Chapter 90: Saving the World with Green Tea Photos 23

The Green Tea is Always Targeting The Wrong Person (GREENTEA)

Lan Yu stared in disbelief as the token gradually lost its luster before falling to the ground in a dull, lifeless heap.

He slightly parted his lips as his gaze shifted to Yue Chu and his fingers forming a magic seal. Yet, no matter how he calculated, Yue Chu remained nothing more than an ordinary person.

But how could an ordinary person carry such a heavy burden of sin that was enough to dissipate the merits of the Golden Token?

"Who are you?" Lan Yu demanded.

Yue Chu looked at him indifferently. "None of your business. You are not worthy to ask my name."

Lan Yu, who had always been proud, could not tolerate such insolence.

How dare a mere mortal speak to him in such a manner? It was truly beyond comprehension.

In an instant, he summoned the Jade Scepter, and golden arrows rained down upon Yue Chu like a storm.

But in his rage, he forgot that Yue Chu was still a mortal, and thus, the Jade Scepter had no effect on him.

The golden arrows landed on Yue Chu, but they caused no pain or discomfort, and just quickly dissipated into thin air like smoke.

Lan Yu's face turned grim.

‘Damn it, he had forgotten.’

Yue Chu chuckled softly. Since his opponent had finished his moves, it was now his turn.

Suddenly, Yue Chu dashed forward with lightning speed. His calm, almost lifeless eyes reveal a cold, icy intent to kill.

Lan Yu sneered.

To him, Yue Chu's movements were like slow motion. Did this mortal really think he could harm him with his frail human body? How laughable.

As Yue Chu charged at him, Lan Yu sidestepped with ease, but suddenly, he felt a cold, dark force wrapping around him that restricted his movements.

Yue Chu's lips curled into a faint smile.

‘Fool, did you forget it was two against one?’

Seeing Lan Yu's movements slow, Yue Chu swiftly raised the gray token and plunged it into Lan Yu's left eye.

Fang Tian was stunned. He had thought Yue Chu would at most give Lan Yu a beating, but he never expected such brutality.

Though it felt satisfying, he couldn't help but silently clench his legs. This time, he was absolutely certain that Yue Chu truly liked him.

If it weren't for that, Yue Chu would have probably crippled him long ago.

Lan Yu, in disbelief, covered his bleeding eye and roared, "You dare to slay a god?!"

Yue Chu chuckled. His gaze filled with disdain, mirroring the arrogance Lan Yu had shown towards Fang Tian earlier.

"You call yourself a god? Even your blood is red. If this is what a god is, it's truly disappointing."

Lan Yu was enraged. His eyes turned a deep crimson while radiating a golden light that could intimidate demons and ghosts. Yet, this formidable weapon had no effect on Yue Chu. With Fang Tian's help, Yue Chu managed to pin Lan Yu down and forcefully pulled the token out of his eye.

Looking at the ugly black hole on Lan Yu's face, Yue Chu nodded in satisfaction. "Indeed, you're not human. Otherwise, this wound would have killed you."

He mockingly tapped the token against Lan Yu's pale, delicate cheek. The bright blood staining Lan Yu's once proud visage.

Yue Chu's smile was gentle, but the words he spoke sent shivers down the spine. "Since you won't die, it shouldn't matter if you suffer a bit more, right?"

Lan Yu trembled.

Everyone said Fang Tian was the Demon King who brought calamity to the world, but he had never feared him. Yet, now, facing this ordinary person, he saw an abyss in those gentle eyes.

His teeth chattered. "You... you dare!"

Yue Chu smiled before glancing at Fang Tian and then mercilessly crushing Lan Yu's leg!

The mournful cries echoed through the Otherworld, causing the lurking spirits to tremble in fear.

‘Good heavens, I thought Lord was terrifying enough, but I never expected Madam to be even more dreadful!’

Fang Tian grinned from ear to ear, feeling that witnessing Lan Yu in such a miserable state after all these years was worth it.

At that moment, a golden light pierced through the darkness and enveloped the injured Lan Yu, shielding him.

Fang Tian looked up with a sense of impending danger, while Yue Chu calmly walked back to his side and gently patted the door panel.

