Chapter 71: Saving the World with Green Tea Photos 04

The Green Tea is Always Targeting The Wrong Person (GREENTEA)

The corridor was pitch black, with only the area illuminated by the flashlight barely visible. Xiao Lu's footprints were particularly distinct on the dusty floor, forming a diagonal line completely different from their straight-line footprints.

Xiao Fen swallowed hard while using the flashlight to trace the footprints as they disappeared into the room diagonally across.

Thud, thud, thud—the sound of impact intertwined with the howling wind outside, so rhythmic it was chilling. Xiao Fen's heartbeat quickened as it kept pounding against her chest.

Yet, in the stillness of the night, such a clear sound didn't seem to catch the attention of the other two rooms. The two doors remained tightly shut, as if they belonged to a completely different world.

Xiao Fen's hand gripping the flashlight was sweaty. The freshly done bright red nail art on her snow-white fingers looked strikingly vivid, giving her the illusion that her nails had been ripped off.

She shook her head and whispered to Eyeglasses Man, "Let's wake them up first. There's safety in numbers."

Crouching behind her, Eyeglasses Man nodded nervously. If it weren't for Xiao Fen's insistence, he really wouldn't have wanted to check the situation.

The two of them tiptoed forward, but after a few steps and just as they were about to knock on the door, they suddenly realized they hadn't reached Yue Chu's room but were instead standing right in front of the room Xiao Lu had just entered.

The door wasn't locked as it was slightly ajar, and the sound that had been somewhat distant now felt terrifyingly close, as if it was knocking right behind the door.

Xiao Fen and Eyeglasses Man were petrified. After a moment, they screamed and ran back toward their room. But despite it being just a diagonal two-step distance, they couldn't seem to get there. They kept running, kept turning, but remained stuck in front of that room.

The live-stream audience, watching this unfold, dropped their chips and spicy sticks in shock. Rubbing their eyes, they were certain the two were trapped in some kind of ghostly loop as they kept spinning in place.

A chill swept over them at midnight, turning their faces pale as they wrapped themselves tightly in their blankets and turned the lights to their brightest.

Although they were fans of the supernatural, they didn't really believe in ghosts or spirits—they just found it thrilling.

But this time, it was a bit too thrilling.

‘Could there really be a ghost? Haha, maybe it's just the two hosts acting to boost the hype. Their acting... their acting is pretty good.’

Xiao Fen, exhausted, could no longer run.

Despite the cool night, she was drenched in sweat. Her makeup, smeared by sweat and tears, made her look not at all refined or beautiful but rather like some hideous demon crawling out from somewhere.

She gasped for breath with her half-exposed snow-white chest heaving violently. Her eyes, adorned with pink colored contact lenses, were filled with terror as she stared at the room just beyond the door.

The thudding sound, like a death knell, kept pounding in her heart, compelling her to push open the slightly ajar door.

With a creak, the door opened, and the pale light of the flashlight illuminated the room. Inside, Xiao Lu stood in front of a large yellow-brown pearwood cabinet and repeatedly banging her forehead against the cabinet door.

Xiao Fen's hand trembled as she shone the flashlight on Xiao Lu before softly calling her name. Her other hand clung tightly to the doorframe, not even noticing that her freshly done exquisite nail art had broken.

At that moment, she seemed to notice something beside Xiao Lu, but the dim light made it hard to see clearly.

She raised her arm a bit higher to shine the light over.

"Ah!!!!"

Two piercing screams tore through the night sky, finally jolting Yue Chu and the others awake from their sleep.

Then came the sound of chaotic footsteps, thudding back and forth in the hallway, followed by a loud crash as something tumbled down the stairs and came to a halt after hitting the ground.

The woman's scream was spine-chilling, making one wonder what she could have seen to let out such a sound that seemed to surpass human limits.

Yue Chu's expression turned grave. He reached out to stop Feng Xuan, who was about to get up, and instructed Jin Hui to stay and protect her. He then grabbed a flashlight and stepped out of the room.

As soon as he stepped out, he saw Xiao Fen crouched in a corner of the hallway with her body convulsing as she curled into a ball. Her nails, nearly a centimeter long, were frantically clawing at her face, leaving deep, crimson scratches on her once beautiful complexion.

Her white miniskirt was stained with some liquid, which trickled down her pale thighs and pooled into a puddle of yellow water on the floor, emitting a foul, pungent odor.

Yue Chu frowned deeply and grabbed both her hands to stop her self-harm. "What just happened?"

But Xiao Fen didn't answer him. It was as if her soul had left her body. Her pupils were constricted, and her eyes were dull and lifeless.

Her lips, painted with a thick, blood-red lipstick, parted and closed repeatedly. "There's a ghost... there's a ghost..."

Yue Chu followed her gaze and saw a door slightly ajar in the distance, as if something was peering at them through the narrow crack.

He wanted to investigate but was afraid Xiao Fen would continue to harm herself. Seeing Xiao Zi and two other boys timidly peeking out from behind the door frame, he waved them over.

However, the three of them covered their mouths in terror and shook their heads in unison, a scene that was both frustrating and amusing.

"I'll do it, Brother Yue Chu."

In the end, it was Feng Xuan who calmly walked over and took hold of Xiao Fen's slender wrist. She shyly smiled at Yue Chu, signaling that she could help.

