Marshal, Please Calm Down (MARSHAL)
As all the battleships showcased their unique capabilities, the Mother Zerg launched its attack.
The space in front of the Mother Zerg twisted, and a dark, powerful energy began to gather while everyone watched this bizarre attack method with heightened alertness.
Boom!
The massive energy ball suddenly erupted and shot out countless black rays in all directions.
The Mother Zerg's energy attack wasn't single-target but a wide-area assault.
Fortunately, Scott had ordered all battleships to activate their strongest defenses. Otherwise, the constant warnings from the battleship systems about the Defense Shield's energy depletion would have been chilling.
[Warning: Defense Shield energy depletion at 98%, 95%, 90%...]
The mechanical voice continuously reported the data. At this moment, everyone could only pray that their battleship's Defense Shield would hold, as there was little they could do against the Mother Zerg's dispersive attack.
While enduring the Mother Zerg's assault, everyone on the battlefield was reminded once again of one thing: the Mother Zerg was indeed the Queen of all Zerg, and its power was formidable.
The Mother Zerg's attack was indeed powerful, but the energy it had gathered would eventually deplete. Just as the Defense Shields of the battleships were about to be half-depleted, the external attack finally ceased.
Seeing the attack stop, Scott immediately commanded, "All battleships, check your defense systems."
Facing the super boss that was the Mother Zerg, everyone understood the importance of defense. Even without Scott's reminder, the technicians on each battleship quickly began repairing the damaged defense systems and replenishing the depleted energy.
"Scott, how is our battleship's condition?" Wu Zimo asked with concern as he take advantage of the brief respite.
He had confidence in the Defense Shield system he had designed, but only by facing the Mother Zerg directly could one truly feel the terror of its attack.
"Don't worry."
The damage reports from the other hundred battleships soon came in, and Bokal's communication also connected to the Alman Battleship. "Marshal, the highest damage among the battleships is 65%, the lowest is 70%, and there are no casualties."
After reporting the official matters, Bokal's serious expression immediately relaxed. Seeing Wu Zimo standing beside Scott, his eyes showed a hint of excitement. "Wu Zimo, you really are something."
Not only was Bokal excited, but the soldiers on the other hundred battleships felt the same way.
Under such a powerful attack from the Mother Zerg, the Federation's battleships had suffered no damage at all. As for the energy consumed, it could simply be replenished.
Hearing Bokal's words, Wu Zimo was momentarily stunned.
But after reacting, he rolled his eyes and ignored the Lieutenant General. However, upon closer inspection, his black eyes revealed a sense of relief.
'Everyone was safe, that was great.'
Scott glanced at Wu Zimo as a hint of warmth flashing in his eyes. He then turned his head with his serious expression unchanged. "The battle has only just begun."
"Yes, Marshal!"
Scott's words made Bokal quickly tighten his expression and stand at attention while saluting.
Indeed, the battle had only just begun!
Compared to the excitement in the Federation, the situation on the Mola Empire's fleet side seemed less favorable, as they didn’t have Wu Zimo’s assistance to rely on.
The recent attack by the Mother Zerg had left only Prince Maijia’s flagship and the Sixth Prince’s battleship relatively unscathed. But the other ships were nearly a quarter damaged, and many soldiers were injured, though fortunately, there were no fatalities.
Prince Maijia glared at the Federation’s fleet in the distance, which remained completely unharmed while gritting his teeth in frustration. However, he could do nothing about it.
The malice in his eyes revealed that Prince Maijia was not someone who could be judged by conventional logic.
Upon hearing Scott’s order to continue the battle, Prince Maijia’s expression turned cold. He called over a trusted aide before he whispered something in his ear, and then sent him away.
Onboard the Alman Battleship, Scott and Wu Zimo were unaware that Prince Maijia, despite the dire situation, was still scheming against them as their focus was entirely on the massive Mother Zerg before them.
Since the battle with the Mother Zerg began, aside from the initial successful ambush, their subsequent attacks had been scattered and ineffective. Now, the Mother Zerg’s Advanced Dimensional Zerg escorts had also begun to move.
Scott and his team now had to deal not only with the Mother Zerg but also with the formidable Advanced Dimensional Zerg.
Deploying mechas against the Mother Zerg wasn’t ideal due to its enormous size, but they could be used effectively against the Advanced Dimensional Zerg in coordination with the battleships.
“All units, deploy the mecha teams!”
“Yes, sir!”
The mecha pilots had already boarded their mechas and were ready for action.
So, as soon as the order was given, the hatches beneath the battleships opened, and the mechas poured out like dumplings into boiling water.
Wu Zimo watched the mechas from other civilizations on the large screen with his horizons broadening as if he were seeing battleships for the first time.
He couldn’t help but compare them to the Federation’s mechas, which seemed rather plain in comparison.
While marveling at the sight, he also couldn’t resist mocking the aesthetic sense of the Gader Advanced Civilization.
He had expected their mechas to be elegant and noble, but the sea of gold before him made him want to facepalm—it was reminiscent of the gaudy rich gold trend from years past.
What surprised Wu Zimo the most were the mechas from the Mist Star civilization, which looked like a cloud of mist.
He wondered if their actual forms were also just a cloud of mist…
Scott didn’t need to worry about the mecha teams’ combat coordination because each mecha pilot was an elite, and each team worked seamlessly together, with their respective captains in charge.