Yue Chu calmly gazed at the newcomer. Since he dared to harm Lan Yu, he had already calculated all possible outcomes.

The newcomer, also dressed in blue with a golden crown, appeared much more approachable than Lan Yu. He wore a gentle smile as he spoke politely to Yue Chu.

"My junior brother has always been spoiled. If he has offended you, I hope you can forgive him."

Yue Chu returned the smile with one of his own. When it came to putting on a facade, no one could surpass him.

"Of course, I forgive him. Otherwise, I would have snapped his neck already."

Lan You's eyes flickered slightly, surprised to encounter such a tough opponent.

He glanced at Fang Tian, puzzled as to how an ordinary person and a calamitous Demon King could have teamed up.

Lan You: "Thank you for your understanding. However, Fang Tian's sins are grave. His suppression here is the will of the supreme true god. Outsiders... I'm afraid it's difficult to intervene. We are merely following orders."

Yue Chu chuckled: "Grave sins?"

He turned to Fang Tian and tapped the door with his snow-white fingers: "How many people have you killed?"

Fang Tian replied in a deep voice: "Three. But I swear these three were guilty individuals. If they hadn't coveted my power, I wouldn't have resisted to the death."

Yue Chu raised an eyebrow and looked at Lan You: "Is that so?"

Lan You naturally didn't admit it, only vaguely responding: "One of those three was a true deity from the divine realm. How could such a lowly being dare to defile them?"

Yue Chu tapped the back of his hand with a faint sneer on his lips: "So, as long as one is a deity, they can freely seize another's power, and that person isn't even allowed to resist?"

He looked up into the boundless void: "I'd like to ask this world, is this truly how it works?"

The world let out a dull rumble, instantly causing Lan You's expression to change.

‘What... what kind of person is this, to receive a response from the Great Dao!’

Yue Chu glanced at Lan You indifferently and shrugged: "See, even the gods don't agree with you."

"By the way, do you know how many people I've killed?"

Lan You furrowed his brows as he looked at Yue Chu.

Yue Chu's aura was pure; he should have never killed anyone and had likely helped others.

Yue Chu smiled: "Four thousand, three hundred, and ninety-one."

Lan You's pupils dilated in shock.

‘How could that be? If true, he would have long been annihilated by the Great Dao through the cycle of karma.’

Yue Chu wagged his slender finger and grabbed the chains binding Fang Tian.

The golden chains immediately burst into light while writhing like golden snakes as it tried to break free from Yue Chu's grasp.

However, black mist rapidly spread from the point of contact. The once vibrant chains could no longer withstand it, turning into dull, ashen metal that fell to the ground in an instant.

The golden talismans, sensing danger, transformed into sharp arrows and shot toward Yue Chu. Yet, upon touching him, they instantly burned to ashes, leaving only faint marks on the ground.

Yue Chu tapped his cheek with a hint of embarrassment, feigning surprise: "My apologies. I didn't expect the golden lock and golden talisman to be so fragile."

Fang Tian was utterly stunned.

He numbly checked his body, and as soon as he moved, a surge of Evil Qi erupted behind him, pressing down on Lan Yu and causing him to spit out another mouthful of blood.

‘Was he… free?’

Yue Chu leaned leisurely against Fang Tian while watching Lan You’s highly alert demeanor with a smile. “Don’t worry, we’re not planning to do anything bad.” he said cheerfully.

Lan You tightened his grip on the feathered fan in his hand, unable to maintain even a semblance of a smile.

Who would believe such words!

He cursed himself for coming to find Lan Yu, only to run into such a formidable opponent.

If such a reckless fool died, so be it. But now, he was being dragged into this mess.

“What do you want?” Lan You asked.

He understood that since Yue Chu hadn’t made a move yet, there must still be room for negotiation.

Yue Chu’s lips curled into a satisfied smile. He liked dealing with smart people like this.

“This Otherworld indeed needs someone to sustain it, but that person shouldn’t be Fang Tian. What do you think of me?” Yue Chu proposed.

Fang Tian looked at him in disbelief and immediately objected, “I disagree!”

