Chapter 205: A’ Mo: Just messing with you

Marshal, Please Calm Down (MARSHAL)

The owner of the boots soon appeared at the entrance of the reception hall.

A tall, handsome young man with an imposing aura walked in gracefully.

The people from the Mola Empire, who were seated in the reception hall, narrowed their already small eyes even further. The official who had been trying to curry favor with the imperial Prince would not have been able to sit so steadily if he hadn't been on a chair, given the spiritual pressure Scott was exuding.

As for Prince Maijia, his entire body instinctively tensed up when Scott appeared, and his gaze fixed tightly on Scott. At the same time, he was sizing up the man known as the strongest interstellar sentinel.

Very strong!

Just the aura alone made him instinctively wary, and his instincts told him that he must never become an enemy of this terrifying man.

Thinking of this, Prince Maijia felt somewhat helpless. He didn't want to be an enemy of Scott Alman, but the two nations were destined to be adversaries.

Since enmity was inevitable, Prince Maijia could only take this opportunity to gather information on the Federation's War God.

As Scott walked in, Gaosha and the others immediately stood up and saluted him then introduced Prince Maijia and his entourage to the Marshal.

"Greetings, Marshal Alman." Maijia composed himself and resumed the demeanor befitting a prince. He also didn't forget the reason Scott and his party had entered the Mola Empire, so a word of blessing was necessary.

Maijia had also prepared a gift. "This is a small token of my goodwill. I wish Marshal Alman a happy marriage."

As a Prince of the Mola Empire, Maijia's surface-level etiquette was impeccable. Moreover, the official reason for their visit to the Alman Battleship was indeed to deliver a gift.

The attendant following Prince Maijia immediately stepped forward and respectfully presented the exquisitely wrapped gift with both hands.

Of course, it wasn't Marshal Scott who received the gift. Gaosha promptly stood up and took it.

"Greetings, Prince Maijia. Thank you," Scott merely glanced at Gaosha and didn't look at the gift. His response to Prince Maijia's congratulations was a simple, indifferent thank you.

Everyone in the interstellar era knew that Scott Alman was an extremely cold man, so his aloof attitude didn't bother Prince Maijia at all. He simply offered a polite smile.

After both parties were seated, Prince Maijia finally noticed the young man sitting beside Scott.

It was no wonder—Wu Zimo's stature was quite small compared to Scott's group, and in front of outsiders, the boy always adhered to the principle of being as quiet as a mouse. When Wu Zimo was quiet, he could be quite intimidating. For example, in Prince Maijia's eyes, this young man seemed extraordinary.

Any capable faction would have investigated the background of Scott Alman's marriage partner. While detailed information was scarce, some basic facts were known.

For instance, this young man named Wu Zimo, who had risen from obscurity, was an orphan.

At the age of eighteen, it was rumored that he failed to awaken as a Guide, and he transferred from the most popular command department at the Federation's First Military Academy to the logistics department. After that, the information about him was rather unremarkable, with the only highlight being his unexpected performance as a dark horse during the annual assessment.

People with keen senses could tell from the leaked videos that this young man named Wu Zimo was definitely extraordinary, but his true situation remained unknown to all except those in the know. Lyle and Salah were as tight-lipped as clams, and impossible to pry open.

It was said that he had failed his awakening, yet now he was not only a Guide but also had a 100% spiritual compatibility with Scott Alman.

Some imaginative individuals recalled how Marshal Alman had personally intervened to save a student at the academy and speculated that the two might have been involved long before. Otherwise, how could a Guide who had clearly awakened be mistaken for someone who hadn’t?

Surely, Marshal Alman must have orchestrated something to protect his perfectly compatible Guide.

When Wu Zimo heard this rumor, he was speechless.

The rumor was so detailed and convincing that, as the person involved, he could only think: "Well, that’s quite something!"

Prince Maijia looked at Wu Zimo with his pupils tightening slightly before quickly replacing it with a gentlemanly smile. "Pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Alman."

Being called the Marshal's Wife was one thing, but now even "Mrs. Alman" was thrown into the mix.

Wu Zimo rolled his eyes inwardly, though his expression remained composed. He nodded gracefully at Prince Maijia, "Hello, Prince Maijia."

As for the hand-kissing etiquette popular among the nobles of the Mola Empire—sorry, he was a man, not a lady!

Not only did Wu Zimo feel goosebumps at the thought of someone kissing his hand, but the vinegar-loving Marshal would never allow anyone to touch his young man.

Thus, Prince Maijia, who had been about to extend his hand, awkwardly retracted it halfway.

A flash of anger crossed his eyes, but remembering that this young man was Scott Alman’s partner, he swallowed his frustration.

The ensuing back-and-forth of probing and inquiries wasn’t something Wu Zimo needed to worry about. Though the Marshal was a man of few words, that didn’t mean he couldn’t engage in verbal sparring.

Wu Zimo quietly watched as Scott deftly handled Prince Maijia and barely suppresse his laughter.

Did they really think his Marshal was a pushover?

Originally, Wu Zimo had been content to stay on the sidelines. Though Prince Maijia was visibly frustrated by Scott, he noticed Wu Zimo sitting quietly beside Scott and quickly hatched a plan.

