Chapter 66: Everyone in the World is My Spare Tire 21

The Green Tea is Always Targeting The Wrong Person (GREENTEA)

With a loud bang, the heavy steel door of the laboratory was smashed open, leaving a gaping hole.

Lan Yao's inhuman vertical pupils coldly stared at the people inside with his crimson eyes resembling the glowing red orbs of a nocturnal beast and filled with intense killing intent.

Jiang Quan, who was working at the lab bench, was momentarily stunned. Seeing the researchers scattering in panic, he pressed his temples in frustration and unable to comprehend why the usually composed Lan Yao would cause such a scene.

Lan Yao glared at him with his mouth full of sharp teeth opening wide as a low growl emanated from his throat.

"Summon Mu You and Lan Yi!"

Jiang Quan adjusted his glasses as a hint of impatience coloring his otherwise calm expression.

How would he know where Mu You and Lan Yi were? Those two looked down on him and rarely bothered to speak a word to him, let alone inform him of their whereabouts.

"I don't know where they are."

Before he could finish his sentence, Jiang Quan was pinned to the lab bench by a crimson tentacle that pierced through his shoulder. The instruments on the bench sparked and sizzled, crushed by Jiang Quan's grip as he writhed in pain.

Lan Yao, driven to madness, left no room for Jiang Quan to argue.

"Then go find them, now!"

Jiang Quan nodded with difficulty. The pain of the tentacle retracting from his body caused him to bite his lip until it bled. His hands fell limply to the ground and pressed into his own blood on the floor, staining his fingers red.

Staggering to his feet, he stumbled out of the room, leaving bloody fingerprints on the door as he passed.

About ten minutes later

Mu You raised an eyebrow in annoyance as his fair, delicate face was cold and indifferent, as if the word "displeased" was written all over it.

"What's the matter that you had to call us here? Always babbling nonsense, but when it's time to speak, you can't even get a word out. Useless!"

Lan Yi, on the other hand, was somewhat kinder as he supported the injured Jiang Quan as they walked slowly while seemingly puzzled as to why Lan Yao had suddenly lashed out, leaving Jiang Quan in such a state.

Upon entering the laboratory and seeing Lan Yao's complete form, Mu You raised an eyebrow with interest, while Lan Yi was also momentarily taken aback.

Mu You walked over with a smile. His innocent grin laced with a thick undercurrent of malice. He circled Lan Yao twice while clicking his tongue.

"Quite a rare sight on seeing you like this. I thought you preferred to keep up that dignified facade and was afraid to let others see the filth beneath."

"Silence!"

A heavy voice rang out as Yuan emerged from Lan Yao's body, causing Mu You and Lan Yi's expressions to change instantly.

Yuan's Red Gauze had fully unfurled and floated gracefully in the air, breathtakingly beautiful yet extremely dangerous.

"Where is Yue Chu?!"

The Red Gauze writhed violently, like venomous snakes, with their crimson tongues flickering dangerously as they coiled around Mu You and the others and ready to strike at any moment.

Mu You snorted and showed no fear as he retorted, "That's what I should be asking you! Lan Yao said Yue Chu was with you. What, now you're coming to us for him?"

Yuan was momentarily stunned, then glared at Lan Yao, though there was no time to settle that score.

"He was with me, but just now, he disappeared."

Hearing this, the mockery on Mu You's face vanished instantly. He furrowed his brow and strode up to Yuan with his expression dark as storm clouds.

"What do you mean? What do you mean Yue Chu is gone?"

Yuan stared intently at his face and tried to discern whether he was feigning ignorance or truly didn't know.

"No one can easily snatch Yue Chu from under my watch, especially since Yue Chu himself is not someone to be trifled with. So, it must be one of you."

"Confess honestly, and I will forgive you this once. Otherwise..."

The unspoken threat in Yuan's words was filled with murderous intent, a side of him that Yue Chu had never seen before. That high and mighty, life-controlling demeanor was exactly what Mu You had described as typical of the higher beings.

Mu You sneered, "What's the use of spouting threats here? Hurry up and think of a way to find him! I've been in the lab all these days, you can check the surveillance."

Lan Yi also pursed his lips tightly while gripping the wooden gun at his waist as he was unable to accept this reality.

