Chapter 217: A’ Mo: The cunning Caesar

Marshal, Please Calm Down (MARSHAL)

Wu Zimo didn’t spend much time in his spiritual world.

After leaving it, he stirred slightly from his doze on the chair and soon opened his tightly shut eyes.

When Wu Zimo opened his eyes, there was no trace of grogginess from just waking up. Instead, his gaze was clear,  and tinged with a hint of worry and tension.

As soon as Wu Zimo opened his eyes and before he could speak, Caesar, who was behind him, let out a low growl to alert his master.

“Awake?” Scott, upon hearing Caesar’s reminder, put down the Light Brain in his hand and picked up the therapy device Doctor Wang had sent over.

He crouched in front of Wu Zimo.

“You fell asleep on the chair. Do you feel any soreness in your body?”

“I’m fine.” Wu Zimo also knew that the bridge wasn’t the right place to discuss his issues, so he shook his head at Scott.

Although dozing against the backrest had indeed left his back and waist muscles feeling sore, the discomfort was still within an acceptable range. Therefore, the therapy device in Scott’s hand wasn’t necessary.

Wu Zimo hesitated for a moment, but in the end, his concern won out. He lowered his voice and said to Scott, “Scott, are you done with your work?”

Wu Zimo was worried about Ares, but he also knew that Scott’s work was crucial as it concerned the entire universe.

“What’s wrong?” Sensing the unease in Wu Zimo’s eyes, Scott gently cupped his cheeks with both hands.

“Did something happen?” Work was important, but Wu Zimo was equally important to Scott.

Wu Zimo paused, then finally nodded and said, “There’s something I want to ask you.”

Seeing that Wu Zimo didn’t want to talk on the bridge, Scott understood that it must be something significant. He stood up and reached out to pull Wu Zimo up from the chair.

“Let’s go back to our room to talk.”

“Okay.”

Following Scott’s lead, Wu Zimo stood up from the chair then caught his slipping jacket and nodded.

He followed behind Scott and watched as he finished giving instructions before leading him to their private quarters.

Once they returned to their exclusive resting room, Wu Zimo draped his jacket over the sofa chair in the room, but was momentarily unsure of how to begin.

Should he just say that his spiritual world had shifted from early summer to deep winter?

Scott also noticed Wu Zimo’s hesitation and didn’t press him, just quietly waiting for the young man to speak.

Finally, Wu Zimo could only grit his teeth and choose the most direct method. He stood on his tiptoes then reached up to pull Scott’s neck down, and pressed their foreheads together before closing his eyes.

Using his spiritual strength as a guide, he allowed Scott to enter his spiritual world without any hindrance.

Guides often used similar methods to soothe the restless spiritual strength of Sentinels. However, it was usually the Guide entering the Sentinel’s spiritual world, not like Wu Zimo, who was letting the Sentinel enter the Guide’s spiritual world.

Everyone knew that no matter how powerful a Sentinel was, their spiritual world was fragile. As for a Guide’s spiritual world, it was even more fragile and vulnerable than a Sentinel’s.

If one wasn’t careful and the spiritual world was damaged, the person could either become an idiot or fall into a vegetative state.

Wu Zimo had seen Scott's spiritual world, but Scott had never seen Wu Zimo's. However, even without having seen it before, the vast expanse of whiteness before them was definitely not normal.

Under the guidance of Wu Zimo's spiritual strength, not only did Scott enter his spiritual world, but Caesar also followed them in.

As soon as Caesar entered Wu Zimo's spiritual world, he instinctively went on alert. He sniffed the air then spread his massive wings, and flew off in a certain direction.

"Caesar!"

This was Wu Zimo's spiritual world, and any mishap could affect him directly. Scott couldn't let Caesar run wild here.

"Don't worry." Wu Zimo said, knowing what lay in the direction Caesar was flying. "Caesar is going to find Ares."

That was where his adorable egg was hibernating in a small pit.

While Caesar was off to find Ares, Wu Zimo was more concerned about his own spiritual world. "Scott, do you know what's going on with my spiritual world?"

Wu Zimo then described what his spiritual world had originally looked like. After hearing his description, Scott's expression darkened.

"Zimo, are you sure you're not feeling any, physically or mentally? No fatigue or exhaustion?"

"Not at all."

Wu Zimo understood the implications of Scott's questions, but he truly felt nothing out of the ordinary—well, except for one thing. "I don't feel tired; in fact, I feel incredibly energetic, like I have endless stamina."

Normally, such a sudden change in one's spiritual world would undoubtedly affect the person, but Wu Zimo's situation was hard to explain.

"Scott, you really don't know why my spiritual world has suddenly changed like this?" Seeing Scott's expression grow even more troubled, Wu Zimo quickly changed the subject.

Scott shook his head.

Wu Zimo's current condition was difficult to explain.

It wasn't unheard of for a Sentinel or Guide's spiritual world to undergo drastic changes, but those were usually due to severe trauma that lead to either a collapse or a near-collapse state. Wu Zimo's situation, however, was more like a seasonal shift.

