Chapter 206: Marshal: Proceed according to plan

Marshal, Please Calm Down (MARSHAL)

Seeing everyone laughing, Wu Zimo didn’t feel the slightest bit embarrassed. Instead, he proudly shouted at the amused crowd, “Go ahead and laugh! If it weren’t for my sacrifice, would that guy named Maijia have left so easily?”

“But is this Maijia out of his mind, or is he trying to sever ties with the Federation? He actually dared to invite us to the Imperial Star of the Mola Empire.”

Wu Zimo wasn’t wrong.

It wasn’t that either side was afraid of death, but ever since the two nations discovered each other’s existence, no one from the Federation had dared to openly enter the Imperial Star of the Mola Empire. Similarly, no one from the Mola Empire had dared to set foot on the Federation’s capital planet with their real identity.

Even when exchanges were necessary, they would only meet on a planet along the border. The same applied to tourism and commerce.

For example, although Wu Zimo and Scott had entered Mola Empire territory under the guise of a honeymoon trip, they only lingered on the outskirts with no intention of approaching the central region.

Both sides feared that something indescribable might happen, and the ones who would suffer would undoubtedly be those who ventured into the other’s territory. So, even though Wu Zimo knew how powerful his Marshal was, he wasn’t foolish enough to rush to the Imperial Star of the Mola Empire.

No matter how strong an individual might be, they would still be powerless against sheer numbers.

Hearing Wu Zimo’s outburst, the others had to suppress their laughter because the Marshal’s Wife was absolutely right.

That Mola Empire Prince had indeed been driven away by Wu Zimo’s antics.

After saying his piece, Wu Zimo didn’t dwell on it. Instead, he looked up at Scott, who also had a hint of amusement in his eyes, and asked, “When are we leaving?”

The most important research facility on Tyche Planet had been attacked, and the higher-ups in the Mola Empire who were aware of the situation were undoubtedly in chaos.

Add to that the presence of the Federation’s formidable figure on the planet, they wouldn’t dare to act too recklessly for fear of being discovered by Scott.

Prince Maijia’s probing was also to determine whether the Federation group was involved in the attack on the research facility. But after testing, he found that Scott Alman, the powerful man, had not left the Alman Battleship during the attack, so the mysterious assailant likely had no connection to the Federation group.

Since they didn’t know, it was even more important not to alert them.

To be honest, not only did Scott and his group want to leave Tyche Planet and Mola Empire territory as soon as possible, but the Mola Empire also hoped this hot potato would leave quickly and stop being a nuisance.

However, if they left in a hurry now, not all of the Mola Empire’s higher-ups were fools, and some would surely overthink it. So, in response to Wu Zimo’s question, Scott replied, “We’ll proceed according to plan.”

“Oh.”

According to their “honeymoon trip” plan, today they were supposed to visit the Sea of Eros, and tomorrow they could leave Tyche Planet, and officially conclude their journey through the Mola Empire.

Wu Zimo nodded, then let out a big yawn and said to Scott, “Since we’re visiting the Sea of Eros this afternoon, I’ll go take a nap first.”

Yesterday was indeed a busy day.

The only rest Wu Zimo got was the two hours when Scott carried him through the forest at a brisk pace. Even on the way back, though Scott was still carrying him, Wu Zimo remained tense the entire time and was always afraid of any unexpected incidents during the retreat.

Before dawn, upon returning to the Alman Battleship, they encountered Prince Maijia and his group, who came to probe. After dealing with them, Wu Zimo finally relaxed his nerves, and waves of fatigue began to set in.

Scott looked down at the young man standing before him.

The weariness in Wu Zimo's eyes was clear to Scott, and a pang of heartache passed through him. He gently stroked the corner of Wu Zimo's eye and said softly, "Go on, but eat something before you sleep. I'll wake you up at noon."

A few hours of rest might not be enough, but a person must be fed.

"Uh, alright."

Hearing that Scott would wake him up for lunch at noon, Wu Zimo wanted to say, "Please let me sleep until the afternoon." However, he knew that the Marshal was very strict about his meals, so he had no choice but to comply.

Wu Zimo waved to Scott and the others present, then floated like a ghost toward their resting quarters.

Seeing Wu Zimo's unsteady steps, Scott had Joey escort him. Joey, catching the Marshal's glance, nodded and followed Wu Zimo out of the reception hall.

"To the conference room."

"Yes!"

If it weren't for the urgent matters he had to attend to next, Scott wouldn't have let Wu Zimo return to his room alone. He also thought that he must not let Wu Zimo accompany them on such missions in the future.

Wu Zimo was different from them, a soldier who had undergone rigorous training and could go days and nights without rest without any issues.

..........

In the Marshal's private resting quarters on the Alman Battleship, Wu Zimo finally lay down on the soft bed while feeling utterly lazy. His eyes were already closed, but he didn't forget to thank Joey.

"Joey, thanks for escorting me back."

As soon as Wu Zimo finished speaking, his breathing became very steady, leaving Joey in the room quite speechless.

