Online Dating Fiasco with the Campus Heartthrob (DATING)
Ji Su's legs were naturally long, and the high slit of the cheongsam went all the way up to his waist, revealing his full and round buttocks, and completely exposing his long, straight, and fair legs.
The scant fabric barely covered anything, but it was precisely this hint of exposure that made one's eyes redden.
Ji Su was so embarrassed he felt like he was about to combust. His burning red face buried in Gu Zhao's neck, his legs tightly clenched and his slender fingers kept tugging at the hem of the cheongsam, futilely trying to cover more.
Gu Zhao reached out to grasped his slender wrist, and firmly moved his hand away.
His fingertip lightly touched the small crimson mole on the side of Ji Su's leg, which reflected in his dark eyes and seemed to have taken on a reddish hue.
"Gu Zhao..." Ji Su trembled under his touch, wanting to say something but was interrupted.
The fingertip pressing on the mole applied a bit more pressure, Gu Zhao's voice hoarse: "Baby, why aren't you calling me Husband anymore?"
Ji Su had suffered from this before and didn't dare to call him that again, only pitifully asking: "The birthday gift has been given, can I take it off now?"
Gu Zhao didn't say yes or no, but gripped that narrow waist and shifted Ji Su to sit on his lap.
Ji Su felt a chill below. His palms resting on the hard chest muscles, unsure of what to do.
Gu Zhao gently nibbled on the burning earlobe and whispered something deep and low into Ji Su's ear.
In an instant, the blush on Ji Su's face spread throughout his entire body, even his curled toes tinged with a faint red.
In the deep autumn night, a light drizzle began to fall outside the window, though no one noticed when it started.
Moments later, the drizzle suddenly turned into a torrential downpour and kept pounding against the windowsill with a deafening clatter.
A flash of lightning tore through the dark night sky, illuminating the chaotic mess inside the room, followed by a thunderous roar that drowned out all other sounds in the late night.
The entire city, built of steel and concrete, was drenched in the heavy rain. By the next morning, the ground was thoroughly soaked, becoming loose and soft.
If seeds were planted at that moment, even in late autumn, the earth would bloom with vibrant, delicate flowers.
…….
Ji Su slept until the afternoon of the next day before finally waking up groggily.
Gu Zhao was no longer in bed. Ji Su opened his swollen, tear-stained eyelids and glanced around until his gaze landed on the Cheongsam discarded by the bed.
No, what lay on the floor could no longer be called a Cheongsam—it was just a pile of torn fabric that was stained with various suspicious marks.
The memories of last night's madness flooded Ji Su's mind, and he buried his face into the pillow as the tips of his ears turned crimson.
In the latter half of the night, he had been pressed against the floor-to-ceiling window while being driven to the brink of collapse, and could only cry out "Husband" repeatedly to try to appease the person behind him.
But Gu Zhao had gone back on his word. Not only did he refuse to let him go but instead...
The door creaked softly as it was pushed open from the outside.
Ji Su instinctively lifted his face, meeting a pair of deep, dark eyes, before burying it back into the pillow.
Gu Zhao walked into the bedroom with his long legs carrying him to the bedside, where he sat down. "Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?"
Ji Su didn't want to respond and just quietly shifted a bit to the side.
Gu Zhao chuckled softly before reaching out to touch the shoulder peeking out from the blanket. "Are you mad again?"
Ji Su trembled before pulling the blanket up to cover his head.
Gu Zhao wrapped his arms around him through the blanket. His deep, magnetic voice filled with satisfaction. "Baby, yesterday was the most unforgettable and happiest birthday I've ever had."
Ji Su was quiet for a few seconds before peeking out from the blanket. "Really?"
As soon as he spoke, he realized how hoarse his voice was.
Although Gu Zhao had given him water several times last night, it couldn't make up for all the crying and screaming, which had really strained his throat.
"Really." Gu Zhao took the opportunity to cup his face, kissing his eyes and then the tip of his nose. "If I'm lying, I'm a dog."
"You are a dog." Ji Su glared at him with watery eyes. "You really like biting me too much."
He didn't need to look to know how terrible the state of his legs under the blanket must be.
"Yes, I like you too much." Gu Zhao continued to kiss his lips as his voice inexplicably carried a hint of menace. "I like you so much that I want to devour you."
Ji Su's heart trembled. "Y-you're serious, aren't you..."
"Don't worry, I won't really eat you." Gu Zhao laughed again. "There's only one Baby, and if I eat you, there won't be another."
"Gu Zhao!" Ji Su angrily raised his hand to hit him. "Why do you have to scare me like that!"
"Did I scare you?" Gu Zhao caught his hand before brushing it against his lips. "Do I really seem that perverted?"
Ji Su: "A little..."