The Advanced Dimensional Zerg escorts of the Mother Zerg were isolated by the mecha teams and prevented them from interfering with the battleships’ attacks.
Seeing its escorts being lured away by those pesky “food,” the Mother Zerg let out another roar of fury.
“Is it attacking again?”
“No.”
Wu Zimo, who had been intently focused on the Light Brain, immediately dismissed a soldier’s exclamation.
His hands were rapidly typing on the Light Brain.
But suddenly, his expression tightened and he looked up at Scott as he shout, “Scott, the Mother Zerg is contacting the Intelligent Zerg at the borders of various civilizations!”
“What?”
"Damn it! That bastard actually ordered all the Intelligent Zerg to launch their strongest attack!"
The Mother Zerg's command was so insidious that even Wu Zimo couldn't help but curse.
"Stay calm!"
Wu Zimo was worried about the situation at the Federation's border, and as the Federation's Marshal, Scott was naturally concerned as well. However, they had an even more critical mission at hand—
As long as they could eliminate the Mother Zerg before them, the rest of the Zerg would be nothing to fear!
The information Wu Zimo deciphered was simultaneously transmitted to the other battleships, so all the civilizations in the joint force knew that the Mother Zerg had vented its fury on the rear battle lines. While some of the more timid were anxious, most were filled with anger.
At the same time, their sentiments aligned with Scott's—as long as they could destroy the Mother Zerg, the crisis threatening their homes would be resolved!
The Mother Zerg was unaware that its outburst had only intensified the fighting spirit of its enemies.
The members of the joint force knew that this was truly a do-or-die battle—either they succeeded, or they perished!
"Screech!"
Another powerful energy blast was launched, but with Wu Zimo's super hacking skills, the battleship managed to evade it once again. However, the mechas fighting the Advanced Dimensional Zerg outside were in a bit of trouble.
The Federation's mechas were in better shape, as their Defense Shields were as strong as those of the battleships. After all, the program Wu Zimo initially wrote was designed for installation on mechas. While the battleships had been upgraded, the mechas hadn't been neglected either.
This time, the massive energy shield formed by the mechas not only protected themselves but also shielded the mecha squads of other civilizations within the defense range.
Those who had witnessed the Mother Zerg's attack were initially worried that their mecha squads might suffer heavy casualties. Because unlike battleships, mechas didn't have such robust defenses, and the Mother Zerg's attack was indiscriminate—it didn't just target them but also the Advanced Dimensional Zerg.
Seeing the Advanced Dimensional Zerg perish under the Mother Zerg's energy attack, the people on the battleships couldn't help but feel uneasy.
When the attack ceased, the people on the battleships turned their gaze to the mecha battlefield and observed the floating remnants of the Zerg in space.
Once again, they were reminded of the Mother Zerg's immense power and its cold-bloodedness. Under its attack, the Advanced Dimensional Zerg had suffered even greater losses.
The hearts of those on the battleships sank, but soon some of them felt relieved as they spotted familiar mechas standing amidst the debris. Along with a sense of security, they also felt gratitude.
The battleships quickly contacted the leaders of the mecha squads and learned that it was the Federation's mechas that had protected them during the Mother Zerg's attack. Subtly, the actions of the Federation's mecha squad had earned them increased goodwill from the mecha soldiers of other civilizations they had saved.
However, not all mechas were fortunate enough to be near the Federation's mechas and thus protected by the Defense Shield.
The mecha squad that suffered the heaviest losses outside was the Mola Empire's mecha squad.
This loss was to be expected.
Because not only were the Mola Empire's mechas of mediocre defensive grade, but given the hostile relationship between the Mola Empire and the Federation, the Mola Empire's mecha squad dared not approach the Federation's mecha squad as they fear a potential sabotage.
As for the conspiracy theorists among the mecha squads, it could only be said that they were overthinking things.
Even if the Federation harbored resentment, they had a broader perspective.
At this moment, they had a common enemy—they would deal with the Zerg first and settle other matters later.
Therefore, under the attack of the Mother Zerg, if the mechas of the Mola Empire were beside the Federation mecha squad, they would certainly be covered by the Defense Shield. As for now, it could only be said that they brought it upon themselves.
However, the Mola Empire was unaware that when the Federation mechas activated the Defense Shield, they had notified the mechas of other civilizations nearby to come closer.
For example, Utaima received a notification from the Federation squad leader.
Indeed, this representative of the Gader Advanced Civilization was currently piloting his luxurious golden mecha in the battlefield and engaging in fierce combat.
If one hadn't seen Utaima's appearance and just judging solely by his combat style, one might think a brutal bandit from the mountains had emerged to wreak havoc.
"Thank you." said the screen that was displaying a handsome and captivating smile. However, recalling the ferocity of his combat, the Federation mecha squad leader who received Utaima's thanks could only twitch his lips and reply, "No...no need to be polite.
Unaware of the Federation soldier's inner turmoil, Utaima smiled gracefully before he ended the communication, and led his mecha squad to continue their rampage.
Watching the departing squad of golden mechas, the Federation mecha squad leader couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
The extreme contrast in Utaima's demeanor was simply too overwhelming.
Unlike those who could breathe a sigh of relief, the Mola Empire was not as fortunate this time under the Zerg attack.
