t help but look at this beautiful child.
Unlike Xino, Yue Chu always appeared gentle and soft. Treating those around him with patience and care, never using his status to suppress them.
Yet, Lafa didn’t dislike this gentleness, for Yue Chu’s softness was a tolerance tempered by resilience and not an endless concession.
Life in the outer city was countless times more arduous.
Even someone as strong as Yue Chu, and due to his young age, had not yet grown to an invincible state. He would have to endure many hardships, even near-death experiences to gradually become powerful.
If…
Lafa occasionally had this fleeting thought—if Yue Chu had always lived by his side and nurtured by him, would he have already grown into a Prince capable of standing on his own?
However, this thought was quickly extinguished.
No matter what, his decision had been made, and Xino was also a good child who would undoubtedly become a powerful King in the future.
Lafa avoided Yue Chu’s expectant gaze and didn’t even reach out to help the child still sitting on the eaves. He turned around and was ready to leave but someone grabbed his sleeve.
Yue Chu whispered, “Your Majesty, I’ll be leaving in a few days. Before I go, can I selfishly ask you to spend some time with me?”
His voice was so fragile, like a newly sprouted leaf that would tear at the slightest touch.
Lafa’s long-dormant heart trembled slightly.
He frowned tightly before slowly pulling his sleeve from Yue Chu’s grasp.
When he turned his head, he met those slightly moist eyes.
The faint redness around them, like they had been stained by roses, carried a fragile beauty that made it hard to refuse.
Lafa relented.
He had already deprived Yue Chu of so much; he couldn’t refuse such a simple request.
In a deep voice, he said, “Wipe the blood from the corner of your mouth and I can only stay with you for a short while.”
Yue Chu smiled immediately with his eyes curving like crescent moons and the corners of his lips lifting as if holding a freshly brewed moonlight wine, clear and enchanting.
He pointed to the highest rooftop, “Then, Your Majesty, could you accompany me to the highest point? I’d like to admire this beautiful moonlit night with you.”
Lafa gave him a faint look as he sigh inwardly.
Was even this last wish so humble?
Wrapped in a black cloak, Yue Chu was taken by Lafa to the highest rooftop, where they stood side by side and less than half a meter apart.
From there, the entire royal city was visible, lit up and bustling, and as serene as a holy land.
Yue Chu used his fingers to smooth his wind-tousled long hair. The countless lights reflected in his crimson eyes, making them sparkle brilliantly.
He took a deep breath and sighed softly, “It’s so beautiful.”
He turned his head to look at the tall Vampire King.
Just standing beside this person brought a sense of security. He was so unattainable, yet like a deity, one who dared not act out of line.
Yue Chu chuckled lightly and pointed to the northwest, “Your Majesty, that’s Qiongbei, my territory. If there’s a chance in the future, I’d like to invite you to visit. Although it’s not as stable or prosperous as the royal city, it has its own unique charm and beauty.”
Qiongbei?
Lafa remembered this place.
It was under the control of the second-generation vampire noble, Anses.
It wasn’t particularly wealthy, but it was decent. However, since Anses fell into a deep sleep two years ago, the area had become unstable, which explained why Yue Chu was being hunted by hunters.
Lafa replied, “Alright.”
Meanwhile, Feilin and Xino had the biggest conflict in their history.
Compared to Dila, who often barked and bared his teeth, the usually silent Feilin was actually more opinionated and strong-willed.
This beautiful and powerful female vampire couldn’t understand why Xino repeatedly sneaked out and even blatantly defied His Majesty’s orders to venture into human territory.
Feilin pressed her red lips together and her beautiful and charming face sharp as a blade while pointing directly at Xino without hesitation.
She was Xino’s subordinate, but also his right-hand man. She couldn’t remain silent in the face of such serious issues.
Feilin said, “Your Highness, no matter what you plan to do, you should inform Dila and me beforehand. We are your people and will always stand by your side to cover for you. But if you don’t tell us anything, we’ll be left in the dark and unable to respond in time.”
Xino, already extremely irritated, didn’t want to face Feilin’s questioning.
He was even more furious that Feilin dared to speak to him in such a manner. Feilin and Dila were merely subordinates chosen by his father. Did they really think they could ride over him and dictate his actions?
Still, he valued their years of camaraderie and forcibly suppressed his anger, “This matter has nothing to do with you.”
Feilin laughed bitterly.
How could it not have anything to do with her? If Xino continued like this, she would undoubtedly face punishment, and all the efforts she and her family had made over the years would be in vain.
Moreover, if Xino kept challenging His Majesty’s limits, it could lead to disastrous consequences.
Yes, His Majesty was currently suppressing Yue Chu to secure Xino’s position. But the emergence of another pureblood undoubtedly turned the choice from one into two.
Feilin tried to calm her emotions and knelt on one knee before Xino, “Your Highness, I’m not trying to interfere with your decisions. I just hope you can trust me and let me assist you.”
