Chapter 48

Online Dating Fiasco with the Campus Heartthrob (DATING)

Ji Su sat up from the bed and raised his hand to straighten his collar, which had been tousled earlier.

Gu Zhao reached out with his large, well-defined hand and buttoned Ji Su’s shirt up to the second-to-last button, then carefully smoothed out the wrinkles on the collar.

Once done, he leaned down and planted another kiss on Ji Su’s moist, red lips before saying, "Go wash your face first."

Ji Su was initially confused, but when he stood in front of the bathroom mirror, it all became clear.

The person in the mirror had slightly disheveled bangs, flushed cheeks, and lips that were red and swollen from being kissed so intensely. Anyone with eyes could tell what had just happened.

Gu Zhao followed him into the bathroom and, upon seeing that pretty face in the mirror, couldn’t resist reaching out to hook Ji Su’s chin and turn it toward him.

"Gu Zhao!" Ji Su was both embarrassed and anxious as he kept pushing him away with force. "Look at my lips! You’ve kissed them until they’re like this. How am I supposed to go downstairs and face people?"

"It’s fine, there’s no one else here." Gu Zhao chuckled softly. "Besides, with me around, who would dare say anything?"

Ji Su: "..."

After washing his face with cold water, the two of them headed downstairs to the front hall.

Before they even got close, they could hear a lively conversation inside, mixed with the giggles of a child.

Gu Zhao led Ji Su through the hall entrance, and the crowd in the main hall fell silent for a few seconds before quickly resuming their chatter.

A tall, burly man strode over, hugged Gu Zhao, and patted him on the shoulder. "Not bad, Xiao Wu! You’ve gotten even more solid in the few months since I last saw you!"

"Eldest Brother." Gu Zhao greeted him calmly, then introduced, "This is Ji Su, my partner."

Ji Su, who had been standing silently to the side, was instantly struck with shock.

Wait, was it really okay to just say that directly?

"Oh, so you’re Xiao Ji!" Gu Chen shifted his gaze to Ji Su’s face while smiling warmly as he complimented, "I didn’t expect the Old Master to be so accurate this time. You really are quite handsome!"

Ji Su snapped out of his daze. "Thank you, Eldest Brother."

"Xiao Ji is already calling me Eldest Brother, so as the eldest, I should definitely show some hospitality!" Gu Chen was immediately delighted and directly pulled out a car key from his pocket before handing it to him. "This Porsche is the first time I’ve driven it today. If you don’t mind, you can take it later as a welcome gift from your Eldest Brother!"

Ji Su was momentarily stunned and instinctively looked up to seek Gu Zhao’s help.

Before Gu Zhao could speak, a woman’s voice chimed in, "Eldest Brother, could you tone down your flashy behavior? Don’t scare the poor guy, alright?"

Ji Su followed the voice and saw a young woman who bore some resemblance to Gu Zhao walking over. She had exquisite makeup, a graceful figure, and an air of elegance mixed with sensuality.

Gu Zhao briefly introduced her, "Second Sister, Gu Nan."

Ji Su obediently greeted her, "Hello, Second Sister."

Gu Nan took his hand warmly and said, "Su Su, you’re so handsome! It’s such a shame you’re paired with Xiao Wu’s deadpan face!"

"Thank you for the compliment, Second Sister." Ji Su smiled before unconsciously defending his boyfriend, "But—"

"But the second half of that sentence isn’t necessary." Gu Zhao said with slight annoyance as he removed Gu Nan’s hand. "Just talk, no need to get touchy."

"Tch, stingy." Gu Nan flicked her hair with her manicured fingers and then slipped off a crystal-clear bracelet from her wrist. "Su Su, I didn’t know you were coming today, so I didn’t prepare anything special. Take this bracelet for now."

"Haha," Gu Chen laughed loudly, "You just criticized me for being flashy, and now look at yourself!"