His dissatisfied gaze swept over Yuan and Lan Yao, but he had to suppress his anger for now and focus on the task at hand.

"I'll immediately contact the team to conduct a thorough search of the research institute. We can't let any clue slip away."

As he spoke, his icy gaze swept over the others: "No matter who finds a clue, it must be shared immediately, or I'll suspect that person is hiding Yue Chu."

Jiang Quan, clutching his wound, nodded with a pale face.

Mu You couldn't stay any longer. He didn't want to linger for even a minute because he only wanted to find Yue Chu as soon as possible and confirm his safety.

Impatiently, he turned and left: "Stop wasting time, hurry up and find him."

With that, he was the first to step out of the lab.

But just then, an unexpected change occurred.

The emergency protective devices outside the lab suddenly activated on their own, trapping Lan Yao and the others inside.

What's going on?

Just as the three were about to ask, they saw a thick smoke spewing out from the lab's pipes.

Mu You turned around with a smile as his sweet dimpled face filled with malice and his crimson eyes gleaming with a sinister light as he enjoyed the scene.

It was like finding something without even looking for it. He had been planning how to gather them all in one place to wipe them out, and now the opportunity had come knocking on his door.

Lan Yi's gaze sharpened, not believing that this thin steel wall could stop him. But when he tried to mobilize his energy, he suddenly found that he couldn't transform.

The more he inhaled the smoke, the weaker he felt and slowly slid to the ground while breathing with difficulty.

Jiang Quan and Lan Yao were in the same condition, but the worst off was Yuan.

Unlike the three's weakness, Yuan felt as if fine needles were piercing his body with every cell in pain, causing the Red Gauze around him to churn continuously and generating destructive energy around him.

Mu You lightly tapped his face. Jiang Quan indeed had some skill; the Sustained-Release Agent he made was quite effective.

His gaze leisurely appreciated the chaos inside.

It seemed Yuan wasn't doing too well but it would be bad if he accidentally killed the other three.

He clicked his tongue twice, but the schadenfreude in his eyes betrayed that he wasn't that kind-hearted.

Mu You was waiting, waiting for the berserk Yuan to kill the three.

He knew Yue Chu had a soft spot for these people and didn't want his own hands stained with blood.

Just as he was feeling smug, a voice he had longed to hear from the bottom of his heart sounded behind him, simultaneously pinning him in place and too afraid to turn around.

Damn it, Yue Chu had to see him in such an unsightly state!

"Mu You? What's going on here?"

Yue Chu hadn't expected that after finally finding an opportunity to escape, he would witness such a scene.

Both Lan Yi and Jiang Quan were in poor condition with their bodies marked with numerous wounds from Yuan's sharp Red Gauze.

Affected by the Sustained-Release Agent, they had temporarily lost their powerful self-healing abilities and could only lie there while bleeding profusely, helpless and at the mercy of others.

Lan Yao was slightly better off. Being clever, he had sensed something was wrong and, the moment he inhaled the smoke, he had used his remaining strength to crawl under a nearby steel bed to barely manage to avoid some of the attacks.

However, if things continued like this, the three of them would undoubtedly meet their end.

Yue Chu furrowed his brow and strode forward, only to find that he couldn't open the door. He patted his pockets and then remembered that Lan Yi had already taken his Identity Card.

"Mu You, open the door quickly."

Mu You stood still with his eyes fixed on Yue Chu with a pitiful and innocent gaze.

He stared deeply at Yue Chu, his voice trembling with a hint of sobs, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I didn't want to do this... but they always wanted to hide you away where I couldn't see you. It was unbearable, and I was tormented, so I had no choice but to resort to this."

His large eyes were filled with fragility, as if a single word of rejection from Yue Chu would shatter him into pieces like glass.

Mu You timidly asked, "Do you blame me?"

In truth, Yue Chu really wanted to crush his little head, but with the condition of the three still uncertain, provoking this little green tea with a sesame filling was clearly unwise.

He walked back to Mu You's side before he gently patted his head, and in his gentle and calm eyes, there was no trace of blame, only endless tolerance like the vast sky.

"You were indeed wrong, and those who do wrong must be punished. But how you will be punished will be decided by me after we deal with these matters, alright?"

Faced with such a Yue Chu, Mu You had no resistance left. All his madness disappeared, leaving only the gentleness enveloped by an intoxicating fragrance.