But Xino didn’t want to listen.
Anna was his everything; he couldn’t allow any threats to exist.
Xino looked at her coldly, unmoved even by Feilin’s pleading eyes, “I said, stay out of it. Get out now!”
Feilin shouted in disbelief, “Your Highness!”
“Get out!”
With a loud crash, Xino overturned the table, and the hard ornaments on it struck Feilin’s delicate face before rolling to the ground.
Feilin stiffly stood up then bowed respectfully and slowly, slowly retreated with Dila.
Dila looked at her with concern and sighed deeply, “Feilin, are you… are you okay?”
Feilin smoothed her slightly disheveled long hair while her charming eyes coldly sweep over him and her voice hoarse and slightly choked, “You idiot, do I look okay to you?”
Dila didn’t know what to say.
He was always awkward with words and didn’t know how to comfort people. He could only carefully embrace the usually strong Feilin and silently offer her solace.
Feilin slowly closed her eyes as her heart sank to the bottom.
.............
Early in the morning, Yue Chu arrived at the gathering point. Many vampires were already there, and they nodded politely when they saw him.
The trial mission this time was to eliminate the Flame Army invading Nanshan.
The Flame Army was also a hunter team but compared to ordinary hunters, they were more disciplined and cooperative with formidable strength and determined to eradicate vampires.
However, the group assigned to Yue Chu was not the main force but a small squad. Otherwise, with the strength of these young vampires, they would likely be walking to their deaths.
Yue Chu stood quietly.
Over the past few days, he had carefully studied the Flame Army’s combat methods and didn’t feel nervous about the upcoming trial. The other vampires, however, were both excited and anxious while pacing back and forth like caged beasts.
Yue Chu looked around then glanced at the large clock and couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.
It was almost time but Xino was still nowhere to be seen.
This Prince was truly bold.
Feilin and Dila were equally uneasy but could only silently pray in their hearts that the Prince would hurry over.
Dong~
The clock rang.
Signaling the start of the trial.
Lafa’s face was icy with his flowing silver hair swaying slightly in the wind.
His towering anger slowly settled in his eyes then turned into indifference.
The trial was Xino’s only chance to escape surveillance. He had thought this situation wouldn’t happen, but his trusted heir truly disregarded the bigger picture.
He stood up and announced the start of the trial.
Lafa looked at Yue Chu, “Yue Chu, will you lead this trial?”
Yue Chu was the only pureblood present; only he could temporarily command respect in this critical moment.
Yue Chu smiled with his gaze as firm as an arrow flying straight ahead, “As Your Majesty commands!”
He took the lead until his figure disappeared outside the city gate like a black shadow. Other vampires followed him without hesitation and silently infiltrated Nan Shan.
Yue Chu’s keen eyesight allowed him to clearly capture the movements of the Flame Army, who were currently chasing a group of low-level vampires.
This was the first time Feilin and the others witnessed the persecution of vampires by humans.
The bloody scene before them was utterly shocking because they always thought humans were as weak and powerless as vampire slaves, but the humans before them were clearly wielding butcher knives, while the vampires, who should have been the hunters, had become the prey.
A few hot-blooded vampires clenched their teeth and were ready to charge but Yue Chu’s cold glare rooted them to the spot.
Though Yue Chu usually appeared gentle and easygoing, his aura right now was terrifyingly intimidating that effectively quelled the restless vampires.
Yue Chu made a gesture and signaled the vampires to set up an ambush as he instructed.
Many members of the Flame Army wore silver armor and a direct confrontation would put the vampires at a disadvantage.
Yue Chu narrowed his eyes as he silently followed the army and waited for the right moment. When the army entered the dense forest, he swiftly moved behind one of them and cleanly slit his throat.
The army reacted and tried to counterattack, but a wire net fell from the sky that trapped them.
They struggled to get up but the sudden ambush had already given the vampires an opportunity. The strong vampires held the net firmly and restricted their movements while the others mercilessly took their lives.
Yue Chu watched calmly and only stepped in when one vampire excitedly tried to bite a human soldier’s neck. He grabbed the vampire and threw him to the ground.
His cold blood-red eyes swept over the vampire like a blade while his voice was soft but chilling, “These humans have toxins deadly to vampires. Did you sleep through your strategy classes?”
The vampire awkwardly got up and guiltily rubbed his nose. He had indeed zoned out during class.
To cover his mistake, he quickly pounced on more soldiers and was determined to kill a few to save face.
The battle ended with an overwhelming victory for the vampires. The bodies of the Flame Army were piled up like a mountain and casually discarded by the vampires.
Not far away, the low-level vampires covered their wounds while shivering as they watched.
To them, high-level vampires weren’t necessarily allies. Many high-level vampires, who are looking down on their lower status, would mercilessly kill them.
Yue Chu smiled gently and his warm expression under the moonlight appeared particularly kind. He reached out to the low-level vampires, “Don’t be afraid. We won’t harm you. You can go home now.”