"Alright, enough." Gu Zhao took Ji Su’s hand and intervened, "If you’ve got money to burn, just transfer it to my bank account later."

Ji Su secretly breathed a sigh of relief and shot him a grateful glance.

Gu Zhao glanced sideways, "I’ll take you to meet the others."

Today, only the younger generation of the Gu family was present. Since everyone was young, they quickly got along without much formality.

By the end of the evening, Ji Su had a rough understanding of the Gu family’s relationships.

The Old Master of the Gu family had two sons and one daughter. Gu Zhao’s mother was the youngest daughter, so Gu Zhao was also the youngest in his generation.

Eldest Brother Gu Chen was married and had a brilliant daughter with his beautiful and intelligent wife.

Second Sister Gu Nan was a staunch careerist and completely devoted to her work.

Third Sister Gu Xueyao was Gu Chen’s full sister and had recently joined the family company after graduating from university.

Fourth Brother Gu Zerei, who shared the same mother as Gu Nan, was only a few months older than Gu Zhao and was still in university.

Everyone was both surprised and shocked that Gu Zhao had unexpectedly brought home a partner. However, after meeting Ji Su in person, they were all extremely satisfied, and gender became the least important factor.

The dinner was lively, with Master Gu sitting at the head of the table, happily watching the young people chat and laugh, the wrinkles on his face deepening.

Having lost his daughter in middle age and his wife in old age, this once formidable man had now become gentle and kind.

After dinner, Gu Chen suggested playing a few rounds of mahjong to help digest the meal.

Gu Xueyao had no interest in mahjong and took her niece to play elsewhere.

Gu Chen’s wife sat on the chair beside him, and Ji Su also sat quietly next to Gu Zhao, watching the game.

After a round, Gu Zhao whispered, "Do you want to play a hand?"

Ji Su replied softly, "I've never played mahjong before."

Although he had a general idea of the rules after watching a few games, actually playing was a different matter.

"It's fine." Gu Zhao seemed to sense his hesitation and leaned in to whisper in his ear, "If you win, the money is yours. If you lose, it's on me."

"Come on, Su Su!" Gu Nan chimed in, "Old Five has plenty of money in his pocket, don't hold back for him."

Gu Chen laughed, "Don't feel pressured, Xiao Ji. We're just playing for small amounts, purely for fun."

Ji Su couldn't refuse any longer and took his seat at the table, continuing to draw tiles.

Whether it was beginner's luck or something else, he somehow managed to win a round in no time.

"Impressive." Gu Zhao, sitting beside him, pinched his earlobe as a reward.

But after a few rounds, Ji Su realized that the brothers and sisters were deliberately feeding him tiles.

Since they couldn't give him a proper welcome gift, they were finding ways to give him money instead.

By the time he left the table, Ji Su had effortlessly pocketed a five-figure sum.

He pulled Gu Zhao aside and whispered, "Gu Zhao, can you return this money to Eldest Brother, Second Sister, and Fourth Brother later?"

"You won it fair and square, why return it?" Gu Zhao pinched his cheek, "Keep it and save up to buy me a big house."

Ji Su's ears turned slightly red, "Stop pinching me, everyone's watching."

From a distance, Gu Xueyao quickly raised her hand to cover her eyes, "It's fine, I didn't see anything. Just pretend we don't exist!"

Ji Su: "..."

"Keep it." Gu Zhao let go, "If you don't accept this welcome gift, they might think you have issues with them."

Ji Su stopped being coy and nodded, "Alright, then thank them for me."

After all, there would be plenty of opportunities to return the favor in the future. No need to make everyone unhappy over money.

They chatted for a while longer, and except for Gu Chen's family and Gu Xueyao who already lived there, everyone else left the old mansion.

The Old Master, being of advanced age, couldn't stay up late and had already retired for the night.

After seeing everyone off, Gu Zhao wrapped his arm around Ji Su's shoulder: "Come on, let me take you out for a stroll."