Yue Chu’s heart softened, and he turned to Fang Tian before gently raising a finger to his lips in a “shush” gesture, his eyes filled with unspoken meaning.

But Fang Tian only felt his heart bleeding. If it weren’t for him, Yue Chu wouldn’t have to make such a sacrifice!

Lan You hesitated.

From his perspective, Yue Chu was indeed a suitable candidate, but… someone had already expressed their resentment toward Fang Tian and had made it clear.

Yue Chu saw through his thoughts and added weight to his argument, “I can assure you that as long as I remain in the Otherworld, Fang Tian will stay here with me. You’ll get two for the price of one—a guaranteed win.”

As he spoke, his gaze turned icy, like the first snowfall of early winter, still carrying a hint of warmth but already hinting at the harsh cold to come.

“But if you refuse, I will release all the Evil Spirits in the Otherworld, and a battle will be inevitable.”

“If that happens, the world will be filled with misery and devastation. As the one who initiated this, you would become a sinner for the ages.”

Yue Chu’s eyes bore directly into Lan You. “Can you bear that responsibility?”

Lan You pressed his lips together with his face pale.

If such a karmic consequence fell on him, even ten lifetimes of suffering might not be enough to atone.

Tortured by his thoughts, he still managed to maintain his composure and asked, “What are your demands?”

Yue Chu’s words sounded pleasant, but the price he sought must be significant.

Yue Chu smiled faintly, his eyes dark and deep like the ocean. “I want the Otherworld to be independent and unbound. Once the contract is established, no one may interfere with our freedom or the operation of the Otherworld.”

Lan You was shocked.

He… he was planning to declare himself a god.

Seeing his terrified expression, Yue Chu softened his gaze and gently reassured him, “I know you can’t make this decision alone, so please go back and report this. We can decide later.”

Lan You’s eyes darkened, and his grip on the fan handle tightened until his knuckles turned white.

He had once thought Fang Tian was the calamity, the Evil Spirit. But now, he realized that those who smiled gently were far more terrifying than those who appeared fierce, for they were better at hiding their true nature.

He supported Lan Yu with one hand and lowered his gaze slightly. “I will report what you’ve said, but please ensure the stability of the Otherworld during this time.”

Yue Chu’s star-like eyes were as calm as water. “Don’t worry.”

Even if it was just to complete his task, he wouldn’t allow these spirits to wreak havoc.

After Lan You and Lan Yu left, Fang Tian pressed himself tightly against Yue Chu with his transparent arms reaching out to embrace him. The door flickered with a faint blue light, mirroring the turmoil in his heart.

All along, he had only thought about protecting Yue Chu, never imagining that one day he would also be protected by Yue Chu.

Fang Tian had no physical form, so Yue Chu couldn't discern his emotions, but he knew that if he still had a human appearance, he would have shed tears long ago.

A thousand years had passed, and he had never thought he would regain his freedom.

He had never accepted the sins imposed on him by those hypocritical gods, but being outmatched in skill, he had no choice but to remain trapped here.

The lonely years stretched on endlessly, driving him to the brink of madness, and even he didn't know how he had endured it.

But in the depths of the void, he always felt that one day someone would come to accompany him, to save him.

Perhaps it was this delusional thought that had sustained him and allowed Fang Tian to persevere against all odds, neither going mad nor dying.

Now, he had even met Yue Chu.

Sometimes he doubted whether this was just his imagination, as the unbearable passage of time had led him to create a beautiful dream for himself.

He murmured to himself, "Am I dreaming…?"

Yue Chu's lips curled slightly, and he swiftly slapped the hard door with a resounding crack that echoed in the quiet space.

The poor Nine Dragons shrank in fear and trembling as it opened its red, bead-like eyes, and ingratiatingly nuzzled its head against Yue Chu's fingers.

"Dreaming? You wish. Now it's time to settle accounts with you. Tell me, how many more things are you hiding from me?"

With a loud bang, the tall, imposing black door that radiating Evil Qi, instantly collapsed at Yue Chu's feet.

The ghosts couldn't bear to watch, thinking to themselves that indeed, a simp has no dignity.
