Chapter 204: A’ Mo: Uninvited, deserved!

Marshal, Please Calm Down (MARSHAL)

The miserable state of Su San sent a chill through those standing nearby that cause them to regard Scott and his group with a mix of fear and wariness.

They instinctively took a few steps back.

Although Su San's fate was self-inflicted, the group had initially been grateful to Scott and his team. However, witnessing Scott's ruthless actions filled them with dread and fearing that this powerful man might turn his wrath upon them.

Scott, of course, had no intention of venting his anger on innocent bystanders. After completely crippling Su San's Spiritual Strength, he paid no further attention to him.

Exchanging a glance with Joey and the others, he simply commanded, "Retreat."

"Yes!"

With the mission accomplished, it was imperative to leave as quickly as possible.

The operation went relatively smoothly and took less time than anticipated.

It was just past 2 a.m., and under the cover of darkness, they could hasten their pace and exit the forest before dawn.

As for the people from the Mola Empire who had been rescued along the way, Scott and his team were not responsible for their subsequent fate.

Before departing, Joey, in a rare moment of kindness, offered them a piece of advice: "Before the royal family catches wind of this, you'd better leave as soon as possible."

With that, Joey quickly caught up with Scott and the others, and they swiftly disappeared into the night.

The Mola Empire citizens left behind understood that these powerful individuals couldn't possibly look after them indefinitely.

And the fact that they had been helped at all was already a blessing. Moreover, the last departing warrior's words rang true—they needed to leave this place before the royal family could react.

Originally, these people had no idea that such a terrifying research facility existed within the Mola Empire, nor did they know that it was backed by the very royal family they had sworn allegiance to.

But after being captured and brought to the facility, the researchers, for reasons unknown, had bluntly informed the captives that the facility was owned by the royal family. Even if they managed to escape, they would never evade the royal family's pursuit.

The captives were both shocked and resigned to the fact that. Indeed, they, as ordinary citizens, had no power to stand against an entire empire.

"Let's get out of here too." one of the Mola Empire citizens broke the silence.

They were not foolish.

After this, they might face endless flight but it was still better than living a life devoid of dignity and treated like mere objects within the research facility.

With someone taking the lead, the others quickly responded.

Among them, two Mola Empire citizens showed a bit of compassion as they take the unconscious Su San with them as they left. After all, they were all fellow sufferers in this cruel world.

Wu Zimo was unaware that the escaped individuals had already begun planning their journey of escape. Scott and his team retreated even faster than they had arrived.

Before the sky had fully brightened, they had already reached the predetermined rendezvous point.

Though it was still dark, Wu Zimo's sharp eyes soon detected the faint figures of several people standing ahead.

If Wu Zimo could see them, Scott and the other Sentinels, with their heightened senses, had undoubtedly noticed the people at the rendezvous point long before and recognized them as allies.

"Marshal, you've finally returned," someone at the rendezvous point exclaimed with their body tense as they sensed approaching figures. But upon recognizing Scott and his group, their tension eased, and a natural smile spread across their face.

Scott nodded at the other person and asked in a deep voice, "What's the situation outside?"

It had been over two hours since they attacked the research lab. Even if the Mola Empire's royal family was slow to react, there should have been some movement by now.

Upon hearing Scott's question, Gaosha, the young man who had spoken first upon seeing Scott and the others return, also had a serious expression. "The Mola Empire probed the Alman Battleship two hours ago."

The Mola Empire's royal family was indeed not foolish.

After the most important research lab on Planet Tyche was attacked by a group of mysterious and powerful Sentinels, their conspiracy-minded instincts immediately suspected Scott Alman, the Federation Marshal.

There was no such thing as coincidence in the world. So, after receiving the report from the research lab, they immediately targeted the Alman Battleship.

At that time, Scott, the real Marshal, was not on board.

Naturally, the people on the Alman Battleship would not allow the Mola Empire's personnel to board. Luo Zi and Li Ya's disguises were quite similar, but upon close inspection, differences would inevitably be noticed. Wu Zimo was somewhat better, but Scott's innate aura of strength was not something anyone could easily imitate.

Thus, the people on the Alman Battleship employed delaying tactics with the Mola Empire's representatives.

Any meetings had to be conducted via the Light Brain, and Li Ya, who was impersonating Wu Zimo, did everything possible to drag the time until dawn.

As long as they could hold out until dawn when the Marshal and the others returned, everything could be resolved.

As for Li Ya's methods, Wu Zimo refused to recall them.

It was just too embarrassing—he wasn’t that delicate or effeminate! Even if he wasn’t seven feet tall, he was still a manly man...

As for our Marshal, he got to enjoy a night of warmth and indulgence, and live the life of a ruler who neglects his duties for the sake of pleasure.

'Ahem, as long as the mission was accomplished, reputation didn’t matter, right?'

With time pressing, Scott and the others didn’t say much.

After Gaosha and the others received them, they quickly activated the hover car and sped toward the Alman Battleship.