Gu Zhao raised an eyebrow. "Just a little?"
Ji Su didn't feel like answering and just pulled his hand back before burying his face in the blanket again.
"Alright, I won't tease you anymore." Gu Zhao asked. "Are you hungry?"
Ji Su replied in a muffled voice, "Yes."
Gu Zhao picked him up with the blanket before carrying him into the bathroom and setting him down on the sink.
He skillfully picked up the toothbrush, squeezed on some toothpaste, and put it in Ji Su's mouth to brush his teeth.
Ji Su's hands were wrapped in the blanket and was too lazy to pull them out, so he just opened his mouth and let Gu Zhao do as he pleased.
His neat, white teeth hid a red tongue, which occasionally peeked out, touched the toothbrush, and then retreated. The white foam from the toothpaste gradually filled his mouth.
Gu Zhao lowered his eyes and his long, straight lashes hiding the expression in his gaze.
After brushing, Ji Su spat out the foam and rinsed his mouth with water.
Gu Zhao lifted his sharp chin before leaning in to kiss him, and after pulling away, he commented, "So sweet."
Ji Su: "..."
After lunch, he curled up on the sofa reading a book, while Gu Zhao sat beside him typing on his laptop.
The living room had a floor-to-ceiling window that let in plenty of natural light.
On this warm autumn afternoon, the sunlight streamed in, making the room feel cozy and warm.
Ji Su stretched lazily and wanted to change his position but accidentally pulled on an overused muscle, causing him to inhale sharply.
"What's wrong?" Gu Zhao paused his movements, set the laptop on his lap aside, and pulled Ji Su into his arms before gently massaging the sore spot.
Ji Su leaned against him for a while, then suddenly had an idea. "Gu Zhao, how about we get a cat?"
Gu Zhao looked down at him. "Why the sudden interest in getting a cat?"
"Well, since I can't have children, wouldn't it feel a bit empty if it's just the two of us in the future?" Ji Su said seriously. "If we get a cat, it could be like our child. And if we ever think about separating, at least we'd have to consider—"
Gu Zhao frowned. "What did you say?"
Ji Su patiently repeated himself. "I said we could get a cat and treat it like our child."
Gu Zhao pinched his cheek before forcing him to look directly into his eyes. "The part after that."
"Huh?" Ji Su blinked, then explained in a small voice, "I mean, just in case, if we ever—"
"There is no 'in case'." Gu Zhao said with his voice low and firm, and each word deliberate. "We will never separate."
Ji Su's heart softened, and a sweet, syrupy feeling spread through him, as if he had eaten an overly sweet candy.
But he still couldn't resist teasing. "What if one day you stop liking me?"
"That won't happen," Gu Zhao replied with his gaze unwavering. "Unless I die."
"What if..." Ji Su continued, "one day, I stop liking you?"
Gu Zhao's grip on his hand tightened suddenly, so much so that his knuckles turned white.
Ji Su winced. "That hurts..."
Gu Zhao loosened his grip and replied in an unreadable tone, "Then I'd hide you away, chain you to my bed, and make you cry and beg for me day and night—"
Ji Su covered his ears. "I don't want to hear anymore."
He had a feeling Gu Zhao might actually do something like that. After all, on the day he confessed, Gu Zhao had said there would be no breakup.
But for Ji Su, loving someone was also a lifelong commitment, so he wasn't scared at all.
Gu Zhao chuckled as his tone returned to normal. "Alright, I won't say anymore."
Ji Su tilted his head up to look at him. "We've gone off-topic. Let's get back to the cat."
"Mm," Gu Zhao replied as he scratched the soft skin under Ji Su's chin. "You said earlier that you can't have children?"
"Right," Ji Su said with his cheeks slightly red. "I'm a guy, so I can't give you children."
"Is that so?" Gu Zhao's large hand moved down to press against Ji Su's flat stomach. "Then why does this sometimes bulge?"
"Why do you always do this!" Ji Su was so annoyed he wanted to bite him. "Can't you be serious for once?"
"Alright, let's be serious," Gu Zhao said with a straight face. "If you can't have children, it's my fault. I haven't been trying hard enough."
Ji Su: "..."
Before Ji Su could explode, Gu Zhao quickly steered the conversation back. "If you want a cat, we'll get one."
Ji Su immediately deflated like a punctured balloon and just leaned against him. "So you agree?"
Gu Zhao smiled, "Although I already have a kitten, I don't mind getting another one."
"When did you get one?" Ji Su was a bit confused, "Where are you keeping it?"
Gu Zhao pinched the flesh of his cheek, smirking, "Guess?"
Ji Su belatedly realized and bit the hand.
"Tsk..." Gu Zhao not only didn't dodge but instead slid his fingers into the warm mouth, "The kitten is biting."
