The Green Tea is Always Targeting The Wrong Person (GREENTEA)
"Sir, Xie Wei has already cleared nine worlds and is about to enter the tenth. He is resourceful and ruthless, and with the help of Pei Sheng and the others, there's a real possibility of success."
The Evil Spirits under Fang Tian whispered among themselves.
This Xie Wei was truly remarkable by having to actually touch the Boundary.
However, the spirits all knew the truth: the so-called rules of the Otherworld were nothing but a grand illusion.
Once absorbed into this place, one could never leave.
Living and dying here without any real chance of clearing the worlds.
It was all just a trick to deceive the players.
Fang Tian finally raised his head, bored out of his mind.
Xie Wei... the name sounded somewhat familiar.
The screen of his phone lit up and then dimmed, lit up and dimmed again.
He distractedly wondered with a hint of melancholy: What is Yue Chu busy with? Why hasn’t he replied to my messages? I’ve sent several, and still no response. It’s really worrying...
If only he weren’t trapped here...
A flash of malice crossed Fang Tian’s eyes, and the Yellow Talismans around the black door trembled slightly with the alarm bells ringing loudly, ready to spring into action.
The spirits bowed their heads, unable to lift them under the overwhelming pressure of the Evil Qi.
Fang Tian coldly glanced at the large spirit. His voice devoid of any warmth, as if he were deciding the fate of a mere pebble rather than a living person, he said; “Then find an opportunity to kill him. Remember, it must be done flawlessly, otherwise..."
His gaze was indifferent, but the unspoken threat made the large spirit tremble. Its forehead pressed to the ground in reverence, promising to carry out the task perfectly.
Just then, his phone suddenly chimed, and Fang Tian straightened up as if electrified. In his nervousness, the Evil Qi around the door rippled outward in waves and pressed the spirits to the ground, making it difficult for them to maintain their forms.
"Are you busy? I just finished showering and have some free time. Want to play a game together?"
Along with the message came a selfie from Yue Chu, clearly taken casually in front of a mirror.
In the photo, Yue Chu still carried the fresh scent of a recent shower. His hair, though towel-dried, was still damp and was clinging to his smooth forehead, making his skin appear even more snow-white.
He smiled softly at the mirror with his eyes glistening with moisture, seemingly looking straight at Fang Tian through the photo, leaving him almost breathless.
Two thin streams of blood flowed from the black door, following the swirling Nine-Dragon Pattern, and slowly dripping to the ground.
"Yes! I’ll log in right now!"
It took Fang Tian a moment to remember that there were still others around him. His dark gaze immediately swept over them.
What a bunch of clueless fools! How dare they stay here and disturb his private moment with Yue Chu!
The spirits quickly scurried away with their tails between their legs, except for the large spirit who had just reported. Its teeth chattered as it said, "I will not fail your command. I will ensure Xie Wei and his ilk are destroyed within the Otherworld."
‘Huh?’
‘Wait!’
Fang Tian frowned, feeling that such bloody talk at such a beautiful moment was truly distasteful.
As he gently traced Yue Chu’s tender, smiling face in the photo, his heart was filled with nothing but peace.
‘What’s the point of all this killing? It’s better for everyone to live in peace.’
He waved his hand impatiently. "Fine, spare his life for now, but don’t let him clear the world."
The large spirit was stunned, unsure why the master had suddenly changed his mind, leaving it somewhat at a loss.
It stammered, "But sir..."
Before he could finish speaking, he was flattened to the ground by Fang Tian's Evil Qi, with the icy gaze almost piercing through his soul.
"Blind fool, if you keep spouting such unpleasant words, I'll twist your neck off."
The big ghost quickly nodded in agreement, not daring to say another word, and ran off as fast as he could.
Only then did Fang Tian's mood clear up, and he happily took Yue Chu to play games.
Just as they were having fun, there was a knock on Yue Chu's door.
He glanced at the time; it was already past nine. Who could be looking for him at this hour?
"Someone's here for me, just a moment."
Fang Tian, however, was taken aback.
A sense of crisis immediately gripped him. It was almost midnight, and someone was knocking on the door?!
He quickly replied with a "Sure", but swiftly transformed into a spectral form and slipped into Yue Chu's room.
No, he couldn't rest easily!
Yue Chu opened the door and paused slightly, surprised to find Huang Song and another Taoist priest at his doorstep, an unexpected visit.
He smiled lightly and politely asked, "Hello, may I ask what brings you two here?"
Seeing Yue Chu blocking the door with no intention of letting them in, Huang Song had to tiptoe and crane his neck to peek inside to try to spot anything suspicious.
Yue Chu frowned slightly and shifted his body to block Huang Song's view completely.
Huang Song gave an awkward smile and silently stepped back to his original spot.
The elder Taoist, however, maintained his composure, gently stroking his long beard and smiling as he said, "Might we come in for a chat?"
Yue Chu raised an eyebrow and considered their attitude.
If he didn't let them in, who knows what trouble they might stir up.
He stepped aside while concealing the depth of his thoughts, and extended his hand with a smile to invite them in.
The elder Taoist didn't beat around the bush. His eyes, though heavily wrinkled, were sharp and focused intently on Yue Chu, not missing a single expression.
"Have you encountered any strange occurrences recently, my friend?"
Yue Chu chuckled before picking up the freshly made strawberry milkshake and taking a small sip. The sweet, cool flavor instantly dispelled the early summer heat, lifting his spirits.
"What kind of strange occurrences are you referring to, Taoist?"