Scott, being perceptive, could sense a powerful yet non-threatening force in this spiritual world—gentle and even somewhat affectionate. It felt oddly familiar, which was why Scott hadn't mentioned it to Wu Zimo.

"I don't know. Let's go see Doctor Wang after we leave."

"Alright."

Since Scott didn't have an answer, they would have to consult Doctor Wang, the Guide Physician.

And if even Doctor Wang couldn't figure it out, Wu Zimo decided he would just let it be.

After all, so far, the changes in his spiritual world hadn't posed any danger to him, right?

As Wu Zimo and Scott floated closer to where Caesar and Ares were, they heard Caesar's low growl.

"What's going on?"

They quickened their pace and, upon reaching the destination, Wu Zimo couldn't help but laugh at the sight before him. "Caesar, you're a leopard, not a hen. Why do you always treat Ares like an egg you're trying to hatch?"

It was hard not to tease Caesar, the Emperor Leopard, given his current behavior which was undeniably amusing.

The black leopard lying on the white ground spread its wings and gently gathered the large white egg nestled in a small pit to its soft, furry belly. Not only that, Caesar also turned its head and kept licking the pristine eggshell.

Wu Zimo should be grateful that Ares' hibernation wasn't easily disturbed. Otherwise, if Ares found out it was being licked by Caesar again, its pure white eggshell would surely display an emoticon of hopelessness.

To be honest, Scott was also speechless seeing Caesar act like a mother hen now, but he understood Caesar's intentions.

Walking up to Caesar, Scott reached out and stroked its fur.

Caesar, who had been licking Ares' eggshell, looked up upon seeing its master and let out a low growl. Its majestic silver vertical pupils were filled with concern.

"Don't worry, Caesar, Ares is fine." Wu Zimo also came over before squatting down to gently touch Ares beneath Caesar's belly.

"Ares is currently, uh, hibernating. Hibernation, you should understand that, right Caesar?"

"Roar." Of course, Caesar understood. It could sense that although Ares wasn't responding, there was no discomfort, and its spiritual energy was still very strong.

But seeing Ares ignore it, Caesar couldn't help but feel unhappy. Even though Ares usually looked like it had given up on life, Caesar still found its partner so! damn! cute!

Wu Zimo didn't know Caesar's thoughts, otherwise, he wouldn't know whether to mourn for his own egg that was trying to act cute.

Scott seemed quite normal, even a bit aloof, but how could his Quantum Beast be so mischievous?

Wu Zimo and Scott didn't stay in the Spiritual World for long. Under its master's command, Caesar reluctantly had to leave Ares.

After returning, Scott immediately contacted Doctor Wang. Wu Zimo's health was more important than anything else.

Doctor Wang didn't know why Scott was contacting him again.

Upon opening the Light Brain and before Scott could speak, Doctor Wang directly teased, "Is that little rascal Wu Zimo feeling unwell again? I say, Marshal, even though you're young, you should still take it easy."

"Doctor Wang, I'm perfectly fine." Wu Zimo, hearing the teasing from the Light Brain, was speechless.

Doctor Wang had been quite serious at first, but now he was casually making dirty jokes.

"Hehe," seeing the subject of his teasing also present, Doctor Wang showed no embarrassment.

"So, what's the matter?" After teasing the two, Doctor Wang knew there must be something important.

"There's something I need to trouble you with, Doctor Wang. I'll bring Zimo over later and please prepare."

Hearing Scott's words, Doctor Wang's expression also lost its ease as his brow slightly furrowed as he nodded, "Understood."

For Scott to specifically inform him that they were coming over, and it was about Wu Zimo—Wu Zimo wasn't just Scott's treasure now, but also the Federation's treasure.

Anything concerning Wu Zimo, he had to take seriously.

This time, besides Doctor Wang, there were also five Guide Physicians and ten regular physicians in the medical room.

This mission wasn't as relaxed as before, so the number of accompanying physicians was considerable.

Before Wu Zimo and Scott could reach the medical room, Doctor Wang took the opportunity to dismiss the other doctors inside and activated the defense system before quietly waiting for the two to arrive.

Soon, the door to the medical room was knocked, and Wu Zimo entered while Scott was following behind.

"Doctor Wang, I’ll trouble you with this next."

"This is my duty. What’s wrong, Xiao Mo?"

Doctor Wang waved his hand at Scott and then led Wu Zimo to sit on a chair before asking in a calm and reassuring tone.

"There’s something wrong with my Spiritual World."

Under Scott’s approving gaze, Wu Zimo didn’t hide anything and explained the changes in his Spiritual World in detail, with Scott adding supplementary information.

When Doctor Wang heard that the issue involved Wu Zimo’s Spiritual World, his expression became serious.

If there really was a problem with Wu Zimo’s Spiritual World, it wouldn’t just be a personal matter—it would also be of great importance to the Marshal.