Ji Su, with his fingers in his mouth, spoke somewhat indistinctly, "I'm not a kitten..."
Gu Zhao used his fingers to play with the soft tongue by stirring it a couple of times, then leaned in to kiss.
Before long, Ji Su was softened by the kisses.
"Let's wait a while before getting another one." Gu Zhao's large hand stroked his back intermittently, "Take it slow by thinking about what breed of cat you want."
……
The first semester of the third year flew by amidst a busy schedule.
As winter break approached, Ji Su was preparing to intern at an architecture firm by submitting resumes online.
Gu Zhao was also about to start his internship, but he didn't plan to intern at the Gu family's conglomerate. Instead, he chose a law firm opened by a senior in his department.
Clearly, he had little interest in inheriting the family business, even though Master Gu had already transferred a significant amount of the group's shares to him and had repeatedly tried to hand over the management of a subsidiary to him.
"Managing a company is troublesome." Gu Zhao commented, "Better to just be a shareholder and wait for the year-end dividends."
Ji Su nodded, "That's very much your style."
Gu Zhao laughed and pulled him onto his lap, "Baby knows me best."
Ji Su asked curiously, "By the way, you haven't told me why you chose to study law?"
Gu Zhao replied matter-of-factly, "Of course, to better exploit the loopholes in the law."
Ji Su: "..."
Although it sounded unbelievable, upon reflection, it actually fit Gu Zhao's style quite well...
Gu Zhao laughed out loud, "Did you really believe that?"
Ji Su couldn't help but roll his eyes and got up to leave the couch.
Gu Zhao stretched out his arm and pulled him back into his embrace, "Alright, kiss me, and I'll tell you the real reason."
Despite having fallen for it countless times, Ji Su hesitated but then kissed him.
"Good boy." Gu Zhao tightened his arms, his voice lowering, "When Grandpa took me out of the basement, I refused to speak for a long time."
But Master Gu had already begun to suspect that his daughter's death might not have been an accident, so he secretly investigated and finally uncovered the truth.
Although Gu Zhao's mother's death was unrelated to that scoundrel, his father was indeed killed by him.
"That man was charged with incitement to murder and child abuse, and he hired a lawyer at great expense." Gu Zhao sneered, "That lawyer publicly twisted the facts in court to defend the murderer."
Ji Su's heart tightened, "And then?"
"Then I testified in court. That man had confessed his crimes before my mother died, and I was the surviving witness." Gu Zhao slightly narrowed his eyes, "In the end, that man was sentenced to life imprisonment."
Ji Su couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, "Fortunately..."
Gu Zhao lowered his gaze, "Some say that delayed justice is not justice, but it's better late than never."
"So, standing in court at a young age sparked your interest in law?" Ji Su held onto the large, well-defined hand and played with his fingers. "You vowed that one day, when you stood in the defense attorney's seat, you would punish evil and promote good, and never let a bad person go free nor wrong an innocent one."
Gu Zhao laughed, "So, in your heart, I’m someone with such lofty ideals?"
"Yes," Ji Su lifted his gaze as his tone firm. "In my heart, you are the best person in the world."
Gu Zhao looked into his eyes for a moment, then couldn't resist leaning in to kiss him again.
Ji Su was kissed until his lips and tongue went numb, and a misty haze covered his eyes.
"Baby..." Gu Zhao pressed his forehead against Ji Su's, his voice hoarse. "Tomorrow, I’ll take you somewhere."
………
The next day, Ji Su didn’t wake up until noon.
He was gradually getting used to Gu Zhao’s rhythm, but his stamina still couldn’t keep up.
After lunch, Ji Su sketched for a while before Gu Zhao carried him out.
The weather was cold, so Gu Zhao wrapped him in a thick scarf and a fluffy hat. Bundling him up like a round, plush doll before leading him out the door.
Ji Su sat in the passenger seat and yawned, "Where are you taking me?"
Gu Zhao fastened his seatbelt for him, "It’s a bit of a drive. If you’re tired, go ahead and sleep."
"No, if I fall asleep, you’ll be bored driving alone." Ji Su declared confidently. "Besides, I’m not tired at all. I’ll keep you company and chat."
Gu Zhao chuckled, "Alright."
But halfway through the drive, Ji Su was already asleep.
He looked peaceful in his sleep as his long, thick eyelashes rested quietly while casting a fan-shaped shadow. His breathing was light and steady, as if he were a character straight out of a fairy tale.
Gu Zhao rested one hand on the steering wheel and his gaze fixed on the road ahead.
For a moment, he wished the road could stretch on longer, and longer.
When Ji Su woke up again, it was already dark.
He opened his eyes groggily and instinctively called out, "Gu Zhao..."
"I'm here," Gu Zhao, who was standing by the car, opened the car door. "Awake?"
