The Green Tea is Always Targeting The Wrong Person (GREENTEA)
Three Days Later
Lan Yao slowly woke up and saw the IV tube in his arm.
He turned slightly puzzled to Jiang Quan, who was standing beside him recording data.
What happened? He clearly remembered being in a meeting yesterday, so how did he suddenly fall ill?
"Jiang Quan, what's going on?"
The commanding tone carried a familiar coldness that Jiang Quan recognized. He looked up at Lan Yao, whose eyes had lost the warmth they once held and reverted to an inorganic, beastly gaze.
He glanced at Lan Yao indifferently: "It's nothing, just low blood sugar."
Meanwhile, Mu You also woke up groggily while holding his head as if he had forgotten something important. However, that didn't stop him from feeling nauseous the moment he saw Jiang Quan upon waking.
This guy really is like a lingering ghost.
By the way, where is Lan Yi? Did he come to see me?
Mu You looked around expectantly, but when his eyes met Lan Yi's peach blossom eyes, he immediately turned away in disgust.
What's going on? Why does the person I've always liked suddenly seem so repulsive!
Mu You clutched his chest, feeling as if he was still dizzy, and leaned over the edge of the bed to retch a few times.
Only Lan Yi got out of bed with ease as his strong physique allowed him to recover quickly.
He gently took Jiang Quan's hand with his peach blossom eyes filled with intoxicating affection: "Xiao Quan, what's going on?"
Jiang Quan disgustedly pulled his hand back then wiped it on his clothes behind his back, and casually brushed off the question before leaving the ward with his records.
His calm, unreadable eyes now held only a serene clarity.
‘Good, the Elixir was working just as he had anticipated.’
From now on, he would be the only one in this world with cherished memories of Yue Chu.
He quietly looked at his phone screen, which displayed a photo he had secretly taken.
In it, Yue Chu was resting his head on the table as the white light cast a glow on his jade-like skin. His long, thick eyelashes rested peacefully over his beautiful eyes, creating a soft halo.
Jiang Quan gently curled his lips.
Perhaps this was another form of possession.
Lan Yi's gaze swept over Lan Yao and Mu You, and he shook his head with a doting expression as he watched Jiang Quan walk away.
He opened the bathroom door, stepped inside, and turned on the faucet before splashing cold water on his face.
Transparent droplets slid down his strikingly handsome face and fell into the white sink with a crisp sound.
In the mirror, Lan Yi's eyes seemed both drunk and sober, and filled with a tender, watery softness, like a clear pond covered with peach blossoms in spring.
But at that moment, his brown pupils turned a vivid red, and the corners of his lips curled upward. However, the smile didn't reach his eyes, which instead burned with deep-seated hatred.
His well-defined hands slowly sharpened and transformed into long, blade-like shapes. The silver gleam was as cold as a winter moon, chilling to the bone.
Jiang Quan...
"Yue Chu, successfully rescued the third world—'The Cage.'
Green Tea Score: 89 points.
Worldline Rescue Rate: 20 points.
Plot Exploration: 99 points.
Overall Rating: Being lopsided isn't a good thing!"
Yue Chu was stunned.
Why was the rescue rate so low?
He had already eliminated all the viruses that could potentially destroy the world.
Little Bear was too exhausted to comment.
Originally, the world had favored Yue Chu and gave him the easiest mode—all he had to do was kill Yuan from the start.
But this guy overthought everything and turned the easy mode into a living hell.
Fortunately, a world doesn’t need to be conquered repeatedly; otherwise, it would just raise the difficulty of the dungeon and make it impossible for other players to survive.
Yue Chu lazily stretched his arms.
‘Whatever, the task was considered completed, and he wasn’t going to take responsibility for what came next.’
Little Bear opened the next world with a mournful face, hoping that Yue Chu would learn a lesson and stop causing trouble.
……
This was probably the world Yue Chu was most familiar with.
The yellow apartment building was about twenty-something stories tall and densely packed together that made it hard to breathe.
The road was extremely crowded, with all kinds of vehicles lined up one after another and anxiously waiting to pass.
The sky was somewhat gray, with haze enveloping the city and obscuring the azure sky and the dazzling sun, leaving only a gloomy atmosphere.
Most pedestrians walked expressionlessly with their hurried footsteps chaotically hitting the ground. Occasionally, they bumped into each other as their brows furrowed in annoyance, but they still held back their frustration for the sake of time and just quickly muttered a few words before moving on.
Yue Chu took a deep breath.
The air here was far from fresh and clean, but it unexpectedly made him feel a bit nostalgic.
Dragging a heavy suitcase, he bypassed the towering buildings and walked into a modest yet clean and tidy apartment at the corner.
The red paint on the door was peeling, but the doorknob was still a bright silver.
A surveillance camera, whose status was unknown, was installed above.
Yue Chu rang the doorbell and smiled at the young man who came to answer. “Hello, I’m the new tenant, Yue Chu.”
The landlord, wearing a white tank top and floral shorts, was stunned when he saw him. His big toe that was exposed outside his slippers, twitched uneasily. He awkwardly smoothed his messy, bird’s nest-like hair and stammered as he stepped aside to let Yue Chu in.
Was… was this not some celebrity? Just by looking at him felt like being blinded, and he didn’t even know where to put his hands and feet.
“Here’s the key to room 404. Keep it safe. But if you forget it, it’s okay; I have a spare key here. No, no, I mean, even though I have a spare key, I would never just enter your room without permission.”
The landlord, Kong Dongfei, became more and more incoherent as he spoke. Seeing Yue Chu’s smiling face, he felt like he was breaking out in a cold sweat.
Yue Chu took the key before he nodded slightly, and said softly, “It’s okay, I understand. Thank you.”
Kong Dongfei’s face turned red, and he stammered for a while, not knowing what to say.