The Mola Empire had dispatched a total of 250 warships and 1,000 mechas. In the first attack, only the warships were damaged. But this time, however, 78 mechas were lost, 120 were severely damaged and unable to continue fighting, and around 300 suffered moderate to light damage.
On the warship side, three were directly destroyed and with many others damaged. Even the propulsion system of Prince Maijia's flagship was compromised.
Prince Maijia looked at the undamaged Federation warships and mechas with his eyes brimming with hatred.
"Repair the flagship as quickly as possible, then follow the Alman Battleship closely."
"Yes!" The Mola Empire soldier piloting the warship didn't understand why Prince Maijia issued such an order, but even if he found it strange, he could only obey.
Prince Maijia's warship slowly left the Mola Empire fleet and stealthily headed towards the coordinates of the Alman Battleship. Meanwhile, the Sixth Prince Bardwell, who had been at the rear of the fleet and reacted swiftly, thus suffering minimal losses, received a report from his subordinates after his warship was repaired and stating that the flagship's course seemed unusual.
"Your Highness?" Bardwell's confidant, seeing his master deep in thought over the report, hesitantly called out.
"Let Moroji take command. We will follow Maijia."
"This... Yes."
The thoughts of their Master were not something subordinates could easily guess. Since His Highness had issued this command, they naturally had to comply.
Unbeknownst to the Alman Battleship, two warships were deviating from their original course and heading towards it. Honestly, in the chaos of the battlefield, it wasn't unusual for a couple of warships to stray from their formation.
The battle continued with the flashes of artillery fire incessantly lighting up the starry sky.
Suddenly, a communication request came through to the Alman Battleship.
The soldier in charge of communications immediately turned to report to Scott, "Marshal, it's a communication request from the Gader Advanced Civilization."
"Accept it."
"Yes!"
After the communication was connected, it was actually Utaima.
Wu Zimo knew that Utaima had driven his luxurious golden mecha to the battlefield and wreaked havoc.
He wondered why someone who should be busy suddenly contacted them.
"Marshal Alman, look," Utaima said without any preamble and directly transmitted the scene he had captured.
Since the mecha was constantly moving, the footage was shaky but it still allowed Scott and Wu Zimo to clearly see what was happening.
Wu Zimo looked at the scene before him.
He wasn't sure what others were thinking, but he felt an indescribable sense of awkwardness.
You see, even those who practice Invulnerable Protective Magic have a vulnerable spot that's hard to talk about. And targeting this spot, a certain golden-haired, cheerful yet slightly idiotic young man had created a special move—the Thousand Year Kill!
So, you can probably guess what Utaima had captured in his footage.
However, Scott and the others weren't as "dirty-minded" as Wu Zimo. Scott looked at the scene and fell into deep thought, while Utaima didn't rush him.
After a while, Scott finally spoke, "Good work."
"Heh, we're all just trying to eliminate the Mother Zerg."
Scott and Utaima nodded, then Scott ended the communication and contacted Bokal. "Bokal, you'll take full command from now on."
"Huh? Scott, what are you planning?"
Transferring command in the middle of a battle was a major taboo in military strategy and Scott wouldn't do this unless it was urgent.
"Later, I'll lead a vanguard squad in an assault."
Scott sent Bokal the footage Utaima had just captured.
After seeing it, Bokal immediately understood Scott's plan.
His eyes flickered, and he finally nodded.
"Be careful." Bokal said seriously before standing at attention and saluting. His eyes showed concern, but more than that, trust.
Scott's plan was far more dangerous than their current strategy of attacking the Mother Zerg from the battleships. However, if successful, it would be much more effective than their current approach.
Although the joint forces seemed evenly matched with the Mother Zerg, Scott had long realized that their attacks were doing minimal damage. Thus, they needed to find another way to break through.
Scott nodded solemnly, then turned and left.
Of course, Wu Zimo didn't need to ask—he quickly followed Scott.
Hearing the footsteps behind him, Scott stopped and turned. He was about to speak, but Wu Zimo interrupted him.
"Don't say it. I'm going with you. I'm your Guide, not just in words."
Silver eyes met black pupils, and as before, it was Scott who relented first.
He knew that with the young man's personality, there was no way he would obediently wait on the Alman Battleship for his return.
"Aren't you afraid?"
"Of course I am." Wu Zimo replied.
How could he not be? He didn't have the protagonist's plot armor, but he was even more afraid of something happening to Scott where he couldn't see.
Wu Zimo nodded honestly then as if remembering something, his eyebrows twitched and he continued, "But compared to fear, don't you think it's even more brutal for us to go and blow up the Mother Zerg's XX?"
"..." Hearing Wu Zimo's words, Scott was momentarily at a loss for how to respond.
'Kid, are you here to disgust people?'
Fortunately, only Scott heard Wu Zimo describe their assault mission in such a way, or else it would really make people lose their appetite.
Scott led Wu Zimo aboard the Slaughter, where the elite soldiers who were to follow Scott on the assault mission were already waiting.
The Alman Battleship's hangar door slowly opened, and the Slaughter was the first to activate, with its power system emitting white smoke as the massive mecha shot out.
Following closely behind, other mecha pilots passed through the hangar door one by one then entered the cosmos.
This assault mission valued quality over quantity, and it wasn't just Scott's side that dispatched eleven mechas; Utaima and his team were also waiting nearby.