Wu Zimo was shrouded in mystery, but his age and orphan background made Prince Maijia believe the young man couldn’t possibly match wits with seasoned foxes like them.

Mid-conversation with Scott, Prince Maijia abruptly shifted the topic to Wu Zimo.

"I’ve heard that Mrs. Alman has a fondness for unique natural landscapes. Coincidentally, in a week’s time, the Celestial God Festival will be held at God's Grace Mountain on the Imperial Star, where a once-in-a-century phenomenon will occur. I wonder if I might have the honor of inviting Marshal Alman and Mrs. Alman to attend?"

The God's Grace Mountain and its Celestial God Festival on the Mola Empire’s Imperial Star were indeed renowned across the galaxy, and it was precisely because of this mountain that the empire had chosen the planet as its capital.

However, Wu Zimo wasn’t about to accept this invitation.

He wasn’t foolish enough to walk into the enemy’s lair and get trapped.

That would be sheer stupidity!

Even if he had to decline, Wu Zimo couldn’t be too obvious about it.

After all, the invitation came from a Prince of an empire. So, Wu Zimo immediately put on an excited expression, “Really? The Celestial God Festival? I’ve seen a lot of introductions about it on the Federation Quantum Computer.”

Not only did he appear excited, but he also showed a look of deep longing, which made Prince Maijia’s smile even brighter.

In his heart, the prince thought: *'As expected of a young man. And no matter how strong Scott Alman is, once he steps into the imperial capital, he’s no match for the empire!'

Wu Zimo’s spiritual strength was no weaker than Scott’s, so how could he not notice the smugness in Prince Maijia’s eyes?

Inwardly scoffing, Wu Zimo’s excited expression quickly shifted to one of disappointment as he turned to Scott and said, “But our schedule is already packed. It’s already been hard enough for Scott to spare this time to accompany me.”

That’s what Wu Zimo said, but back at the Alman estate, Madam Alman was practically hoping Scott would spend even more time accompanying her son-in-law on his travels. As for the Heaven Wrath Corps, wasn’t the Old Marshal there? No need to worry.

The people from the Mola Empire, like Prince Maijia, didn’t understand Wu Zimo’s personality, but his own family certainly did.

Especially Joey and the others standing behind Scott as guards—if they weren’t afraid of ruining Wu Zimo’s act, they would’ve burst out laughing by now.

The Marshal’s Wife would never use such an innocent tone when speaking to the Marshal.

From what they knew, if a Marshal’s wife really wanted to go, he’d simply make the decision with a wave of his hand: “Let’s go!” Decisive and without explanation.

Scott also knew that Wu Zimo was just playing with the people from the Mola Empire.

A hint of amusement flashed in his eyes as he looked at the seemingly innocent Wu Zimo and gently reassured him, “Don’t worry, we can go.”

Prince Maijia hadn’t even recovered from the shock of seeing Scott Alman being so gentle when he heard Scott actually nod in agreement. He could barely contain his excitement.

However, Wu Zimo shook his head, “No, let’s not.” He lowered his head as if disappointed, but only Scott, who was standing close to him, noticed the boy rolling his eyes.

It was no wonder Wu Zimo rolled his eyes.

His dear husband was really determined to play the role of a doting ruler and willing to cast aside his responsibilities just to make his beloved smile.

Lifting his head again, Wu Zimo continued in his innocent tone, “Mom is waiting for us back home. Hehe, I’ve bought a lot of gifts this trip and want to give them to her as soon as possible.”

“I’m sorry, Prince Maijia, it really won’t work this time. But if there are next time, even if you don’t invite me, I’ll definitely come and bother you.”

Faced with such a sincere apology from the young man, Prince Maijia could only swallow his frustration.

He couldn’t get angry, nor could he accuse the boy of being so rude as to reject a Prince’s invitation. Choked with anger, Prince Maijia could only grit his teeth and endure.

However, his subsequent attempts to probe Scott became noticeably more half-hearted.

It couldn’t be helped.

Whether it was Scott Alman or Wu Zimo, Prince Maijia couldn’t find a single opening to exploit.

Moreover, when the research lab was attacked early this morning, Scott Alman and his partner were indeed on the Alman Battleship.

Seeing this, Prince Maijia couldn't help but sneer. Even the strongest interstellar sentinel is nothing more than a bear in the arms of a gentle lover.

Although this investigation didn't uncover any connection between Scott Alman's group and the attack on the research lab, discovering the weakness of the strongest interstellar sentinel made the trip worthwhile.

The lazy Prince Maijia, after letting his accompanying officials exchange a few more pleasantries, announced his departure.

He was responsible for the follow-up handling of this incident and had no time to waste on these Federation people.

Standing inside the battleship and watching Prince Maijia and his entourage finally leave, Wu Zimo couldn't hold back any longer.

"Damn it! I got goosebumps all over."

His naive tone earlier not only made Joey and the others struggle to hold back their laughter, but he himself found it hard to endure.

Seeing Wu Zimo continuously rubbing his arms, Joey and the others finally burst into laughter, and even Gaosha and the rest couldn't help but join in.