How could there be someone so handsome and gentle?
He hurriedly moved to Yue Chu’s side. “Um, let me help you carry the suitcase.”
However, when he tried to lift it, he could only raise it a little.
Good heavens, why was this suitcase so heavy?
Yue Chu took the suitcase from him as his cool fingers brushed against the back of Kong Dongfei’s hand, and effortlessly lifted it.
“Thank you but I can manage it myself.”
Kong Dongfei embarrassedly wiped the sweat from his face and wished he could find a hole to crawl into.
This was… so embarrassing.
Just then, the sound of laughter and pushing came from the stairs, accompanied by chaotic and heavy footsteps, like a flock of birds returning to their nest, and rushing noisily toward the living room on the first floor.
A male voice rang out that was filled with mockery from a hoarse throat: "I knew you wouldn't dare to go on a haunted house adventure. Honestly, you don't need to be scared. With your ugly face, even the ghosts would probably be terrified of you."
Echoes of agreement followed: "Yeah, just one look at you gives me nightmares for two days. It's disgusting."
"Even with the lights off, I wouldn't dare to be near you. I'm afraid I'd be scared to death in the middle of the night."
"Exactly, someone as ugly as you shouldn't have been born. You're just a burden to your parents. They must regret having you."
Amidst the crude taunts from the boys and the sharp jeers from the girls, a group of young people walked down while laughing and shoving each other.
At the front, being pushed around by the crowd, was a short-haired girl who didn't look very old.
Her face, which could have been considered delicate, was marred by a large black birthmark, making her appear extremely odd.
As if trying not to scare others with her unattractive appearance, she kept her head down and shoulders hunched and just silently endured the ridicule without uttering a word.
The men and women walking behind her, however, were a stark contrast in their vibrancy.
Several of them had golden hair, while others sported pink, green, and purple hues, resembling a rainbow from a distance. Yue Chu frowned slightly in discomfort.
The sight of a beauty frowning was enough to make one's heart ache and wishing to cradle them in their hands. Although the frail Kong Dongfei couldn't even lift a box, let alone Yue Chu, he had no patience for these brats.
Kong Dongfei barked, "What are you doing? Can't you see the sign that says 'No Noise'? You're always slow with the rent but quick to cause trouble."
"Jin Hui, you're already three months behind on rent. If you don't pay up soon, get out. And yet you dare to harass other tenants here? You're asking for it, aren't you?"
Despite Kong Dongfei's thin and weak appearance, the sharp-faced youngsters were somewhat afraid of him. After all, when they first tried to cause trouble, Kong Dongfei had brought a group of burly men to beat them up that nearly broke their arms.
Since then, they had learned not to underestimate Kong Dongfei, the local tough guy, and had kept their heads down.
Jin Hui quickly hid behind his companions. He was short on cash lately and didn't want to be cornered by the landlord for rent.
Yue Chu quietly observed the group.
The colorful bunch at the back didn't warrant much attention, but the short-haired girl was none other than the female lead of this world, Feng Xuan.
Feng Xuan had been bullied since childhood because of her birthmark. As she grew older, she was unluckily drawn into the Otherworld, where she experienced despair and pain repeatedly that twisted her psyche.
After finally escaping the Otherworld, she couldn't return to a normal life. Instead, she became a terrifying murderer and used the abilities she gained from the Otherworld to launch large-scale attacks that plunged the world into bloodshed.
However, as the future "Blood Queen", she wasn't the most terrifying. The most frightening was the male lead of this world, Xie Wei.
Xie Wei was born as the shadow of his brother, Xie Mingyu. Xie Mingyu suffered from a strange illness; he appeared normal most of the time, but when the illness struck, only Xie Wei's blood could alleviate it.
From a young age, Xie Wei was Xie Mingyu's mobile blood bank. Whenever Xie Mingyu needed it, regardless of Xie Wei's willingness, he had to provide large amounts of blood.
Knowing the purpose of Xie Wei's existence from the start, Xie's parents never met him because they feared that they might develop feelings and face difficult choices.
Neglected and overlooked, Xie Wei became the target of abuse by the servants. As a child, there was hardly a day when he wasn’t covered in bruises.
As he grew older, the Xie family denied him an education and just kept him locked in his room day after day, treating him like a caged canary.
Yet, Xie Wei was born with extraordinary intelligence. He secretly educated himself and meticulously planned his escape.
But fate is often unfair.
Despite his careful planning, he couldn’t anticipate the unpredictable.
Xie Wei was caught during his escape. To crush his spirit and prevent future attempts, his father ordered his legs to be broken.
From then on, the once radiant and jade-like Xie Wei became a cripple confined to a wheelchair, slowly decaying day by day.
It wasn’t until he was chosen by the Otherworld and gained extraordinary abilities by conquering its challenges that he escaped his tragic fate.
However, by then, Xie Wei had already lost his humanity.
He was consumed by darkness and dedicated to dragging everyone else into it.
Now, no one could stop him.
"Xie Wei sat in his wheelchair while calmly watching the final flames rush toward him. Feng Xuan lay quietly on his lap with a faint smile on her lips."
This was the world’s final image.
Yue Chu gently smiled while steadying the girl who had nearly tumbled down the stairs.
The girl’s face wasn’t as unpleasant as described.
To Yue Chu, she looked no different from an ordinary person, and her clear, bright eyes were even more endearing.
"Be careful. It would hurt if you fell."
Feng Xuan stared blankly at the young man before her.
He was perhaps the most beautiful person she had ever seen, and her limited vocabulary couldn’t find the words to describe him.
His gentle, water-like eyes held no trace of disdain. The way he looked at her was calm and warm, like the rising warmth of a bright May day that dispels the harshness of winter and heralds the arrival of spring.