Seeing this row of golden mechas up close was almost blinding.
If it weren't for the inappropriate timing, Wu Zimo really wanted to ask Utaima about their aesthetic sense.
Scott and Wu Zimo, who had joined up with Utaima, were unaware that behind them was a black mecha that they were secretly following.
The pilot of this mecha was none other than Prince Maijia, who had been thinking about Wu Zimo all along, and Feng Yan'er, who had been dragged along against her will.
Speaking of which, Feng Yan'er felt she shouldn't have lied to Prince Maijia, or else she wouldn't have to go through such a terrifying experience.
When Prince Maijia grabbed her arm and dragged her out, Feng Yan'er screamed and struggled while begging her father to save her, but to no avail.
Tied to the co-pilot's seat of the mecha, Feng Yan'er's eyes were red with hatred—hatred for Wu Zimo, for Scott Alman, and for Prince Maijia in front of her.
If it weren't for them, she wouldn't be in such a dangerous place and about to face the terrifying and brutal Mother Zerg directly.
But Feng Yan'er, who was cursing heaven, earth, and everyone, never considered that the situation she was in was entirely of her own making.
If it weren't for the lie that made Prince Maijia believe Wu Zimo could help Sentinels break through their Spiritual Strength, she wouldn't have needed to go to the battlefield.
"Feng Yan'er, I treated you with courtesy before because you were still useful. If you continue to be ungrateful then don't blame me for being impolite!"
Prince Maijia's narrow eyes were filled with malice as his dissatisfaction with Feng Yan'er, this woman from the Federation, grew stronger.
But seeing Feng Yan'er with her head bowed, as if resigned to her fate, Prince Maijia said nothing more and focused on the slaughter ahead.
Prince Maijia, who is secretly following Scott, was also unaware that behind him was a mecha that were stealthily tailing him, piloted by Sixth Prince Bardwell.
I must say, this surprise attack was quite lively.
This operation involved not only the Federation and the Gader Advanced Civilization but also that mysterious group of Mist-Ma Star People, which had long puzzled Wu Zimo.
This indicated that the combat capabilities of these strange, fog-like aliens were undoubtedly top-notch.
After the three teams of mechas converged, they swiftly flew toward their target.
Bokal, who is entrusted with a heavy responsibility, understood that to ensure Scott and the others carry out their mission smoothly, their warships needed to attract the attention of the Mother Zerg.
Bokal's command skills were only slightly inferior to Scott's, but his eccentric personality had made it difficult for others to entrust him with important tasks. Soon, Bokal formulated a plan and the attack pattern of the warships on the battlefield suddenly changed.
Although Scott had handed command over to Bokal, he remained vigilant about the battlefield changes.
Seeing the movement of the warships, he quickly grasped Bokal's intentions and raised an eyebrow.
"Increase speed."
Since Bokal had already begun to take action, they couldn't lag behind and waste the opportunity he had provided.
"Understood."
Wu Zimo had not heard the Mist-Ma Star People speak, but they were undoubtedly action-oriented.
Scott and his team quickly reached the XX location of the Mother Zerg.
This time, Wu Zimo refrained from saying anything nauseating.
Moreover, what was referred to as XX appeared to Wu Zimo more like a passage—a massive one and large enough to allow a warship to pass through.
Uncertain whether the Mother Zerg was overly confident in its own strength or for some other reason, Wu Zimo did not see any traces of the Zerg in this area.
Scott and his team easily entered the body of the Mother Zerg, leaving Wu Zimo with a sense of disbelief.
However, there was no time for Wu Zimo to marvel at their luck, as the assault team soon encountered something shocking.
"Eggs?!"
Indeed, through the screen, Wu Zimo saw a row of densely packed eggs of various sizes that could induce claustrophobia.
"Marshal Alman, be careful!"
As Wu Zimo's gaze was drawn to the multitude of eggs, one of them suddenly cracked open beneath Slaughter, and a forearm covered in spikes shot toward Slaughter in a swift motion.
Without Utaima's reminder, Scott reacted quickly. Not only did he evade the ambush, but he also retaliated by firing at the cracked egg.
Scott's gunfire sounded like the horn of war that caused many of the surrounding eggs to burst open and release a swarm of Zerg.
Wu Zio looked at the newly hatched Zerg and realized why there had been no Zerg outside; it turned out they were all inside the eggs! Even in their egg state!
"You all go ahead."
The Mist-Ma Star People, who had remained silent until now, suddenly spoke.
Wu Zimo focused on their voice, which was dry and hoarse before he understood why they rarely spoke. However, Scott and the others understood the meaning behind their words.
After a moment of silence and knowing that the Mist-Ma Star People's choice was the most prudent, he said, "You all be careful."
It was uncertain how long the distraction strategy outside could hold, and now was not the time for them to waste time.
Scott and the others quickly made a decision.
Utaima's luxurious golden mecha team and Scott's mecha squad swiftly departed with the help of the Mist-Ma Star People.
The eggs before them seemed endless, but Wu Zimo noticed that compared to the earlier eggs that occasionally revealed claws, most of the ones they encountered now were still unhatched.
"Marshal Alman, we cannot let these eggs hatch."
"Agreed."