The Mola Empire was undoubtedly keeping a close watch on the Alman Battleship, while also sending out numerous teams to recapture the escaped test subjects.

They absolutely could not allow them to escape the Empire’s control, or the exposure of the research lab’s activities would surely shake the royal family’s rule.

Other matters were one thing, but conducting human experiments on their own citizens was something the entire interstellar would condemn, let alone their own people.

The Mola Empire was watching closely, but no matter how tight their surveillance, Scott and the others still found a gap.

Using the excuse of resupplying, they successfully returned to the Alman Battleship.

The people on the Alman Battleship breathed a collective sigh of relief upon seeing Scott and the others return safely, especially Luo Zi and Li Ya, who had been impersonating Scott and Wu Zimo.

Seeing the Marshal and Wu Zimo finally return was like lifting a heavy burden off their shoulders.

Before the Marshal could even speak, they immediately tore off the artificial masks on their faces.

Li Ya even let out an exaggerated sigh, "Finally, I can be myself again. Pretending to be the Marshal's Wife was way too stressful."

On the other side, Luo Zi’s expression was one of shared relief.

Li Ya had it easier by impersonating Wu Zimo, who had rarely been seen in public. And since outsiders weren’t familiar with Wu Zimo, even if her impersonation wasn’t perfect, it wouldn’t cause any issues.

However, Luo Zi was different. He was impersonating Scott, a renowned Marshal in the interstellar era. Regardless of other factors, the icy and formidable aura unique to Scott was something he couldn't fully replicate.

Therefore, when interacting with outsiders, they were only allowed to observe from a distance and not approach.

Now that the Marshal had returned, their hearts were more at ease.

Scott and the others didn't have time to say much.

The people from the Mola Empire would surely come early in the morning to probe. While Li Ya could still bluff her way through late at night, it would be impossible during the day.

Scott and his team were still dressed as Mola Empire citizens and they needed to remove their disguises before the Mola Empire representatives arrived.

Sure enough, just as Scott and the others were removing their disguises, the Mola Empire delegation arrived, and this time led by a Prince.

Wu Zimo didn't recognize this prince, but Scott and the others knew that this visiting Prince held a significant position within the Mola Empire's royal family.

Sending a Prince indicated that the Mola Empire was indeed wary of Marshal Scott.

With the Prince personally visiting, the Alman Battleship naturally couldn't turn him away. Even though the relationship between the two nations was tense, as long as full-scale war hadn't broken out, maintaining a semblance of harmony was necessary.

However, with the Marshal back, the crew of the Alman Battleship wasn't afraid of whatever the Mola Empire might attempt.

Scott and the others weren't ready yet, so it was Captain Gaosha who went out to receive the Mola Empire Prince.

On the Alman Battleship, aside from Scott, Gaosha held the highest military rank.

Having him receive the Prince wasn't considered disrespectful, though whether the other party felt the same way was another matter.

But judging by the expression on the Mola Empire prince's face, it didn't seem to be a good one.

Nevertheless, Gaosha remained composed with his demeanor suggesting that his Marshal and his wife had just woken up and hadn't yet freshened up.

How could they possibly receive the Prince in such a state? That would be too impolite!

Gaosha's seemingly considerate words only twisted the Mola Empire Prince's expression further, but there was nothing he could do. Although he was a Prince of the Mola Empire, Scott Alman's status was no less significant—he was a Marshal with real power in one of the three Major Corps of the Interstellar Federation.

Moreover, the Prince was no young man and was well aware of Scott Alman's ruthless reputation.

No matter how aggrieved he felt, he could only grit his teeth and bear it. Besides, his purpose here was to probe and not to worsen the already strained relations between the two nations.

Especially since the recent news of the Interstellar Federation having a mysterious individual capable of translating the Zerg language had made the Mola Empire tread even more carefully.

In the reception room, the Mola Empire Prince sat with a grim expression, waiting. The officials accompanying him, however, lacked their Prince's composure as their faces were filled with anger, which amused Gaosha and the others responsible for receiving them.

It wasn't as if they had invited these people over.

Showing up uninvited and being left to wait—what was there to be angry about?

"Prince Maijia, they are truly too disrespectful!"

After waiting for a while without Scott or Wu Zimo appearing, one of the officials couldn't hold back any longer.

Hoping to curry favor with the prince, he suddenly spoke up amd accusing the other side of lacking hospitality.

"Silence!" Maijia's mood was certainly foul, but he understood that now was not the time to provoke a confrontation with the Federation.

As the official tried to curry favor, Maijia's eyes narrowed and ready to reprimand him again, but he suddenly stopped.

He raised his head and sharply looked towards the wide-open door of the reception room with his pores instinctively standing on end.

The Mola Empire official, who had initially intended to flatter Maijia, was now unable to make a sound as his entire body trembled slightly.

At that moment, the crisp, rhythmic sound of military boots striking the floor echoed from the corridor outside.
