Chapter 4

Marry Me, I'm Super Well-Behaved [Esports] (MARRY ME)

Get—

Married?!?!?!

Staring at the face so close to his, Ning Nanzhou's throat went dry. He lifted his head with difficulty, trying to think.

Was this… still a dream?

Even in a dream, this was too absurd!

Chi Yu seemed to notice his confusion and explained, "Though you don’t mind, my family has been pressuring me to marry. So I made this abrupt request—I hope it doesn’t trouble you."

Ah, so it was just to appease his family.

Ning Nanzhou finally felt a sliver of reality. Even a Triple Crown God like him got pressured to marry—very on-brand for societal norms!

The thought of having a room full of autographed merch and being able to watch matches anytime after marriage made Ning Nanzhou agree without hesitation.

A small obstacle arose before heading to the registry office: how was he supposed to put his clothes on?

A T-shirt and jacket were manageable—he could slip those on while sitting on the bed. But the rest of his clothes… he’d have to get out of bed, right?

After hesitating for a moment, he stepped off the bed, planning to bolt to the bathroom at lightning speed.

But halfway there, Chi Yu called out from behind, "Wait."

"What’s wrong?" For obvious reasons, he was extremely nervous now—the slightest disturbance could startle him.

The other wiped him clean and gently tossed the tissue into the trash. "There."

He quickly dressed, his peripheral vision catching the sight of Chi Yu’s slender, long fingers.

Were they always this long…?

……

The moment they arrived at the Civil Affairs Bureau, a staff member greeted them with a beaming smile. "Here to register your marriage?"

Ning Nanzhou glanced at Chi Yu and nodded.

"Let me briefly explain the process. To accommodate everyone’s time, the procedures have been simplified. Just take a number and you can proceed. Besides your IDs, you’ll need a two-inch photo. If you don’t have one, no worries—we have a photographer in the certification hall."

The staff led them to the reception area. "Just wait here. Oh, and here’s a free premarital checkup voucher. If you haven’t done one yet, it’s recommended to avoid high-risk sexual behavior."

Ning Nanzhou nearly choked. "No need."

A marriage of convenience for family’s sake probably didn’t require that.

Before queuing, they had to fill out basic information. Chi Yu took the form from the staff, his slender fingers tapping lightly on the table. "Your name."

Snapping out of it, Ning Nanzhou gave his name. Chi Yu repeated it softly, "Ning Nanzhou?"

Chi Yu had a very proper appearance—striking the perfect balance between understated and striking. His shirt was buttoned to the top, fully concealing his muscular frame.

His voice was calm and composed, yet for some reason, when Chi Yu said his name, it carried an indescribable… allure.

Ning Nanzhou had heard online jokes about the Crescent Bay Civil Affairs Bureau’s efficiency, thinking it was exaggerated. But in reality, from queuing to getting their marriage certificate, it took only half an hour.

If his university had this kind of speed, they wouldn’t still be constructing a building after five years.

Leaving the bureau, Ning Nanzhou was so exhilarated he desperately wanted to share the joy of soon owning autographed merch!

First, he ruled out Xu Ye—given Xu Ye’s boyfriend turnover rate, telling him would mean the entire school knowing. Next, he dismissed his childhood friend Chen Dongdong, who was studying Chinese in the UK. If he told him he’d married Chi Yu, Chen Dongdong would probably fly back overnight, tearfully gripping his hands and urging him to seek medical help.

Picturing that scene… he decided to share it anonymously on a forum instead.

[OP] Just got married to the guy I’ve liked for seven years. The first autograph I got from him was on our marriage application. My current mood: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

The forum was a niche ACG one, and replies poured in within half a minute.

[1L] !!!!! SO SWEET!!! I need to hear the follow-up!!!

[2L] Came here to play forum games, opened the page and got force-fed dog food. Wuwuwuwu I want more.

[3L] Holy crap, is this a fan-turned-wife scenario?!?!

He’d originally typed out a long post, even planning to ask how to request an autograph—was it inappropriate to ask for one on the first day of marriage (°ー°〃)?

But the last reply froze him—

He suddenly remembered Chi Yu had a strict rule against dating fans. The exact reason was unclear, but it seemed tied to his past.

If Chi Yu found out he was a fan, would he think this was a scam marriage?!

He hastily typed a new post.

[OP] Help! Just remembered something—my husband has repeatedly said he doesn’t date fans. We met offline, and he doesn’t know I’m a fan. What do I do in this situation?

[1L] Uh… came for the dog food, left confused.

[2L] Some people are really against dating fans. A seven-year fan would be hard to hide, but damn, this makes it even more intriguing!

[3L] OP, you’ve successfully hooked me. Update us on what happens next!!!

Ning Nanzhou fell silent at the replies. He was asking for help, not writing a romance thread! How was he supposed to salvage his freshly minted, innocent college student marriage?!

Seeing the forum was no help, he took a deep breath. The only way now was to conceal his identity as a longtime fan.

After three years of dedicated fandom—daily check-ins, comment contributions, supporting Chi Yu in his small way—he’d forgotten how to act like a casual bystander.

Closing his phone, his mind was in chaos, especially when Chi Yu politely asked, "May I ask why you agreed to marry?"

Right.

Why would he marry a stranger? Before saying yes, he hadn’t even known the man’s name!

Ning Nanzhou’s throat felt parched. Fortunately, he’d read countless BL comics, and lines like "I’m conservative," "My parents forced me to marry to pay debts," and "A feng shui master told me to marry" flashed through his mind.

In the end, he blurted out:

"For extra credits."

After he spoke, Chi Yu silently stared at him. Keeping his composure, Ning Nanzhou explained, "A marriage certificate is a national-level credential. National credentials can earn you extra credits."

Chi Yu neither approved nor disapproved, only replying neutrally, "I see."

Internally, Ning Nanzhou was panicking. So much so that when Chi Yu asked to add him on WeChat, he reflexively said, "Let’s just exchange numbers. No need for WeChat."

The FKW Base was located at 111 Phoenix Road in Crescent Bay, spanning 12,000 square meters with three white buildings adorned with the Black Dragon emblem.

Team manager Song Mingjie had been fielding nonstop calls the past two days and standing at the base entrance sorting through gifts from various platforms.

Though the team’s focus wasn’t on streaming, the champion players’ popularity was immense. The day after their victory, gifts poured in—from limited-edition headphones to the latest Aurora computers. Their contracted Starry Sky TV even extravagantly gifted four apartments, clearly planning future collaborations.

Like cross-streaming with popular hosts, for instance.

Just then, the door behind him opened. Turning, Song Mingjie saw a radiant face. "Captain Chi, where’ve you been these past two days? Couldn’t reach you at all."

Assuming Chi Yu had gone on vacation, Song Mingjie was about to say some rest was good when the man walked to the water dispenser and casually said, "Got married."

Married?!?!?!

Song Mingjie’s eyes widened in shock. He never expected Chi Yu to marry so swiftly—though, considering Chi Yu’s family pressure, it wasn’t entirely surprising.

He was more curious about the spouse. "What’s the other person like?"

Chi Yu recalled the silver-haired youth that were wrapped in a dark gray scarf as the tips of his ears flushed red, like a fluffy long-tailed tit.

Lowering his long lashes, he murmured, "Too obedient."

When pushed too far, he’d only whimper softly. His backpack was stuffed with thick books, and even his reason for marrying was just for extra credits.

Song Mingjie’s heart sank.

Chi Yu appeared gentle but was inherently aloof. Paired with someone so docile, this iceberg might never melt.

Meanwhile, the "obedient" sweetheart returned to campus and pulled out a thick erotic manga from his backpack.