Scott shared Utaima's thoughts and quickly concurred, thus they sped ahead with the mecha's gunfire never ceasing.
It seemed like a waste of energy, but Wu Zimo understood that if they allowed the eggs before them to hatch, it would not only have severe consequences for them but also for the joint forces outside responsible for drawing fire.
The two mecha teams blasted their way through, and Wu Zimo had no time to marvel at the spectacle more shocking than an IMAX screen, as he sensed Scott's Spiritual Strength continuously rising.
Wu Zimo's intuition was correct; while bombing the Zerg eggs, Scott was using his powerful Spiritual Strength to search for the weaknesses of the Mother Zerg.
The Mother Zerg was so massive that even if they caused chaos inside, it might not necessarily lead to its demise.
Uncertain whether Scott's Spiritual Strength had drawn the Mother Zerg's attention, the Mother Zerg, which had been attacking the warships, suddenly halted.
Then it emitted a piercing scream.
Inside the Mother Zerg, Wu Zimo and the others felt no impact, but poor Bokal and the others outside wished they could cover their ears. However, they knew that even covering their ears wouldn't block the sound waves of the Mother Zerg, as these waves were activated by Spiritual Strength.
The Intelligent Zerg could sense the danger level from Caesar's Spiritual fluctuations, and the Mother Zerg could certainly do the same.
Initially, Scott had not used his Spiritual Strength, which was why the Mother Zerg had not realized its target was right in front of it. Now, however, as Scott sought to find the weaknesses within the Mother Zerg, his Spiritual fluctuations were immediately detected by the Mother Zerg.
The Mother Zerg's attacks were sharp, but they were futile because the target it aimed to attack was within its own body and had no effect whatsoever, and just only caused Bokal and the others to suffer collateral damage.
"I found it!"
Unbeknownst to the Mother Zerg, while it attempted to attack Scott with its Spiritual Strength, Scott had captured a trace of abnormal Spiritual fluctuations. By following this trace, he finally discovered where the Mother Zerg's weakness lay.
"Where is it?"
Utaima did not doubt Scott's words; he knew Scott's Spiritual Strength was indeed formidable, otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to silence all the interstellar representatives in the conference room.
"Follow me!"
Scott wasted no time and led the way with everyone closely following behind him.
Outside, the Mother Zerg's spiritual assault continued.
Bokal gritted his teeth, "Everyone, hold on! Sentinels, fall back; Guides, move forward!"
"Yes!"
The Mother Zerg's Spiritual attacks were similar to those of the Intelligent Zerg. Although not as lethal as the all-or-nothing attacks of the Intelligent Zerg, its attacks targeted only the Sentinels. With the Sentinels incapacitated, it was finally the Guides' turn to shine.
Whether on the mechas or inside the warships, there were plenty of Guides. Although the combat power of the Guides was inferior to that of the Sentinels, in this situation, the reactions and abilities displayed by the Guides were not at all inferior to those of the Sentinels.
While those outside were in dire straits, Scott and his team's actions proceeded smoothly as they quickly reached the location of the Mother Zerg's weakness.
Wu Zimo looked at the pear-shaped object before him, which resembled a pituitary gland yet also a heart and were pulsating continuously. Although he did not know what it was, he could clearly sense the immense energy contained within this object.
"This?"
"Yes."
Since Scott nodded, Utaima and the others did not waste words, all raising their energy cannons to aim at the strange object before them. Just as Scott and the others were about to attack, an unexpected event occurred.
The Mother Zerg, possessing intelligence higher than that of ordinary beings, quickly realized the problem.
The tiny ants before it were being ruthlessly tormented by its Spiritual attacks, but the Spiritual fluctuations that terrified it remained unchanged.
Indeed, it was scared.
Only by personally experiencing this Spiritual fluctuation did the Mother Zerg understand the concerns of the Intelligent Zerg. It absolutely had to kill the being possessing this Spiritual fluctuation; otherwise, it would be too dangerous for the Zerg!
Realizing that the target was not in front of it, the Mother Zerg quickly discovered that the target was actually within its own body and right at its energy core!
The Mother Zerg was powerful, but it also had its weaknesses—its energy core. If the energy core were destroyed, it would die immediately.
Upon noticing Scott and the others' movements, the Mother Zerg truly became frightened and immediately unleashed a powerful Spiritual attack against them.
With no choice, they had to evade the Mother Zerg's attack. However, the subsequent developments made Wu Zimo feel that everything was coming together.
In the direction where Slaughter dodged, a mecha suddenly burst forth.
Wu Zimo barely had time to shout, "Which corner of the Mola Empire did this mecha come from?!"
The mecha appeared suddenly, but Scott's piloting skills were exceptionally sharp.
With a swift maneuver, he avoided a collision with the mecha that caused the mecha that had intended to crash into Slaughter to collide directly with the Mother Zerg's attack.
Boom!
The collision was explosive.
The Mother Zerg's attack, however, did not cease, and various explosions erupted continuously.
The space where the energy core was located was so small that even the most skilled pilots of thirty mechas could not maneuver effectively in such a confined area.
Thus, it wasn't just Utaima's mechas that sustained damage; the Federation's mechas were no exception.
"Damn it!" Under the Mother Zerg's relentless attacks, Utaima's mecha also suffered damage with its left arm unable to evade in time and getting severed.