Ji Su rubbed his eyes, looking a bit guilty. "I think I accidentally fell asleep..."
"You were sleeping so soundly that I didn't want to wake you." Gu Zhao said while pinching his cheek. "Come on, let's go see something."
Ji Su got out of the car and immediately threw himself into Gu Zhao's arms before mumbling, "You're wearing less than I am, how come you feel warmer?"
Gu Zhao opened his thick coat and wrapped it around Ji Su. "Because I want you to feel warm."
Ji Su turned his head in Gu Zhao's embrace and was surprised to find that they were by the sea.
Compared to the hustle and bustle of summer, the seaside in winter was quiet with a hint of loneliness as the only waves were tirelessly rolling in one after another.
"So you brought me here to see the sea." Ji Su teased. "Watching the sea in winter, Brother Gu Zhao, you're quite romantic."
"I didn't bring you here specifically to see the sea," Gu Zhao tapped his nose. "I brought you here to see our home."
Ji Su was slightly stunned. "Huh?"
"On your birthday, didn't I tell you that we could buy a villa by the sea in the future?" Gu Zhao hugged him as they walked forward. "You never came to me to make it happen, but I couldn't wait."
"You..." Ji Su found it hard to believe. "You really bought a villa by the sea?"
"To be precise, I built a villa." Gu Zhao took his hand and pointed in a certain direction.
Ji Su followed their hands and saw a villa in his line of sight.
The villa was just a framework, with no interior or exterior decoration done yet, but he immediately recognized that it was built according to the design drawings in his computer.
That design drawing was in a separate folder, with only one word in the file name: "Home."
"I peeked at the drawings you hid in your computer but don't be mad." Gu Zhao explained while leaning close to him. "I was planning to move in directly after it was built, but then I remembered you said you wanted to design and decorate your own home, so I brought you here early."
Ji Su stared blankly at the villa standing in the darkness, then turned his face to look at Gu Zhao.
"What's wrong?" Gu Zhao frowned slightly. "Don't you like it?"
"I..." Ji Su suddenly felt a lump in his throat, and before he could speak, tears rolled down his cheeks.
His tears were big and round, and falling like pearls. It was looking particularly crystal clear under the moonlight.
Gu Zhao's heart ached, and he cupped Ji Su's face with his brows furrowed in distress. "Why are you crying all of a sudden?"
"I... I'm not..." Ji Su was somewhat incoherent. "I'm not crying, I'm happy..."
He had really imagined many, many times what his future home would be like, which is why he had drawn the design drawings over and over again.
But he had never imagined that the day when the blueprint would become a reality would come so quickly.
Gu Zhao used his fingertip to wipe away the tears on Ji Su's face: "From now on, you're not allowed to cry except in bed."
Ji Su laughed through his tears: "You have the nerve to say that. You're the one who makes me cry the most."
"Alright, alright, it's my fault." Gu Zhao kissed his teary eyes, "As an apology, I'll let you be on top tonight, okay?"
Ji Su shook his head: "No."
Gu Zhao's so-called "letting him be on top" would only make him suffer more...
"You're really delicate," Gu Zhao rubbed his cheek with his nose, "Let's go, back to the car first."
Ji Su sniffled and took one last reluctant look at the villa: "When will we come back again?"
"Whenever you want," Gu Zhao held his hand tightly and tucked it into his own pocket, "How about you skip the internship this winter break and focus on decorating the villa first?"
Ji Su thought for a moment: "I think that's a good idea."
After all, as a college student interning at an architecture firm, he would only be doing menial tasks. What better experience could there be than personally designing and decorating a villa?
"Good." Gu Zhao's lips curved into a smile, "Once Teacher Ji Su finishes decorating our new home, we'll move in."
Ji Su nodded vigorously: "Yes!"
The two walked side by side and hand in hand, along the beach.
The winter sea breeze was cold, but their tightly clasped hands were warm.
Ji Su tilted his head: "Gu Zhao, how long did it take you to drive here today?"
"About two hours," Gu Zhao replied softly, "Why?"
"Then it's not that far. We can live here permanently in the future," Ji Su excitedly imagined, "And the villa is so big, we can have more than one cat, maybe even a big dog."
Gu Zhao agreed: "Mm, as many as you want."
"Great." Ji Su's eyes curved as evident happiness spilling out from the corners.
He asked again: "By the way, are we going home tonight?"
Gu Zhao led him towards the car: "No, we're not."
"Are we sleeping in the car then?" Ji Su was a bit eager, "I've never spent the night in a car before."
Gu Zhao opened the back door and let him climb in: "Neither have I."
A few minutes later, soft moans and low groans could be heard from the black Jaguar.
For lovers, even a winter night feels like spring.
