The Green Tea is Always Targeting The Wrong Person (GREENTEA)
Little Ball was missing again.
Yue Chu found it a bit strange.
Recently, Little Ball didn’t seem as clingy as before.
No, that wasn’t quite right.
It wasn’t that Little Ball wasn’t clingy, but rather, it was more clingy, yet the time spent together had become shorter.
Most of the time, Little Ball would appear and disappear mysteriously, and Yue Chu had no idea what it was up to.
Meanwhile, Little Ball, who was currently “learning” by observing through Lan Yao’s body, sneezed and guiltily rubbed its nose.
There was no helping it.
Human “culture” was vast and profound, and it still had much to learn, lest it regret not knowing enough when the time came.
Yue Chu carried a cup of hot tea back to his seat and yawned boredly as he looked at the lush garden before him.
Lan Yao’s security was too tight. It was extremely difficult to leave without alerting him, and Yue Chu couldn’t make a direct breakthrough for now, so he had no choice but to wait patiently.
Yue Chu was certain that someone would come looking for him soon. This was, after all, the only useful aspect of being a “green tea.”
Just then, he casually glanced at the workers who were pruning and cleaning the garden, and suddenly paused.
That was…
His expression remained unchanged, and after a while, he stretched lazily before he stood up leisurely, and looked at the group of people.
“Hey, you, come here and help me tidy up the table and chairs.”
One of the workers was startled as he pointed at his own nose in confusion, and then, remembering the security guard’s instructions upon entering, obediently walked over.
Yue Chu held his teacup and smiled gracefully at another person as he curled his finger. “You, take this teacup up to the sky garden on the steps.”
The man, wearing a hat and mask with only his eyes exposed, nodded slightly before he put down the tools in his hands, and took the teacup from Yue Chu.
The fragrance of the tea was strong, but he could still clearly catch the scent of Yue Chu’s body.
Yue Chu didn’t think Lan Yao had the time to monitor his every move through surveillance, but just to be safe, he led the man around in circles to a secluded corner.
He had scouted this place several times. It was a blind spot in the surveillance, and as long as they didn’t stay too long, they wouldn’t be discovered.
The man quietly watched him while almost greedily taking in every detail of his features. With every breath, he inhaled Yue Chu’s scent and wanted to lose himself in it.
Yue Chu’s eyes curved into a smile. “Long time no see, Lan Yi.”
When he heard this call, Lan Yi’s heart seemed to stop beating.
He longed for Yue Chu to see him as someone special, yet he feared the harsh reality would disappoint him.
But now, he had been affirmed, and in an instant, it felt as though he had ascended from hell to heaven, with every cell in his body leaping with joy.
Among so many people and such tight security, Yue Chu recognized him at a glance. How could this fact not drive him wild?
Lan Yi pulled down his mask as he strode forward, and cornered Yue Chu, with his peach-blossom eyes like aged wine, intoxicating and stirring the heart.
He reached out to touch Yue Chu’s face but realized he was still wearing white linen gloves.
He tilted his head slightly to bite off the gloves, and tossed them to the ground before gently cupping Yue Chu’s face with his hands.
“It’s me. I’ve come to save you.”
Yue Chu blinked lightly, like the mist clearing over a mountain range and revealing the clarity of the peaks that instantly capture Lan Yi’s heart.
“Thank you. I’m glad you’re the first one to come save me.”
Overall, Lan Yi was more reliable than Mu You and stronger than Jiang Quan, which made Yue Chu feel more at ease.
To be honest, this world was quite a headache for Yue Chu.
Both protagonists and antagonists had become infected by Yuan, influenced by his emotions, and developed feelings for him that should not have existed.
This emotion was a double-edged sword; while it facilitated his actions, it could also bring unforeseen crisis.
But he had no choice now.
Either the laboratory could quickly develop a method for Yuan to coexist with humans, or... he would bury the research institute in ashes to completely isolate the danger.
The second method was the last resort.
Not to mention whether he had the capability, just the deaths of Jiang Quan and Lan Yi could pose a catastrophic threat to the world.
So Yue Chu could only wait quietly while hoping for a possible miracle.
Fortunately, with him around, the virus would not spread further, at least for a short while. Otherwise, it would be a real headache.
Lan Yi's voice was hoarse, paired with a deep and sensual tone, it was utterly chilling.
"Don't be afraid, I'll take you out now. No one can harm you in the slightest."
But Yue Chu hesitated as a faint layer of worry coloring his brows.
"Although Lan Yao locked me here, he didn't harm me at all. I don't want you to clash because of me. So promise me, once we return to the lab, let this matter end here, okay?"
Lan Yi smiled as his white teeth made his smile as refreshing as the wind, like the summer sea, with waves flying in a carefree manner.
"Of course, you can rest assured about that."
Only then did Yue Chu feel at ease.
As for Yuan, he believed that no matter who he was with, Yuan would find a way to locate him. After all, this was the ability that the main virus should possess.
He sighed lightly as his brows brightened like sunlight breaking through the clouds, dazzlingly radiant.
"Then I'll go with you."
Lan Yi tightly grasped his hand and his peach blossom eyes filled with determination.
He moved his throat, and after a while, he said, "Alright."
However, Yue Chu was soon proven wrong.
Because he didn't make it back to the lab; instead, he was locked in Lan Yi's room.