When Gu Zhao said "out" he actually meant stepping out of the main hall, as his home was essentially a garden.

The temperature in the mountains was several degrees lower than at the base, and the garden was filled with flowers, plants, and fruit trees. The evening breeze was delightfully refreshing.

Gu Zhao held Ji Su's hand as they walked a distance before asking, "Did you feel uncomfortable at all tonight?"

"No." Ji Su replied. "You were right, your family is very easy to get along with."

Not only that, but Gu Zhao had been observing his reactions all evening and ready to step in at the slightest hint of discomfort, ensuring Ji Su was never placed in an awkward situation.

"That's good," Gu Zhao said, stopping to kiss Ji Su's hand. "Ji Su, they will be your family in the future too."

Ji Su's eyes flickered, feeling a warmth in his heart, accompanied by a slight ache.

It was a strange sensation, but not unwelcome.

"Of course, if you don't like interacting with them, we won't visit often in the future." Gu Zhao promised while looking at him. "You have me, and that's enough."

"No, I really like them." Ji Su replied with a smile. "I like you, so naturally, I'll love everything about you."

Under the gentle moonlight, the tenderness in Gu Zhao's eyes was almost overflowing.

"Yes, you like me." he repeated to himself while lowering his gaze to softly kiss the lips before him.

It was just a simple touch of lips, meant to feel each other's warmth and heartbeat.

They shared a tender kiss, and Gu Zhao gently pulled back.

Gu Zhao was usually quite aggressive when kissing, so this rare moment of tenderness left Ji Su somewhat intoxicated as he unconsciously leaned forward for more.

Not getting another kiss, he opened his long lashes, suddenly meeting a pair of smiling black eyes, and blushed again.

Gu Zhao took his hand again: "Let's go back."

"Okay," Ji Su responded while obediently letting himself be led back.

…..

After several twists and turns, they returned to Gu Zhao's bedroom.

Ji Su took his clothes and went to shower first. After finishing, Gu Zhao entered the bathroom.

Ji Su sat cross-legged at the foot of the bed before opening his phone to check WeChat messages.

As his fingers slid across the screen, a video call request suddenly popped up.

Ji Su smoothed his bangs and answered: "Hello, Mom."

"Brother!" A doll-like, exquisitely beautiful little face appeared on the screen, with blue eyes—a very pretty mixed-race girl.

"Hello, Anne." Ji Su waved at her. "You've gotten even more beautiful recently."

"Thank you, brother!" His sister's big eyes turned into crescents as she asked happily, "Brother, when are you coming to see me?"

Ji Su was slightly taken aback, pondering how to respond to the question when the camera on the other end suddenly shook.

A few seconds later, Su Yue Lan's face appeared on the phone screen, immediately apologizing, "Sorry, Su Su. Your sister was sick a few days ago, and I was so busy taking care of her that I accidentally forgot your birthday."

"It's okay, Mom." Ji Su replied with a gentle smile. "Is she feeling better now?"

"Yes! I'm all better now!" came the crisp, childish voice of his sister from the side. "Happy birthday, brother!"

Su Yue Lan continued, "Happy birthday, Su Su. I've transferred some money to your account. Go ahead and buy yourself whatever gift you want."

"Mom, you don't need to send me money anymore." Ji Su said softly. "I have enough, and I can earn my own money now. You and Uncle work hard for your income."

"Ah, you've always been such a sensible and well-behaved child." Su Yue Lan sighed with her tone hinting at something deeper. "But you still need to fight for what's yours, understand, Su Su?"

Ji Su pursed his lips but chose not to respond.

He knew what his mother was referring to—she wanted him to not let Ji Chen take over the family company and house.

But sometimes, it wasn't that he didn't want to fight; it was just that some things couldn't be won, and it was better to let go gracefully.

Seeing his silence, Su Yue Lan changed the subject by inquiring about his studies and life.