After a round of intense attacks, even Slaughter could not remain unscathed, let alone the others.
Some mechas were so damaged that their pilots had to abandon them to avoid being injured in the explosions. Fortunately, everyone was equipped with simple space suits, so they were not in danger even if they exited the mechas.
The Sentinels protected their Guides as they jumped to the ground.
Upon landing, the expressions of the Guides changed.
They knew they were inside the Mother Zerg, but stepping on the soft flesh felt indescribable.
Although Slaughter was not severely damaged, the cramped space made piloting the mecha inconvenient.
Scott held Wu Zimo and jumped down from the mecha.
With Scott doing so, everyone else followed suit and jumped out of their mechas.
Upon landing, Wu Zimo's keen eyes spotted a figure lying in the distance near the wreckage of the exploded Mola Empire mecha.
"Scott."
Wu Zimo tugged at Scott, but Scott merely glanced in that direction and did not pay further attention. Wu Zimo did not see who was lying there, but Scott's powerful Spiritual Strength informed him that it was Feng Yan'er.
There was no time to ponder how Feng Yan'er ended up here, as the Mother Zerg's attacks showed no signs of stopping, as if it had found a target it must eliminate.
Scott also sensed the Mother Zerg's murderous intent toward him and immediately pushed Wu Zimo aside. Before the next wave of attacks arrived, Caesar from the Spiritual World, charged out to confront the Mother Zerg's powerful Spiritual attack.
"Roar!"
Caesar, the Emperor Leopard, exuded an aura that was not at all inferior to the Mother Zerg's Spiritual entity.
Watching Caesar and the Mother Zerg's Spiritual forces entangle, Wu Zimo felt extremely anxious but did not make a sound.
Just as Wu Zimo focused on Scott's battle, a black giant snake with bone wings charged toward him.
"Madam, be careful!"
Before Wu Zimo could even react to the term "Madam," he was knocked to the ground by a powerful force.
When he opened his eyes, he saw that the giant snake, which had intended to attack him, had been collided into another direction by a quantum beast resembling a mammoth.
Wu Zimo was uninjured, though he was indeed a bit startled.
"Zimo!"
"I'm fine!"
Hearing Scott's exclamation, Wu Zimo quickly replied.
Scott's situation was far more dangerous than his.
Indeed, with Scott's focus, Caesar was grazed by the Mother Zerg's attack on his wings.
When the quantum beast was injured, its Master would also feel pain, yet Scott's expression showed no signs of distress.
"I'm really fine!" Wu Zimo reassured Scott again before urging him to concentrate on dealing with the Mother Zerg.
"Be careful."
"I won't, don't worry."
The sudden ambush by Prince Maijia had nearly caught Wu Zimo off guard. Indeed, the one attacking Wu Zimo was none other than Prince Maijia, who had stealthily followed them.
Honestly, Wu Zimo had no idea how Prince Maijia had managed to follow them here unscathed.
He originally intended to severely injure Scott and then abduct Wu Zimo but Prince Maijia had to escape his mecha when Scott reacted too quickly.
As for Feng Yan'er, who had been left behind, the situation was critical, and he had no time to pay attention. Thus, Feng Yan'er now lay on the ground while still unaware of her fate.
Having safely escaped, Prince Maijia saw Scott focused on battling the Mother Zerg and plotted to take the opportunity to abduct Wu Zimo. However, this time, the one who came to disrupt him was his good brother, Bardwell.
The mammoth quantum beast that saved Wu Zimo was Bardwell's quantum beast.
Wu Zimo was grateful for the assistance, but more than that, he was speechless.
How had they all managed to follow along?
With a gaze filled with malice, Prince Maijia confronted Bardwell. Wu Zimo did not understand why Bardwell had saved him but chose not to say anything.
Scott was still entangled with the Mother Zerg with neither side gaining the upper hand, while the others were also dealing with the Mother Zerg's Spiritual attacks.
It seemed Wu Zimo had some free time again.
But Wu Zimo felt a sudden movement in his Spiritual World.
Ares, who had been hibernating, suddenly popped out while feeling panicked, and exclaimed to Wu Zimo.
(≧口≦) Master! Ares' home has gone from very cold to very hot!
"Ah?" Wu Zimo had no idea what Ares meant, and he was even more concerned about the crack that had appeared on Ares' white shell!
"Ares, you..."
Before Wu Zimo could ask how Ares had gotten a crack, the panicked Ares happened to see Caesar being struck by the Mother Zerg.
Seeing Caesar being hit hard, Ares became furious!
(艸皿艸 ) How dare you hit Ares' big black leopard! Seeking death!
Although Ares often appeared hopeless while interacting with Caesar, it did not mean he did not like Caesar.
Thus, seeing someone dare to strike Caesar, the adorable egg showed that it could be quite fierce when angered!
(≧へ≦) Big black leopard, don't be afraid! Ares is coming!
Before Wu Zimo could react, the large white egg that had been in his arms shot toward Caesar like a cannonball.
In an instant, Wu Zimo could only adopt a helpless pose and unsure whether to marvel at his adorable egg's boldness or to feel anxious.
"Ares, come back! You have a crack on your shell! Aren't you afraid of smashing your egg white and yolk by charging around like this?!"
Whether Ares was worried about smashing his egg white and yolk was temporarily unknown, but Ares, who had joined Caesar, was indeed formidable.
