Chapter 64: Everyone in the World is My Spare Tire 19

The Green Tea is Always Targeting The Wrong Person (GREENTEA)

Lan Yao looked at the tightly closed door and slowly raised his hand.

His arm transformed into tentacles similar to Yuan's, and he allowed them to pierce through his chest, arm, and thigh without any expression, until his body was riddled with bloody holes.

Covered in blood, he staggered to his feet to lean against the wall as he made his way into the laboratory.

Hearing the commotion, Mu You and the other two came out. Seeing Lan Yao's disheveled state, their expressions turned cold.

Of course, it wasn't out of concern for Lan Yao, but because he had returned alone.

He hadn't brought Yue Chu back.

Mu You's fair little face darkened, and his clear pupils flickered with red light, as if he wished he could kill Lan Yao on the spot.

This fool had confidently promised to bring Yue Chu back, but now he had returned in such a state.

The tentacles behind Mu You suddenly extended before mercilessly attacking Lan Yao to vent his inner rage.

A sharp glint flashed in Lan Yao's eyes, but he made no attempt to defend himself.

However, before the attack could reach him, it was intercepted.

The collision between the two forces shook the laboratory so violently that dust began to fall from the ceiling.

It was Lan Yi.

Lan Yi pursed his lips slightly with his peach blossom eyes equally cold and devoid of the usual intoxicating tenderness.

He pushed Mu You aside and helped Lan Yao into the Healing Device before pressing the button to begin checking his injuries.

Mu You was furious.

He couldn't believe Lan Yi was still siding with Lan Yao. Did he really think they were uncle and nephew?!

He stormed over to Lan Yi with the ferocity in his eyes almost overflowing. His tense tentacles didn't retreat but instead became even more menacing while aimed directly at Lan Yi.

Mu You roared, "You're still protecting him?! If it weren't for him, Yue Chu would be back by now!"

"Do you know how long I've waited? Two hundred and fifty-nine thousand two hundred seconds! Every second felt like a year!"

"And he, who confidently ran out, ended up accomplishing nothing."

"A useless waste!"

Lan Yi's handsome profile remained impassive.

He adjusted the device to operational status and watched as Lan Yao began to recover before taking two steps back.

"So what? Your anger is completely meaningless. You should know very well that no matter who went, as long as Yuan didn't want us to take Yue Chu, no one could bring him back."

It was only then that Lan Yi realized they had fallen into a misconception.

Originally, they had thought their attraction to Yue Chu was innate, but now... perhaps the initial confusion wasn't due to themselves, but because of Yuan.

It was just that Yuan had disguised it too well, or perhaps Yuan himself hadn't realized it, which had misled them.

Mu You was stunned as his anger instantly transformed into deep thought.

If Yuan was really like them, then that would be troublesome.

Mu You asked in confusion, "Yuan... how could that be? He always prided himself on being from a higher civilization and treating us like lab rats. How could he fall for what he calls 'inferior beings'?"

The reason they could more easily accept the fact of their attraction to Yue Chu was largely because they still retained some human characteristics.

The mutual attraction between people still existed for them.

Lan Yi turned to look at Mu You.

The deep blue light illuminated the depths of his eyes that made them shimmer like the profound ocean.

"Love is something that has never been governed by the laws of reason."

Lan Yi adjusted his gloves, the black leather gloves carrying a cool fragrance, yet it was never the scent he truly desired.

In fact, he had a premonition ever since Yue Chu escaped last time.

Without Yuan's permission, how could Yue Chu have left so smoothly with the Luster Virus?

Lan Yi's peripheral gaze subtly swept over Lan Yao, then slowly faded into his brown pupils, as if nothing had happened.

He continued, "What we need to think about now is how to coax Yuan into bringing Yue Chu back to the Research Institute."

Mu You sneered with his sharp nails digging into his palm, yet they could only leave faint white marks on his resilient skin.

Every time he thought of Yuan spending those beautiful moments alone with Yue Chu, his heart felt as if it were soaked in hydrochloric acid and aching unbearably.

They were all the same, so why did Yuan act so high and mighty, and shut them all out?

Mu You looked at Lan Yi, "Now that Yuan has severed the connection to avoid us, we have no idea where he is."

Lan Yi glanced at him, then walked steadily towards the door before pressing a button to isolate Lan Yao inside the room.

"Yuan is indeed untraceable, but Yue Chu will always leave some clues."

"As long as we find Yue Chu, all problems will be solved."

Mu You raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean?"

A glint of light flashed in Lan Yi's peach blossom eyes, "Do you think Yue Chu would like a strange creature without a human form?"

Mu You rolled his eyes before a smile spread across his lips, even revealing a cute dimple.

That's right, how could Yue Chu like such an ugly creature!

...........

Top floor of the Research Institute

Yue Chu stood by the large floor-to-ceiling window while wearing a white sweater and looking out.

The weather was beautiful today as the sun cast golden rays over the earth, the sky a clear blue with a flock of white pigeons flying by in the distance.

Yet, standing inside, he couldn't feel a trace of the warmth.

The entire floor was regulated by air conditioning that always maintains a cool, spring-like temperature.

Beautiful, yet unreal.

