Marshal, Please Calm Down (MARSHAL)
While Wu Zimo was gently stroking Caesar and muttering softly, Scott sat nearby while studying the star map.
He closed his Light Brain then with his eyes filled with concern, he asked, "Zimo, do you need to see a doctor?"
Ares's unusual behavior had Scott deeply worried.
Quantum Beasts are high-dimensional creatures manifested from their owner's Spiritual Strength.
At times, the condition of a Quantum Beast reflects the state of its owner's Spiritual Strength.
Although Wu Zimo's Quantum Beast was unique—a legendary egg that was said to potentially hatch a Phoenix—Scott didn't care whether it would actually hatch into the Phoenix of the Feng Family and rumored to possess world-destroying power. All he cared about was Wu Zimo.
Initially, Ares's lively and healthy appearance had reassured Scott. However, Ares's recent behavior had left Scott no choice but to worry.
"I'm fine, no need to make such a fuss."
Wu Zimo knew Scott was concerned about him, but he truly didn't feel anything wrong with his body.
He could eat and sleep well, and his energy hadn't waned. In fact, he felt like he had boundless energy.
For this mission, the doctor aboard the Alman Battleship was Doctor Wang, an acquaintance of Wu Zimo.
Wu Zimo thought it best not to disturb the elderly doctor unless necessary.
Scott reached out and held Wu Zimo's hand.
Though still worried, he knew Wu Zimo's body and Spiritual Strength showed no abnormalities.
And since Wu Zimo didn't want to see a doctor, Scott had no choice but to suppress his concerns.
"Don't worry. If I feel unwell, I'll go see Doctor Wang without you having to tell me."
Even without Spiritual Strength contact, Wu Zimo could sense Scott's worry. He smiled lightly then withdrew his hand, and hugged Scott before patting his back.
"Weren't you studying the star map to figure out the best location in the Tianyuan Star Territory for the allied forces to ambush the Mother Zerg? I'm really fine. The mission comes first."
Scott had devised a plan to ambush the Mother Zerg in the Abyss Star Region, which had gained support from other civilizations in the universe. However, the detailed deployment would only be finalized after everyone gathered.
Additionally, the Gader Civilization had sent over a detailed star map of the Abyss Star Region. During their Warp Speed Travel through Subspace, Scott had been studying it intently.
"By the way, how's Bokal doing?"
To divert Scott's attention from himself, Wu Zimo changed the subject.
Although Bokal was part of the mission, he wasn't on the Alman Battleship.
As a lieutenant general of Bia's Corps, Bokal's dedicated battleship was no slouch.
Equipped with two new systems developed by Wu Zimo, its combat power had significantly increased.
Since communication was difficult within Subspace, they weren't sure how things were on his end.
"He's probably busy training his Guard Unit."
Originally, a Major General would have a Guard Unit, but upon promotion to Lieutenant General, the number of guards would increase. Among the officers, the one with the most guards was undoubtedly the Marshal.
Scott himself had a Guard Unit of about a thousand people.
Hearing that Bokal was still focused on training his soldiers even at such a time, Wu Zimo rolled his eyes and was unsure what to say about this man who was so passionate about being a drill instructor.
However, Wu Zimo also understood that Bokal's approach was actually quite beneficial.
Through his personal training, the capabilities of the guards would undoubtedly improve and can provide them with better security for their mission.
As for the translation work related to the Zerg, Wu Zimo had done all he could.
After being busy for so long, he suddenly felt a bit unaccustomed to the sudden halt, which is why he ended up sitting on the bridge and watching Scott.
The two stopped talking, and as the quiet settled in, Wu Zimo leaned back in his chair while stroking Caesar's fur with his gaze fixed on Scott, who had picked up the Light Brain again to study the star map.
As he watched, his eyelids began to feel heavy, and slowly, Wu Zimo fell asleep against the back of the chair.
"Arf." After Wu Zimo's breathing steadied, Caesar softly called out to his master.
Scott turned and saw Wu Zimo curled up in the chair causing his stern expression to soften involuntarily.
He stood up then walked around the table to Wu Zimo, and gently draped his coat over him.
He bent down and was ready to carry the sleeping Wu Zimo back to his room.
Because this was the bridge, and not just occupied by Scott, but also by several soldiers. And although everyone was quiet, especially after seeing the Marshal's Wife fall asleep and breathing even more softly while sleeping in a chair was nowhere near as comfortable as a bed.
But just as Scott was about to lift Wu Zimo, the sleeping man's brows furrowed deeply and showing discomfort. Helpless, Scott let go, and seeing Wu Zimo's brows relax, he decided to let him rest in the chair.
Scott adjusted Wu Zimo's position to make him more comfortable in the chair, knowing full well that he would wake up with sore muscles.
He picked up the Light Brain and sent a message to Doctor Wang in the medical bay to ask him to bring the muscle soreness treatment device to the bridge.
Unbeknownst to Scott, who had returned to his seat, Wu Zimo, though asleep, was very much alert, as he was now in his Spiritual World.