Yue Chu chuckled softly and affectionately stroked her face with his fingers brushing over the black birthmark. His touch was as gentle as a spring breeze, making it impossible for Feng Xuan to refuse.

"Thank you, Xiao Xuan. Don't worry, I'm here."

Feng Xuan nodded obediently and watched as he entered the room. However, when her gaze returned to Xiao Fen's face, it turned icy cold.

Her dark eyes flashed with malice, like a crow perched on a withered branch on a stormy night, with its deep black, beady eyes staring intently and just waiting to devour the corpse of someone about to die.

Once, Xiao Fen's long nails had mercilessly cut into her flesh, and now she was finally experiencing that pain herself.

Feng Xuan gently stroked the skin beneath her fingers, slightly lowering her head to let her hair cover half of her face.

Such delicate skin.

Yue Chu pushed open the door and saw Xiao Lu lying unconscious in front of the cabinet. He hurried over to check on her.

Fortunately, she had only fainted.

He shone the flashlight around the room, confirming that there was nothing unusual, then carried her out and temporarily laid her down in the hallway.

The worst situation was Eyeglasses Man, who had fallen down the stairs.

Yue Chu frowned as he examined his condition and signaled Jin Hui to call 120 immediately.

Eyeglasses Man's head had a large gash with blood gushing out incessantly, making one wonder if he would bleed dry if it continued like this.

In addition, the shattered pieces of his glasses had pierced into his eyes. The extent of the injury wasn't clear yet, but it certainly didn't look good.

To make matters worse, his limbs were fractured and twisted in a bizarre manner. It was hard to imagine how a fall could result in such injuries; it seemed more like they had been forcibly broken by someone.

The red and blue lights illuminated the dark night and the piercing sirens breaking the silence, startling a flock of birds, yet also bringing a sense of relief.

Yue Chu and the others were given a stern lecture, being told they must never engage in such dangerous activities again.

By the time they returned to the apartment, it was already around seven or eight in the morning. Yue Chu was both hungry and exhausted, longing to collapse into bed immediately.

"You guys... are you okay?"

Kong Dongfei looked at them hesitantly. Jin Hui, Xiao Zi, and the others were as pale as ghosts, while Yue Chu and Feng Xuan seemed to be in much better shape.

He had been restless all night, deeply regretting his cowardice for not following them.

As it turned out, Yue Chu and Feng Xuan were fine, but Xiao Fen, Xiao Lu, and Eyeglasses Man were nowhere to be seen.

Yue Chu yawned and waved his hand. "Nothing serious, just a minor mishap. Let me rest first, and I'll fill you in later."

Seeing Yue Chu's exhaustion, Kong Dongfei didn't press further and quickly moved to help him back to his room, only to be blocked by a petite figure.

The girl's sweet voice was like freshly made cotton candy, and even the air seemed to carry a faint sweetness, making one feel just by smelling it: "No need, I'll help my brother back to his room."

Yue Chu didn't mind and casually thanked Kong Dongfei before heading upstairs.

However, what he didn't know was that Kong Dongfei stood frozen in that position for a long time before finally shivering and lowering his sore arm.

He blinked in disbelief. No, he must have seen wrong. How could Feng Xuan, who was always so timid and weak, have shown such an expression?

Yes, yes, it must be because he hadn't slept well last night, causing him to see things.

With that thought, Kong Dongfei couldn't help but yawn, too tired to care about the four standing there, and stumbled off to catch up on sleep.

Xiao Zi rubbed her cold arms, wondering if the apartment's air conditioning was set too low, making it so chilly.

But she quickly realized that while the weather was slightly warm, it was far from time to turn on the AC.

She tightened her thin jacket while silently encouraging herself: It must be because her period was coming soon, and she wasn't dressed warmly enough, that she felt so cold.

To distract herself, Xiao Zi turned to her companions: "Now that two of them are unconscious and one has gone mad, what should we do?"

Jin Hui spat and said coldly, "Deal with it! We went to the haunted house to scare people, not to get scared. Are their courage as small as a fingernail? How could they get scared like that!"

One of the boys hesitated, "Could it... could it be that they really saw a ghost?”

Jin Hui paused as he suddenly recalled the photo he had seen but then quickly shook his head, trying to rid his mind of the terrifying image.

‘Impossible, how could there be ghosts in this world?’

He smacked the boy's head hard and scolded, "What nonsense are you spouting!"

Xiao Zi hesitated, to be honest, she was also a bit scared.

After thinking for a moment, she said, "How about we ask Yue Chu to review the footage? Maybe we can figure out what happened at that time."

Jin Hui immediately refused, "I’m not going to beg that pretentious guy. If you want to go, go by yourself!"

Xiao Zi glared at him and decided to go by herself. However, she remembered that the handsome guy had just rested, and she was quite tired too. So, she planned to go back to her room first to remove her makeup, take a shower, and get some sleep. Then, she would wake up, put on a beautiful makeup look, and go see Yue Chu.

Perfect!

Xiao Zi happily made her plans, instantly forgetting about her three companions whose fates were still unknown. She swayed her hips as she walked up the stairs.

Jin Hui snorted coldly, too lazy to deal with this infatuated girl. Seeing that it was still early, as an unemployed drifter, he also went back to his room to catch up on sleep.