Although Ares lacked combat power, it possessed an incredibly powerful innate skill—absolute defense.
And because the Mother Zerg's Spiritual attacks specifically targeted Sentinels, with Ares' absolute defense protecting Caesar, it was as if he had donned an invincible shield.
What had been a stalemate turned into the Mother Zerg's retreat.
"Chirp!"
With Ares stepping in, the Mother Zerg's anger surged.
No longer holding back, the space twisted again and a swirling mass of dark energy appeared before the Mother Zerg's energy body.
Even without Scott releasing it, the power of this energy was palpable, causing all the hairs on Scott's body to stand on end. And before the energy body could unleash its attack, Scott quickly turned and lunged toward Wu Zimo.
"Zimo!" With Wu Zimo's agility, he could not evade this attack.
Not only Wu Zimo but also Utaima and the others displayed expressions of terror before quickly gathering together.
Just as Scott had just wrapped Wu Zimo in his arms, the Mother Zerg's attack was unleashed.
As before, the energy mass's attack was indiscriminate.
The Mother Zerg was genuinely enraged by Caesar and Ares, the two quantum beasts.
They knew this was the energy core of the Mother Zerg and one misstep could lead to the Mother Zerg's self-destruction.
Boom!
The sound of continuous explosions echoed.
On the other side, Ares stared blankly at the series of explosions occurring, and not only did the Mother Zerg's anger levels soar, but Ares' own fury also reached its peak.
(艸皿艸 ) (艸皿艸 ) (艸皿艸 ) This damned bug not only hit the big black leopard but also dared to harm the master. Does it really think Ares only knows how to be cute!!!
With Ares' anger surging, the originally white shell began to emit faint red light, especially the crack that Wu Zimo was very worried about, which seemed to lengthen under Ares' fury as a fiery red light faintly seeping through the crack.
"Ugh, it hurts!"
Scott held Wu Zimo tightly while dodging the erratic black light. But suddenly, the boy in his arms let out a pained cry.
"Zimo."
"Scott, my head, it hurts so much..." Wu Zimo knew that in such a situation, it was not suitable for Scott to be distracted, but his head truly hurt like hell!
If he could, Wu Zimo would love to have it chopped off...
"Zimo!" Wu Zimo did not notice, but Scott clearly saw that as Wu Zimo's headache intensified, his complexion grew increasingly pale.
However, before Scott could check what was happening with Wu Zimo, a clear, melodious phoenix cry and a burst of fiery red light instantly filled the small space.
"Clang!"
The powerful gale not only blew away the dust but even dispersed the Mother Zerg's attacks.
As the phoenix cry resonated, Wu Zimo's headache vanished instantly.
If it weren't for his still pale complexion, he would have doubted that the intense pain he had just felt was merely an illusion.
When he looked up toward the direction of the phoenix cry, he felt as if—ah, he must be dreaming.
The book "Erya Shiyi" contains descriptions of the legendary divine beast, the phoenix—chicken head, swallow neck, snake neck, turtle back, fish tail, and multicolored, standing about six feet tall.
Although the colors of the phoenix before Wu Zimo were not multicolored but fiery red and combined with the surrounding flames, it was blinding, yet the fact that it was a phoenix remained unchanged.
“Ah, Ares?” Wu Zimo knew the legends of the Feng Family, but that didn’t mean he truly believed that their adorable little egg would hatch into such a magnificent divine beast.
Wu Zimo’s voice was soft, but Ares still heard him.
With fiery red eyes, he glanced at Wu Zimo, who was being held by Scott, before turning away; he had more important matters to attend to.
This little bug had attacked Caesar and was trying to harm his master—seeking death!
Before anyone could look away, the majestic divine bird spread its wings and with a single sweep, sent the suppressed spiritual form of the Mother Zerg flying.
Once it landed, the divine bird took a few steps, then raised its large right claw and stomped down hard on the Mother Zerg.
With a sharp beak, it pecked and tore, and the Mother Zerg’s Spiritual Strength could only emit a mournful cry before dissipating.
The proud divine bird lifted its head with its expression full of disdain.
( ̄ヘ ̄o* ) Hmph, bugs!
Everyone present who witnessed the divine bird’s swift annihilation of the Mother Zerg, was momentarily stunned.
Was it really that simple?
However, not everyone was captivated by Ares’s overwhelming presence.
Just as Ares was about to show off and seek affection from Wu Zimo, a shrill scream that was even more piercing than before, echoed in their ears and the ground began to shake.
Wu Zimo quickly turned his gaze and saw Utaima, who had somehow ridden his dazzling golden lion to the front of the energy core with a massive energy blade embedded in it.
Seeing everyone staring at him in shock, Utaima smiled slightly and casually said, “Our mission is complete.”
Looking at the smiling beauty seated atop a gigantic golden lion, with a fearsome energy blade used by a mech behind him, Wu Zimo swore he would never again criticize Utaima’s taste.
All he wanted to say to the beauty riding the beast was: Well done!
But now was not the time for idle chatter. With the energy core of the Mother Zerg destroyed, they needed to leave its body quickly, or they would become cosmic dust along with this ferocious Zerg queen.
“Let’s hurry and leave!”
Although the mecha had sustained considerable damage, there were still enough operational parts for everyone to squeeze in.