He nodded vigorously as he obediently leaned against Yue Chu, as harmless as a little white rabbit.

Yue Chu commanded, "Open the door."

The laboratory's protective devices were deactivated. Just as Mu You was about to follow in, Yue Chu stopped him.

He still needed someone to do the work and couldn't afford to let Mu You take any more risks.

"That agent is targeted at you. Stay outside and don't come in."

After saying this, he pushed Mu You aside and walked in through the door.

Mu You was stunned.

He slowly turned his eyes to look at Yue Chu.

Could it be... could it be that this person already knew their identities?

A surge of immense joy welled up in his heart, but this joy quickly turned into regret.

If he had known that Yue Chu was already aware of their identities and still treated him so well, why had he acted so quickly against those fools? What a miscalculation!

Yue Chu checked the condition of the three and found that although they were weak, they were not in immediate danger of death, which slightly eased his worry.

One by one, he dragged them out and entrusted Mu You with their care.

Mu You, who had just made a mistake, obediently agreed because he did not want to upset Yue Chu over such a small matter.

"Don't go."

Just as Yue Chu stood up to enter the room to calm Yuan, Lan Yi grabbed his hand, unwilling to let him take the risk.

Lan Yi struggled to breathe as his voice barely audible when he said, "Don't go, he'll hurt you."

If he hadn't been drugged, he might have been able to find a way to control Yuan, but now... Moreover, Yue Chu was just an ordinary mortal. If something unexpected happened... Lan Yi couldn't bear the consequences.

Yue Chu smiled softly as he took Lan Yi's hand, and placed it on his own leg. He then took off his coat and draped it over Lan Yi.

He turned his head to look at Yuan inside the laboratory with his expression gentle and filled with confidence, like the radiant and warm sunlight of spring.

"Don't worry, Yuan won't hurt me."

Without hesitation, Yue Chu walked into the laboratory.

Sensing an intruder, the Red Gauze immediately went on alert by pointing their sharp tendrils at him and arching their bodies menacingly and emitting threatening growls.

Yue Chu's eyes were filled with a smile and showing no trace of fear. He raised his hand and gently grasped one of the Red Gauze.

His cool fingers caused the Red Gauze to pause.

Its previously ferocious, snake-like demeanor instantly vanished, and it obediently went limp in his palm while occasionally raising its sharp tip to nuzzle against him.

The surrounding Red Gauze, forgetting their pain, crowded around Yue Chu like jealous suitors while twisting themselves into knots to catch his attention and hoping to be held in his hand as well.

Yue Chu's heart softened.

Indeed, no matter how fierce they pretended to be, they could only scare others.

He cupped the Red Gauze in his hands and brought it to his lips before planting a gentle kiss on it. "I'm sorry I'm late. You've suffered." he whispered soothingly.

The Red Gauze froze.

The soft touch of his lips against its hypersensitive senses left it breathless. It swayed dizzily for a moment before finally succumbing to the overwhelming joy as it collapsed limply in Yue Chu's palm.

The surrounding Red Gauze were consumed with jealousy and writhing madly, yet they could only pitifully extend their tendrils toward Yue Chu, begging for even a sliver of his affection.

Seeing this, Yuan was nearly beside himself with anger. Those damn things!

Perhaps his rage was so intense that he forgot his pain. He immediately absorbed all the Red Gauze back into his body before transforming into a small ball that rolled into Yue Chu's hand.

[You... you're going to be the death of me! How could you kiss a tendril!!]

Yue Chu found Yuan's jealousy completely unreasonable. After all, wasn't that tendril just a part of Yuan himself?

He looked innocent. "I was kissing you."

Yuan paused. ‘Well... that was true.’

But damn it, why did he still feel so annoyed?

As if reading his mind, Yue Chu slowly brought the small ball to his lips and gently kissed the top of it with his smile more captivating than the silver moonlight.

"Is this better?"

Yuan...

Yuan... couldn't breathe.

Wait, he didn't even need to breathe.

But just then, the system emitted a sharp alarm that nearly caused Little Bear to faint from panic.

"Beep, beep! Detected that the two protagonists are in mortal danger. Immediate rescue is required, or the world will collapse."

Yue Chu turned abruptly, and the sight before him left him breathless.