The entire room was only in black and white, with no personalized decorations beyond the basic furniture.
It didn't feel like a home, and more like a newly renovated cheap hotel that exuded a cold atmosphere everywhere.
Lan Yi didn't care about these things; for him, this place was just a temporary stop with no other purpose.
But now he felt a bit of regret because when Yue Chu stood in the room, the once passable place seemed too shabby.
Yue Chu looked at Lan Yi in disbelief with his brows slightly furrowed. "What do you mean?"
Lan Yi smiled, but this smile was no longer as warm and bright as before; it was as crazy and gloomy as Mu You's.
Like a dragon finally bringing its treasure back to its lair, he excitedly revealed his evil wings and sharp horns, baring his teeth and breathing fire to display his excitement.
Lan Yi held Yue Chu's hand and step by step forcing him back until he stumbled and fell onto the bed, then pressed down on him before admiring the treasure he had worked so hard to obtain from above.
He kissed Yue Chu's hand and slowly leaned down to bury his head in the crook of his neck and take a deep breath.
The faint fragrance was intoxicating as it entered his lungs and almost made him dizzy with its allure.
"Don't be afraid, here you are absolutely safe."
Yue Chu glared at him coldly with his gaze icy as he roughly shook off his hand. "But you know that's not what I want."
Lan Yi wasn't angry. Instead, he spoke softly, "Then what do you want? Ever since you entered the lab, I've been trying to figure out your motives. At first, I thought you were here to steal the virus, but later I realized it wasn't that simple."
He leaned closer to Yue Chu's face with his rapid breath brushing against the delicate, smooth skin, causing Yue Chu to turn his head away uncomfortably and avoid his intrusion.
Lan Yi stared intently at his face as he was unable to understand why Yue Chu refused to reveal his true thoughts.
Whatever he wanted, Lan Yi would make it happen for him.
Yue Chu's heart tightened.
The protagonists of this world were truly difficult to deal with.
Could he really tell Lan Yi that he was here on a mission, with the goal of protecting world peace?
He slightly lowered his eyes as his long lashes fluttered uneasily, fragile like the colorful wings of a butterfly.
"I just..."
Lan Yi watched him with a deep gaze.
Yue Chu sighed helplessly, "I'm just afraid the virus might leak, so I wanted to keep an eye on the lab for a while longer."
Lan Yi chuckled with his fingers gently brushing Yue Chu's cheek, his voice filled with affection. "You're lying."
Yue Chu pressed his lips together.
He was telling the truth, yet this guy didn't believe him.
Seeing Yue Chu's anger, Lan Yi didn't dare to press further. After all, no matter what Yue Chu's motives were, as long as he was here with him, that was enough.
He straightened Yue Chu's slightly disheveled clothes, pulled him up, and began to show him around the room.
Before leaving, he kissed Yue Chu's forehead and coaxed, "I'll bring you dinner tonight. There's a computer here you can use freely. Wait for me to come back."
As for why Lan Yi wasn't worried about Yue Chu contacting Jiang Quan or Mu You, it was because they had all blocked each other's numbers. Even if Yue Chu tried to call, it would be useless.
Once the door closed, Yue Chu's expression turned completely dark.
‘Damn it, why were these people's thought processes always so bizarre!’
In truth, it wasn't that Lan Yi and the others were strange, but rather that Yue Chu's demeanor was too gentle, like a sweet trap that kept luring its prey in.
If it were just one person, everything would be fine. But now, due to the infection issue, there were four of them.
Jealousy, possessiveness, and desire always led to deeper conflicts.
And yet, Yue Chu was constrained by various reasons so he kept holding onto four ticking time bombs and not daring to discard any of them carelessly because he feared he might destroy the fragile world.
The only consolation was that Yuan was relatively simple and, for now, the easiest to handle.
However, if Lan Yi thought he could keep him trapped here, he was surely mistaken.
Yue Chu's gaze swept across the room.
With a leap, he grabbed the edge of a beam and reached for the ventilation grate above.
With a strong pull, he removed the metal frame and stuck his head inside, only to find, to his dismay, that it had been sealed shut.
Yue Chu could only jump back down while frowning deeply as he tossed the metal grate aside.
The silver grate clattered against the black marble floor with the noise echoing his unsettled heart.
Next, he checked the windows and the door, only to find they were all nailed shut. To make matters worse, when peering through the peephole, he saw no one within dozens of meters.
Yue Chu sat down on the sofa with his expression icy.
This was a big problem.
On the other hand, Lan Yao and Yuan were still carefully considering which posture would be best.
Yuan thought regretfully: Humans' acceptance level is just too low; otherwise, his tentacles would have been of great use.
At that moment, he suddenly looked up in the direction where Yue Chu had disappeared.
His body instantly turned into red fine sand and vanished from the spot before reappearing exactly where Yue Chu and Lan Yi had just left.
Yuan's expression was cold and stern as his gloomy face resembled a sky on the verge of a storm, filled with dark clouds, lightning, and thunder.
Lan Yao's outer shell was instantly shattered as his skin was covered with tiny black scales, his hands and feet elongating and swelling into sharp claws. The whites of his eyes turned blood-red, and his pupils shrank into vertical slits of pitch black.
From his back grew tentacle-like wings, with sharp hooks twitching restlessly that are eager to tear apart anyone who dared to hide Yue Chu.
Damn it!
He was going to rip them to shreds.