The Marshal's Wife's sleeping skills were truly impressive. Did it even take ten seconds to fall asleep?

Seeing Wu Zimo already buried in the bed, Joey adjusted the room temperature slightly higher.

He understood that Wu Zimo's constitution was indeed weak—not just compared to them, the Sentinels, but even to ordinary people, it was somewhat lacking.

Coupled with the constant spiritual strain in the research lab where he had to release his spiritual strength at high intensity to crack the lab's instrument, it was no wonder he was exhausted.

As Joey walked toward the conference room, he wondered if the Marshal should train the Marshal's Wife more to improve his constitution.

A or B would be too much, but at least to a C.

Unbeknownst to Joey, who was concerned about Wu Zimo's constitution, no matter how much Wu Zimo trained, his constitution would remain at the weakling level.

Now, being able to improve to E+ was already quite good—previously, he was at F...

Wu Zimo's poor constitution was related to his exceptionally strong spiritual strength.

Unless there was a way to weaken his spiritual strength, his title of "combat weakling" would never be removed. Or perhaps there was a scientific method to modify Wu Zimo's constitution, but such methods were generally prohibited due to their involvement in human experimentation.

Just like the Mola Empire research lab that Scott and his team had destroyed, they were not studying how to improve physical constitution but rather focusing on spiritual strength, though it also involved aspects of human experimentation.

Sentinels, on the other hand, were different. The stronger their spiritual strength, and the stronger their physical constitution that made them the polar opposite of Guides in terms of evolution.

Joey walked into the conference room and nodded to Scott, who was seated at the head of the table. Scott didn’t pause his speech but glanced at Joey before signaling him to sit down as the meeting continued.

The meeting revolved around summarizing the recent operation, and all participants had performed exceptionally well. Of course, the most surprising figure was Wu Zimo, the Marshal's Wife.

After witnessing Wu Zimo in action, Joey and the other elite participants were utterly shocked, which spoke volumes about how impactful Wu Zimo’s presence had been.

The internal debriefing concluded quickly, and Scott used a military-encrypted channel to directly contact Xuanyuan Chengtian on the capital planet, the old Marshal at the headquarters of Corps, Rocard, and Bokal, who was stationed at the border.

As soon as the four-way communication was established, the other parties breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing Scott unharmed.

"Scott, why did it take you so long to contact us?" Xuanyuan Chengtian complained, now that he saw Scott was safe.

"Do you know how terrified I was when I saw the intelligence reports from the Mola Empire’s upper echelons? I was afraid you all had been slaughtered."

Scott and his team, being at the scene, hadn’t felt much but the surrounding areas—or rather, the entire Mola Empire—had been placed on high alert.

Officially, it was claimed that they had received intelligence about a group of ruthless space pirates planning to attack civilian flights.

And for the safety of the public, all civilian flights in the star sector where the planet Tyche was located had been suspended.

There was a lot of official rhetoric about protecting the people, and the Mola Empire’s fleet had already been deployed, seemingly determined to set up an inescapable net to capture those vicious pirates.

As for whether there really were such ruthless pirates or not, only they knew.

While Xuanyuan Chengtian was agitated, Rocard detailed the Mola Empire’s various reactions to Scott, and Bokal reported that the border between the two nations remained calm.

Perhaps after testing Scott and confirming that he had no connection to the Federation, they had shifted their focus more onto the escaped experimental subjects. Thus, the border remained undisturbed as they feared that any significant movement might arouse the Federation’s suspicion.

After listening to the reports, Scott’s expression darkened as he pondered. At that moment, Xuanyuan Chengtian suddenly asked, "Scott, what are you planning to do next?"

The Mola Empire hadn’t yet suspected Scott, but who knew if those irrational minds would pin the blame on him even without evidence, even though it was indeed Scott and his team who had attacked the research lab.

In response to Xuanyuan Chengtian’s question, Scott replied directly, "We’ll continue our journey."

"What?" Hearing that Scott didn’t plan to return immediately, not only Xuanyuan Chengtian but even Rocard’s expression turned sour.

The Old Marshal, who had been silent until now, frowned slightly upon hearing this but quickly relaxed. "Fine, but you must take good care of Wu Zimo."

"Father, please rest assured." Scott said with a hint of warmth flashing in his eyes at the mention of Wu Zimo.

Even without his father's reminder, he would take good care of his partner.

Since the Old Marshal had already agreed to Scott's plan, the others didn't have much to say.

They just also assured him that they would continue to monitor the movements of the Mola Empire.

Additionally, since Scott and his team were set to begin their return journey the next day, they wouldn't be lingering in the Mola Empire. However, ensuring their safety during the return trip would require coordination with Bokal.

"No problem, I'll arrange to meet you under the guise of a patrol." Bokal replied.

After all, wasn't it said that the Mola Empire had ruthless space pirates planning to cause trouble? They could use that as an excuse to deploy patrols.

Everyone was acting in the interest of public safety, so the Mola Empire really had no grounds to attack the Federation's patrols operating in sensitive areas.