Scott and the others prepared to retreat, while at another corner, Prince Bardwell walked steadily to the front of Prince Maijia, or what was left of him before looking down at him. However, at this moment, Prince Maijia’s gaze was fixated on the suddenly appearing phoenix.
His bloodied mouth was still muttering about the phoenix.
Prince Bardwell looked at Prince Maijia with disdain, shook his head, and then ignored him as he walked toward the mecha.
Prince Maijia was not killed by Prince Bardwell; he had died under the black attack of the Mother Zerg. His death could only be described as self-inflicted.
Scott and his group retreated quickly and encountered the Mist-Ma Star People who were preparing to support them along the way. After regrouping, they swiftly left the body of the Mother Zerg.
The mournful cry emitted by the Mother Zerg due to the destruction of its energy core was clearly heard by Bokal and the others.
They were not fools; it was obvious that Scott and his team had succeeded.
Excitement was written all over their faces, but they did not forget their mission. “All units, prepare for a full assault!”
“Yes!”
Amidst the continuous explosions, Scott and his team’s mechas appeared on the screen.
“General Bokal, it’s Marshal Alman and the others!”
“I see them! Great! Activate the rescue robots. After picking them up, we’ll leave this star region immediately.”
Although the Mother Zerg was still struggling under their bombardment, Bokal had already received communication from Scott.
With the energy core destroyed, the Mother Zerg would self-destruct even without their intervention.
The powerful pull from the self-detonation would drag them in if they didn’t leave quickly.
The joint fleet’s warships swiftly departed.
The remaining Mother Zerg, though furious, could do nothing but accept the arrival of death.
Once they left the Abyss Star Region, everyone could finally relax their tense spirits and seeing their surviving companions, they all burst into relieved and excited laughter.
They had eliminated a threat that had plagued the universe for years; it felt like a dream!
Due to Wu Zimo’s sudden headache, even though he was fine, Scott was very worried and took him to Doctor Wang while accompanied by Caesar and Ares.
As for Scott, he returned to the bridge to wrap up the final tasks.
Just then, a communication request from the Mola Empire came through.
“Mola Empire? Connect.” Scott didn’t know what the Mola Empire wanted, but Prince Maijia’s actions had made him furious, even though he was already dead at the hands of the Mother Zerg.
The communication quickly connected, and sure enough, the figure of Prince Bardwell, the Sixth Prince, appeared on the screen.
“Marshal Alman, hello.”
Although the other party’s attitude was not bad, Scott merely stared coldly at him. However, Prince Bardwell didn’t mind as he smiled slightly and continued, “There may have been some misunderstandings between the Mola Empire and the Federation. To express my apologies, I will ensure that the Federation personnel in Prince Maijia’s possession are returned promptly.”
Feng Yan’er was dead, but the Feng Family Head and Cui Yi were still alive.
Scott narrowed his eyes.
He could see ambition in Prince Bardwell’s gaze.
As for what kind of ambition it was, Scott didn’t care as he just simply nodded in acknowledgment.
Considering he had saved Wu Zimo, he accepted Prince Bardwell’s goodwill.
Wu Zimo was unaware of the deal between Scott and Prince Bardwell.
After Doctor Wang examined him and confirmed he was perfectly fine, he joined Doctor Wang in observing Ares.
Looking at Ares before him, the awe and shock he felt upon first seeing Ares inside the Mother Zerg were now just fleeting memories.
What majesty and beauty were all nonsense because the creature before him was merely the size of two palms while standing proudly atop Caesar’s head and lacking the previous grandeur.
However, his adorable little egg had hatched into a small tsundere, and Wu Zimo needed to get used to it. Yet, the tsundere was just as much an illusion as the previous majesty; Ares hadn’t even shown off for long before flapping his wings and flying into Wu Zimo’s embrace.
He kept nuzzling and was more affectionate than when he was still an egg.
Scott, having finished his tasks, came over to pick up Wu Zimo while inquiring about the examination results.
After receiving the reassuring answer that Wu Zimo was healthy, he glanced at Ares in Wu Zimo’s arms but said nothing more and just embraced Wu Zimo as he bid farewell to Doctor Wang.
Back in their room, Scott leaned down and placed a kiss on Wu Zimo’s forehead before holding him tightly in his arms. “I’m so glad you’re okay.”
Feeling Scott’s worry and fear, Wu Zimo smiled and wrapped his arms around Scott’s back. “Sorry for
making you worry.”
“Alright, Scott, we should talk about something happy. We’ve eliminated the Mother Zerg, and the remaining Zerg will be dealt with soon. The universe will welcome peace.”
“But when we get back, there’s still a lot to do. For example…”
“For example?”
“For example, raising children and such.”
Upon hearing Wu Zimo’s words, Scott was momentarily taken aback, then his brows softened. “That’s a great suggestion.”
Scott never expected Wu Zimo to propose such a thing, considering how young he was. However, Scott didn’t know that Wu Zimo was not that young because counting his previous life, he was almost thirty. So, it wasn’t surprising that he liked children.
Moreover, he was very curious about what a little bun like Scott would look like; it would definitely be adorable!
However, everyone returning victorious was unaware that in the Zerg’s stronghold in the Dark Star Region, an Intelligent Zerg was cradling an egg roughly the same size as itself before carefully flying deeper into the Dark Star Region.