Yue Chu held a small ball in his hand, the red ball making his jade-like hand appear even whiter, tempting one to lick it and see if it was as soft and sweet as cotton candy.

Yuan watched him quietly.

Although he didn't fully understand human emotions, he could sense that Yue Chu wasn't happy, at least not as happy as he was outside.

[If you like the outside, we can live out there from now on.]

Yue Chu paused slightly before looking down at the beautiful ball in his hand with a smile floating like a light cloud, bright and refreshing.

"Really? But I'm worried about you."

"I know what you want to do, and if we're too far away, it might be hard to control the laboratory."

Hearing Yue Chu's concern, Yuan was overjoyed.

He immediately spoke with enthusiasm, "It's okay, we can just infect the outside world. Then we won't need to research anymore, the entire Blue Planet should be able to withstand my power."

The smile on Yue Chu's lips froze as his fingers gripped the ball so tightly they turned white.

This was truly a... dangerous creature.

He lowered his head before holding the ball up to his eyes, his iridescent pupils as soft as lake water.

"Actually, I don't really want to go outside. Here, it's just you and me, how nice."

Just the two of us? Just the two of us!

Yuan loved this word.

He was so excited that he could hardly control the Red Gauze within his body.

The swirling Red Gauze spun at high speed and was eager to break through the outer shell and touch the one he loved.

Thinking of the scenes he had witnessed as Lan Yao, Yuan felt as if he was suffocating and almost unable to maintain his form and on the verge of revealing his true self.

He greedily stared at Yue Chu's delicate brows and rose-like lips, truly wanting to know what it felt like to kiss.

His gauze was not only incredibly hard and capable of destroying any threat, but it could also release full sensory perception, and sensitively feel every inch of softness.

Yuan struggled to control the drool that was about to spill while trying hard to maintain a serious demeanor: "If you wish, I am willing to do anything for you."

Yue Chu smiled softly but he did not need him to do anything and just hoped he wouldn't destroy the world.

Speaking of this, Yue Chu slightly frowned and sighed: "I just don't know what Director Lan is thinking, why would he lock me up here?"

Yuan felt a pang of guilt, but thinking that Yue Chu wouldn't recognize him under the guise of Lan Yao, he hesitantly said: "Who knows what's wrong with him!"

As long as Yue Chu was happy, what did it matter if he cursed himself a bit.

Yue Chu idly tossed the Little Ball while worriedly saying: "His thoughts are too hard to figure out. I can't understand what he really wants to do. But..."

He looked intently at the Little Ball with his gentle tone and a hint of temptation: "But, you will protect me, right?"

Yuan was utterly enchanted as he. nodded vigorously without being able to say anything else.

Of course, he would protect him, protect everything about him, every inch and every part.

Because it was all... his.

Yue Chu didn't know yet that the Little Ball was no longer the simple Little Ball it once was.

His brows relaxed slightly as he gently stroked the top of the Little Ball while starting to think about how to escape from Lan Yao's control.

He had a premonition that Jiang Quan was the key to unraveling the world's destruction, and he had to find him.

The lights in the laboratory flickered, and Lan Yao, who had been lying inside, was nowhere to be seen.

He walked through the long corridor and silently stepped up the stairs with his eyes alertly observing his surroundings.

After confirming that no one was following, he quickly leaped onto the ventilation duct several meters high, opened the small square door, and went inside.

The door closed, and the entire space showed no signs of suspicion. No one would think that Lan Yao would hide someone in such a place.

Moments later, a figure slowly appeared in the corner with his deep peach blossom eyes filled with sharp malice and surging with unrestrained arrogance.

Lan Yi removed his gloves before gently stroking the soft handkerchief in his pocket.

The handkerchief had almost lost its fragrance, and even with his keen sense of smell, in a few days he would completely lose Yue Chu's scent.

This was something he could not allow.

And now, he had finally found it, and no one would be able to stop him.

On the other side, Mu You entered the laboratory with a cold gaze and roughly flipping through Jiang Quan's recent experimental data.

This rat-like guy was always scheming in the shadows, don't think he didn't know he was up to no good.

He was probably the only one who truly understood Jiang Quan's intelligence.

Lan Yao thought he had everything under control and did not realize that sometimes even trash could stir up some waves.

Mu You furrowed his brows until he saw a record, and his eyes instantly widened.

He couldn't believe it and carefully confirmed it twice causing his eyes to darken as he strode to the lab bench to search for the reagent with the corresponding number.

He found it.

Grabbing a row of reagents from the shelf, he was about to destroy them when he suddenly thought of something.

Stopping his hand, he carefully examined the reagents, and a sinister smile curled at the corners of his mouth.

He placed the reagents into a specialized box, locked it securely, and took it away.

Returning to the lab bench, he erased all the data.

Mu You wasn't the least bit worried that Jiang Quan would find out, because he knew that this guy would never tell anyone.

But Jiang Quan was indeed quite capable by already having to actually manage to develop the Sustained-Release Agent.

No wonder his own research had made no progress for so many days—it turned out he had secretly been focusing his efforts on this.

Mu You smiled sweetly, but the smile was like honey laced with poison that sent chills down one's spine.