"What the hell! What's going on?"
In the Spiritual World, one doesn't feel weight or gravity.
Wu Zimo had been in his Spiritual World before, but the scene before him made him question if the Spiritual World also had seasonal changes.
However, all Sentinels and Guides knew that the Spiritual World couldn't have seasonal changes. The Spiritual World is an alternate space constructed by one's own Spiritual Strength after awakening, and its appearance and size are fixed from the moment it appears.
Therefore, it couldn't be altered or transformed, and the size and form of the Spiritual World also determined the strength of one's abilities.
That's why Prince Maijia was so convinced by Feng Yan'er's lies, because changing the Spiritual World would naturally change one's abilities as well.
Wu Zimo was now floating aimlessly in his Spiritual World while observing the sudden and significant changes in this world.
If the Spiritual World he had seen before was at the cusp of spring and summer, with blue skies, white clouds, pleasant temperatures, lush green grass, and tall trees.
The grass and trees in the Spiritual World were places where Ares loved to play. But now, Wu Zimo felt as if he had entered the depths of winter in his Spiritual World.
The grass withered, the trees went dormant, and the entire space turned into a vast expanse of white.
Fortunately, it wasn’t the real world.
Looking at this white world before him, Wu Zimo wouldn’t suffer from snow blindness.
“Ares! Ares, where are you!”
Seeing the sudden transformation of the Spiritual World, Wu Zimo had no time to worry about it. He was deeply concerned about Ares, who was in this Spiritual World.
If he hadn’t somehow entered the Spiritual World unexpectedly, he wouldn’t have known that his Spiritual World had turned into this state.
Fortunately, Wu Zimo’s eyes were sharp as he frantically searched for Ares. Otherwise, finding a white egg in this endless white world would have surely left him blind.
Following the connection between a Quantum Beast and its master, Wu Zimo soon spotted his adorable egg on a small hill.
Normally, his mischievous egg would be lively and energetic, and he wouldn’t need to search for it. And as soon as he entered the Spiritual World, Ares would come bouncing out to play with him.
“Ares? Ares, you’re not hibernating, are you…”
Wu Zimo crouched down to pick up Ares from the snowy ground.
Seeing that Ares still showed no reaction and with the eggshell completely white, he could only console himself with a bitter joke.
“Ares, your master is here. Wake up, let’s play ‘lift you high,’ okay?”
Wu Zimo gently stroked the large white egg in his arms before slowly releasing his Spiritual Strength and waiting for Ares’ response.
It didn’t take long before emoticons appeared on the surface of the large white egg in his arms.
(°▽°) When did Master arrive?
Seeing the cute and silly emoticons on the eggshell, Wu Zimo’s tension immediately vanished.
He couldn’t help but chuckle while tapping the eggshell and saying, “You little rascal, you scared your master half to death, you know?”
( ⊙ o ⊙ ) Master, did Ares do something wrong?
“Ahem.” Wu Zimo knew his mischievous egg was particularly clueless, so it was no surprise it didn’t react immediately.
Not wasting any more time, Wu Zimo, now assured that Ares was fine, began to worry about why the Spiritual World had turned into this state.
“Ares, do you know why it’s become like this here?”
(°▽°) Master, what change?
Ares truly didn’t understand what Wu Zimo was asking. But when it noticed its surroundings, it immediately looked shocked.
( ° △°) Master, why has Ares’ home turned into this!!!
“…”
'You little rascal, I was about to ask you the same thing! So Ares must have been hibernating and completely out of it, huh…'
Seeing its living space turned completely white, Ares was stunned and could only seek comfort from Wu Zimo.
Wu Zimo busied himself soothing the pitifully adorable egg in his arms.
As for the changes in the Spiritual Space, he would have to wait until he woke up to ask Scott.
“Ares, do you feel unwell anywhere?”
Wu Zimo knew the Spiritual World was closely tied to its owner, but he himself felt completely fine. So he could only ask Ares.
Ares shook its head.
It didn’t feel any different either, except that it had been very tired lately, didn’t want to move, and felt sleepy. The changes in the Spiritual Space had occurred after it fell asleep.
“Then, Ares, do you want to come out with your master?” With the Spiritual World in this state, Wu Zimo was a bit worried about leaving Ares here because he feared that it might be in danger.
However, Ares only nuzzled Wu Zimo's chest before leaping out of his embrace and hopping back into the small pit where it had been staying.
"Alright, since Ares doesn’t want to go out, I won’t force it." Wu Zimo said while watching as Ares curled up in the pit again and was already starting to doze off.
He had no choice but to leave it be. At the same time, he was eager to go out and find Scott to ask what exactly was going on.
Wu Zimo’s body gradually dissipated from the Spiritual World.
Ares, who is still in the pit, blinked and muttered, "There’s a scary big black panther outside. I’m not going out!"
Even though the home had turned into a vast whiteness, it felt so comfortable, and it really wanted to sleep...
As it thought this, the adorable egg once again went into hibernation.