However, with the vast ocean separating them and their infrequent meetings, the conversation quickly dwindled into an awkward silence.

Just as Ji Su was about to suggest ending the call, the bathroom door creaked open.

Gu Zhao emerged in a bathrobe with his hair half-dry and his gaze casually sweeping over him. "Who are you video calling?"

Su Yue Lan's voice came through the screen, "Su Su, who's speaking?"

"Ah..." Ji Su's mind raced, "It's my roommate, yes, my roommate."

Su Yue Lan asked again, "Is it Xiao Qiao?"

Ji Su forced himself to continue the fabrication, "No, it's another roommate."

Gu Zhao narrowed his dark eyes slightly and strode towards him with his long legs.

Ji Su subtly shook his head and said to the phone screen, "Mom, it's getting late here. I'm going to rest now."

"Alright, take care of yourself." Su Yue Lan replied without suspicion after adding a final reminder.

After hanging up the video call, Ji Su tried to divert the topic, "You finished your shower pretty quickly today."

Gu Zhao wasn't fooled as he kept kneeling on the bed with one knee. "Roommate?"

Ji Su, feeling guilty, insisted, "We live under the same roof, so isn't that what we are?"

"Oh?" Gu Zhao reached out and pinched his chin. "Can a roommate do this to you?"

As soon as the words fell, his scorching lips descended.

Ji Su let out a soft moan as he obediently closed his eyes.

But this kiss was entirely different from the one in the courtyard earlier.

It was like a tightly woven net that enveloped him completely, and tightening more and more, more and more...

Ji Su couldn't breathe and instinctively began to struggle.

Gu Zhao withdrew from the warm, moist cavity with his tongue occasionally licking the tender flesh at the corner of his lips: "Can a roommate kiss you?"

Ji Su gasped for air and shook his head with difficulty.

Gu Zhao commanded in a hoarse voice: "Speak."

Ji Su stammered: "N-no, you can't..."

Gu Zhao's hand slid downward: "Then who am I?"

"Mm..." Ji Su gasped in surprise, "You're my boyfriend..."

"Oh." Gu Zhao laughed with fierce eyes as if he wanted to devour someone, "Then your boyfriend can do anything he wants to you, right?"

Ji Su instinctively nodded, then shook his head.

But Gu Zhao only saw the answer he wanted to see, satisfied, he leaned in and praised: "Baby, you're so good."

This term of endearment was too intimate, making Ji Su feel even more ashamed. The next second, he was kissed fiercely again.

He lay on his back on the bed as the back of his head rubbed against the soft sheets, his elegant swan-like neck arched high, the lines of his neck taut like cello strings and the flush spreading from his ears down to his entire body.

Gu Zhao kissed him for a while, then his large hand gripped the slender and firm waist before turning him over.

Ji Su's face was pressed into the blanket and almost suffocating, he called out softly: "Gu Zhao..."

"Hmm, I'm here." Gu Zhao adjusted him into a side-lying position, lay down behind him, and pressed tightly against him.

Ji Su trembled all over from the heat and reflexively tried to crawl forward.

The large hand on his waist tightened, firmly pinning him in place.

"No..." Ji Su's voice trembled with fear, "Really no, Gu Zhao..."

He hadn't even opened the dozens of gigabytes of material he had downloaded, and in this situation, there was no way he could handle it...

"It's okay." Gu Zhao's hand gripped the long, straight, and slightly fleshy thigh while biting Ji Su's ear and saying two words.

Ji Su's brain was like a mess of paste as he didn't understand anything at all: "Use legs for what..."

Gu Zhao laughed deeply in his ear before his thin lips uttered a few more words.

Ji Su's ears went numb and a stimulating electric current crackled along his meridians, making him completely collapse into the embrace behind him.

"Didn't you say you would take good care of me in the future?" Gu Zhao's fingertips lightly teased and a mischievous smile on his face, "Then let me see now how you take care of me."