The elder Taoist replied, "For example, hearing strange noises while sleeping, feeling like someone is following you when walking at night, or feeling constantly lethargic, as if a stone is pressing down on you and making it hard to breathe."
Yue Chu shook his head before pointing to his rosy cheeks, and said with a hint of amusement, "Taoist, look at me. Do I seem like what you're describing?"
The elder Taoist stroked his beard as his bushy white eyebrows furrowing.
Indeed, apart from a faint trace of dark energy between his brows, Yue Chu showed no signs of being haunted. Moreover, he had already scanned the room and found no trace of ghostly presence.
What he didn't know was that the "ghost" he was looking for was sitting on the armrest of the sofa next to Yue Chu and glaring at him with a cold gaze.
The elder Taoist, however, wasn't ready to give up. The talisman he had used was no ordinary object, and any ghost capable of breaking it was certainly not a common one.
He asked again, "Have you met anyone unusual recently?”
At this, Yue Chu's expression finally changed. He seemed hesitant but ultimately shook his head.
The elder Taoist's eyes lit up, sensing a breakthrough. However, he could understand Yue Chu's reluctance. After all, unless one had experienced it firsthand, it was hard to believe such things.
Fang Tian, on the other hand, was visibly shaken, wishing he could turn back time and strangle these two meddlesome individuals before they could cause any trouble.
‘Oh no, oh no! If Yue Chu discovers his identity…’
Fang Tian felt as if the sky had collapsed!
This is what they call "exposure death"—this is the real deal!
Yue Chu regained his composure and chose silence: "Sorry, I'm just an ordinary person. My daily life is very routine, and I haven't encountered any strange people."
The old Taoist chuckled softly and didn't press further, giving Yue Chu time to think.
"In that case, perhaps I was mistaken. However, fellow practitioner, you should still think it over in the next couple of days. That ghost is powerful and likely harbors ill intentions toward the mortal world."
Yue Chu's expression turned serious, and a struggle flickered in his clear eyes, but he still didn't speak up.
Seeing that the old Taoist was about to leave, he simply stood up and opened the door to see him out.
But his mind was already in turmoil. How long he could hold out depended on his resolve.
The old Taoist stroked his beard with a smug look while confidently leading Huang Song away.
Huang Song, still confused, scratched his head in bewilderment: "Master, that man was clearly hiding something. Why didn't we press him?"
"Foolish boy, if even you could see it, do you think I couldn't? Precisely because of that there was no need to press him. That man has a pure heart and will surely be tormented by his conscience. In no more than two days, he'll come to us on his own, saving us the trouble."
Huang Song looked puzzled: Really?
But seeing his master's triumphant expression, he silently shrank his head, not wanting to dampen his master's mood.
However, perhaps the simpler a person is, the more accurate their intuition becomes. Huang Song couldn't shake the feeling that the gentle, smiling man wasn't as kind as they imagined.
What they didn't know was that, as they were discussing this, a dark shadow had slowly gathered behind them, forming into sharp blades that were ready to slice them to pieces.
Meanwhile, Yue Chu closed the door, and the worried expression he had just worn vanished instantly, replaced by a soft smile.
He picked up the transparent bottle on the table and poured himself another milkshake. Opening the bag of chocolate cookies beside him, he took one and popped it into his mouth.
Leaning back leisurely on the sofa, he picked up his phone and checked it before sending Fang Tian a message: "Be there soon." Then he scrolled down and opened a chat with a red notification dot, typing a line with a troubled tone.
"Sorry, Madam Xie, I really can't do this. Although I've chosen Worldly Cultivation, I still strive to do good. How could I do something so against the natural order?"
On the other end, Fang Wan sent a barrage of messages, but Yue Chu simply blocked her, not even bothering to read them.
Seeing Fang Tian's reply, he added: "Alright, I've dealt with the matter. Let's continue the game."
Meanwhile, Fang Tian, who had been outside ready to crush the two Taoists' heads, instantly reverted from his monstrous ghost form to his human appearance. Without even bothering to turn around, he started typing furiously.
"Alright, I'm waiting for you."
Huang Song turned around sensitively, but behind him was only a long alley, with winding stairs sandwiched between low-rise houses on either side, stretching from the light into the distant darkness.
The nearby white streetlights, the colorful signs a bit further away, and the darkness extending to the corner formed a path from light to dark, as if it led deep into hell.
The old Taoist asked, puzzled: "What's wrong?"
Huang Song uneasily shifted his feet in his AJs. He couldn't shake the feeling that something had been behind him just now.
The old Taoist rolled his eyes in exasperation and smacked his disciple on the head with a resounding thwack.
This little brat was getting too big for his boots. If there were any ghosts or monsters around, he should be the first to sense them. Since when did it become this kid's place to speak up?
However, out of caution, the old Taoist tightened his grip on the Magical Artifact in his hand and cautiously walked backward with his eyes alert.
Huang Song stood trembling in place as his eyes darted around nervously. Only when he saw his master return to his side did he let out a slight sigh of relief.
"Master, did you find anything?"
The old Taoist struck Huang Song's back hard with the Soul-Calling Bell.
‘Find anything? Find a ghost... Bah! He found nothing!’
"If you keep being so jumpy and suspicious in the future, I'll punish you by making you copy Talismanic Inscriptions!"
With his hands clasped behind his back, the old Taoist stormed off in a huff.
Huang Song had no choice but to jog after him while muttering under his breath in self-defense: "Isn't being suspicious and jumpy part of our job..."
"You dare argue back, you little brat? Just wait till I smack you again!"
"Master, have mercy..."
